OIL TALLY HEATING OIL METER
›Always install the meter based on the direction of ow as shown by the arrow on the meter.
›The meter can be installed on the suction or delivery side of the boiler pump.
›The meter can be installed horizontally or vertically, but if vertically, the ow must be upwards through
the meter. Please note: Incorrect installation can cause premature wear of meter components.
›The pipe layout must ensure that the meter is lled with uid at all times.
›Where back-ow may occur a non-return valve should be tted after the meter to prevent inaccurate
readings.
›An 80 micron lter should be tted before the meter to prevent impurities entering and damaging the
meter.
›The meter is supplied with two 10mm compression x 1/4” BSPM adapters. After removing the
sealing plugs, the 1/4” BSPM ends should be tightened into the inlet and outlet threads of the meter
(max 7Nm). Then add the nuts and olives. The tted washers will seal the adaptors to the meter and
no sealant or thread tape is required.
›The 10mm compression ttings are used to connect the meter into a 10mm oil line. After turning
off the oil ow a section pipe should be removed to allow the installation of the meter into the line.
For lines other than 10mm additional adaptors (not supplied) will be required and the removed pipe
length may vary.
›To prevent stress on the pipe and connections support the meter if necessary.
›Turn on the oil ow and check the meter for correct operation and all uid connections for leaks.
