the AG-1250E:
1. In HVAC Unit locate HVAC Power wire going to “Wall Thermostat”, (Typically RED).
Break/Disconnect 24 VAC Power wire going to “Wall Thermostat”.
A. Connect “RED”, “Input 24 VAC (Hot)” and “Gray” “Common” wire of AG-1250E to 24 VAC
(Hot) secondary side of 24 VAC Transformer.
B. Connect “Purple”, “Normally Closed” wire of AG-1250E to Thermostat’s “R” Terminal wire.
NOTE: “Purple” wire must be connected to “Thermostat”. Maximum capacity
24VAC/5Amp.
C. Connect “BLACK”, “Input: 24 VAC (Common)” wire of AG-1250E to 24 VAC (COMMON)
secondary side of 24 VAC Transformer or Thermostat’s “C”Terminal.
D. Optional: Connect “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire of AG-1250E to the “WHITE” wire of
AquaGuard, AG-9100 External Alarm or Home Alarm System, or Communicating System,
etc...
NOTE: “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire maximum capacity, 24VAC/1Amp.
2. Test the AG-1250E Secondary Pan Sensor (At start-up check initial amperage load) while the
HVAC unit is on and functioning correctly. See installation of sensor.
NOTE: When AG-1250E is wired correctly, the HVAC unit will shut o upon condensate
detection.

Failure to read and comply with all warnings, cautions and instructions prior to starting
installation may cause personal injury and/or property damage and void warranty.
STOP/READ The AG-1250E must be installed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. The AG-1250E
must be installed in accordance with all applicable local plumbing, drainage and electrical codes.
Remove electrical shock hazard – DISCONNECT THE POWER TO THE HVAC UNIT BEFORE INSTALLING
THE AQUAGUARD AG-1250E to avoid electrical shock and/or equipment damage. Do not use on circuits
exceeding 24 VAC to avoid damage to sensor, shock or fire hazard.
In some situations the sensor may cause the unit to rapidly cycle on and o as water level
rises slowly in pan. Ater a brief period the HVAC unit will turn o completely. Condensation drain must be
serviced if this occurs.
In any installation where property damage and/or personal injury might result from an
inoperative sensor due to power outages, a back-up system(s) and /or alarm should be installed.
NOTICENOTICE The AG-1250E must only be installed by a licensed contractor. Condensation pan must be
properly maintained ater installation and be kept free of foreign matter, rust or other obstructions that
might interfere with the proper operation of the AG-1250E.
NOTICENOTICE Cleaning solutions or dirty probes may not allow the HVAC unit to come on. If such, remove probe
sensor and/or secondary pan sensor, clean, and dry.

1. In HVAC Unit locate Compressor wire going to “Wall Thermostat”, (Typically YELLOW).
Break/Disconnect Compressor wire going to “Wall Thermostat”.
A. Connect typically “YELLOW” wire, going to “Wall Thermostat” to “Gray” “Common” wires
of AG-1250E.
B. Connect “Purple”, “Normally Closed” wire of AG-1250E to Compressor’s typically
“YELLOW” wire going to compressor.
NOTE: “Purple” wire must be connected to Compressor “YELLOW” wire. Maximum
capacity 24VAC/5Amp.
C. Connect “RED”, “Input: 24 VAC (HOT)” wire of AG-1250E to 24 VAC (HOT) of 24 VAC
Transformer or Thermostat’s “R”Terminal.
D. Optional: Connect “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire of AG-1250E to the “WHITE” wire
of AquaGuard, AG-9100 External Alarm (see Figure 1.) or Home Alarm System, or
Communicating System, etc...
NOTE: “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire maximum capacity, 24VAC/1Amp.
2. Test the AG-1250E Secondary Pan Sensor (At start-up check initial amperage load) while the
HVAC unit is on and functioning correctly. See installation of sensor.
NOTE: When the AG-1250E is wired correctly, (ONLY) the Compressor unit will shut-o upon
condensate detection. Air Handler will continue to run.
1. Clean desired mounting surface throughly with included alcohol pad.
2. Using the adhesive tape, ax the mounting clip to the desired surface in pan. Next, snap
AG-1250E to mounting clip.
3. Place the ATTENTION sticker on HVAC unit in a clearly visible location.
4. Test sensor: Place sensor in secondary pan and add enough water to the pan to cover
contacts (approximately ¼ inch). LED will illuminate and HVAC unit will stop running if wired
correctly.

contact 1 Amp @ 24VAC - Red to White.

(generalmente ROJO). Rompa/Desconecte el cable de alimentación de 24 VCA que va al
“Termostato de pared”.
A. Conecte el cable “ROJO”, “Entrada de 24 VCA (caliente)” y “Gris” “Común” del AG-1250E al lado
secundario de 24 VCA (caliente) del transformador de 24 VCA.
B. Conecte el cable “Púrpura”, “Normalmente cerrado” del AG-1250E al cable del terminal
“R” del termostato. NOTA: El cable “morado” debe conectarse al “termostato”. Capacidad
máxima 24VAC/5Amp.
C. Conecte el cable “NEGRO”, “Entrada: 24 VCA (Común)” del AG-1250E al lado secundario de 24
VCA (COMÚN) del Transformador de 24 VCA para la Terminal “C” del Termostato.
D. Opcional: Conecte el cable “BLANCO”, “Normalmente abierto” de AG-1250E al cable “BLANCO”
de AquaGuard, AG-9100 Alarma externa o Sistema de alarma para el hogar, o Sistema de

ADVERTENCIA El no leer y seguir todas las advertencias, indicaciones e instrucciones antes de
comenzar con la instalación puede causar heridas personales y/o daños materiales, e invalidar la
garantía.
DETENER/LEER El AG-1250E debe instalarse de acuerdo a las instrucciones del fabricante. El AG-1250E se
debe instalar según todas las normas locales vigentes de plomería, drenaje y eléctricas.
ADVERTENCIA Electrocución el peligro electrocución – INTERRUMPA LA ALIMENTACION A LA UNIDAD
HVAC ANTES DE INSTALAR EL AQUAGUARD AG-1250E para evitar descargas eléctricas y/o daños al
equipo. No lo use en circuitos de más de 24 VAC para evitar daños, descargas eléctricas o incendios.
ADVERTENCIA En algunos casos, el sensor puede encender y apagar la unidad rápidamente cuando
el nivel de agua se eleva lentamente en la bandeja. Luego de unos instantes, la unidad HVAC se
apagará por completo. Se debe revisar el drenaje de condensación si sucede esto.
ADVERTENCIA En toda instalación donde podrían ocurrir daños materiales y/o heridas personales
debido a un sensor que no funcione a causa de apagones, deberá instalarse un sistema de refuerzo
y/o una alarma.
NOTAR El AquaGuard AG-1250E debe ser instalado únicamente por un contratista certificado o
bajo la supervisión de un contratista certificado. La bandeja de condensación debe mantenerse
correctamente después de la instalación y debe estar libre de materiales extraños, óxido u otras
obstrucciones que podrían interferir con el funcionamiento correcto del AquaGuard AG-1250E.
NOTAR Si el sensor está expuesto a soluciones de limpieza, puede causar su mal funcionamiento.
Si esto pasa, enjuague completamente el sensor con agua. Se recomienda quitar el sensor de la
unidad antes de limpiar el serpentín o la bandeja.

Uso en Clase 2
(Termostato) Solo circuito
1. En la unidad HVAC, ubique el cable del compresor que va al “Termostato de pared”,
(generalmente AMARILLO) Rompa/Desconecte el cable del compresor que va a “Termostato de
pared”.
A. Conecte normalmente el cable “AMARILLO”, que va al “Termostato de pared” a los cables
“Gris” “Común” de AG-1250E.
B. Conecte el cable “Púrpura”, “Normalmente cerrado” del AG-1250E al cable típicamente
“AMARILLO” del compresor que va al compresor.
NOTA: El cable “morado” debe conectarse al cable “AMARILLO” del compresor. Capacidad
máxima 24VAC/5Amp.
C. Conecte el cable “ROJO”, “Entrada: 24 VCA (CALIENTE)” del AG-1250E a 24 VCA (CALIENTE) del
Transformador de 24 VCA o la Terminal “R” del Termostato.
D. Opcional: Conecte el cable “BLANCO”, “Normalmente abierto” de AG-1250E al cable
“BLANCO” de AquaGuard, AG-9100 Alarma externa (consulte la Figura 1.) o Sistema de alarma
para el hogar, o Sistema de comunicación, etc. .
NOTA: Capacidad máxima de cable “BLANCO”, “Normalmente abierto”, 24VAC/1Amp.
2. Pruebe el sensor de pan secundario AG-1250E (en el arranque, verifique la carga de amperaje
inicial) mientras la unidad HVAC está encendida y funcionando correctamente. Ver instalación
del sensor.
NOTA: Cuando el AG-1250E está cableado correctamente, (ÚNICAMENTE) la unidad del
compresor se apagará al detectar condensación. El controlador de aire seguirá funcionando.
1. Limpie a fondo la superficie de montaje deseada con la almohadilla con alcohol incluida.
2. Usando la cinta adhesiva, fije el clip de montaje a la superficie deseada en la bandeja. A
continuación, encaje el AG-1250E en el clip de montaje.
3. Coloque la etiqueta de ATENCIÓN en la unidad HVAC en un lugar claramente visible.
4. Pruebe el sensor: coloque el sensor en la bandeja secundaria y agregue suficiente agua a la
bandeja para cubrir los contactos (aproximadamente ¼ de pulgada). El LED se iluminará y la
unidad HVAC dejará de funcionar si está conectada correctamente.
