1. WARNING: To reduce the r sk of njury, do not perm t ch ldren to
use th s product unless they are closely superv sed at all t mes. Keep spa cover
locked when not n use.
2. A w re connector s prov ded on th s un t to connect a m n mum No.
8 AWG (8.4mm2) sol d copper conductor between th s un t and any metal
equ pment, metal water p pe or condu t w th n 5 feet (1.5m) of the un t.
3. DANGER: R sk of Injury. The suct on f tt ngs n th s spa are s zed
to match the spec f c water flow created by the pump. Should the need ar se
to replace the suct on f tt ngs or the pump, be sure that the flow rates are
compat ble. Never operate the spa f the suct on f tt ngs are broken or m ss-
ng. Never replace a suct on f tt ng w th one rated less than the flow rate
marked on the or g nal f tt ng.
4. DANGER: R sk of Acc dental Drown ng. Extreme Caut on must be
exerc sed to prevent unauthor zed access by ch ldren. To avo d acc dents,
nsure that ch ldren cannot use th s spa unless they are superv sed at all t mes.
5. DANGER: R sk of Electr c Shock. Install at least 5 feet (1.5m) from
all metal surfaces. As an alternat ve, a spa may be nstalled w th n 5 feet of
metal surfaces f each metal surface s permanently connected by a m n mum
No. 8 AWG (8.4mm2) sol d copper conductor to the w re connector on the
term nal box that s prov ded for th s purpose.
6. DANGER: R sk of Electr c Shock. Do not perm t any electr cal
appl ance, such as a l ght, telephone, rad o or telev s on w th n 5 feet (1.5m)
of a spa.
7. WARNING: To Reduce the R sk of Injury:
a) Before us ng your spa you should check the water temperature w th
a thermometer that s known to be accurate. The water temperature n a spa

should never exceed 104°F (40°C). A water temperature of 104°F s cons d-
ered safe for a healthy adult. Lower water temperatures are recommended
for young ch ldren and when spa use exceeds 10 m nutes.
b) S nce excess ve water temperatures have a h gh potent al for
caus ng fetal njury dur ng the early months of pregnancy, pregnant or poss -
bly pregnant women should l m t spa water temperature to 100°F (38°C).
c) The use of alcohol, drugs, or med cat on before or dur ng spa use
may lead to unconsc ousness w th the poss b l ty of drown ng.
d) Persons suffer ng from obes ty or w th a med cal h story of heart
d sease, low or h gh blood pressure, c rculatory system problems or d abetes
should consult a phys c an before us ng a spa.
e) Persons us ng med cat on should consult a phys c an before us ng
a spa s nce some med cat on may nduce drows ness wh le other med cat ons
may affect heart rate, blood pressure and c rculat on.
8. The causes, symptoms and affects of hypertherm a may be descr bed
as follows:
Hypertherm a occurs when the nternal temperature of the body
reaches a level several degrees above the normal temperature of 98.6°F. The
symptoms of hypertherm a nclude an ncrease n the nternal temperature
of the body, d zz ness, lethargy, drows ness and fa nt ng.
The effects of hypertherm a nclude:
• Fa lure to feel heat
• Fa lure to recogn ze the need to ex t the spa
• Unawareness of mpend ng hazards
• Fetal njury n pregnant women
• Phys cal nab l ty to ex t the spa or hot tub
• Unconsc ousness result ng n the potent al of drown ng
9. WARNING: The use of alcohol, drugs or med cat on can greatly
ncrease the r sk of fatal hypertherm a. If you suspect hypertherm a, mmed -
ately get med cal help, lay the v ct m on the r back w th the head sl ghtly
elevated for eas er breath ng, cover the body w th a blanket and apply ce
packs to the head.
10. Never touch or come n contact w th any electr cal accessory when n
your spa or when your body s wet.
11. Pr or to perform ng any serv ce to the spa pack, turn off ALL power
to the system at the ma n power source breaker.
NOTE: A READILY ACCESSIBLE DISCONNECTING MEANS
SHALL BE PROVIDED DURING INSTALLATION.

PERSONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. Please use the spa when others are present.
2. Ch ldren should have spa access only w th the perm ss on and super-
v s on of an adult.
3. To reduce the r sk of ch ld drown ng, keep the spa f lter clean and
unclogged. Do not mod fy the suct on or f ltrat on systems.
4. Exerc se caut on when enter ng or leav ng the spa. When mov ng or
chang ng pos t ons, be sure of your foot ng before apply ng your full we ght as
water refract on can be m slead ng.
5. Do not stay n the spa for extended per ods of t me. Set a reasonable
t me l m t after wh ch you leave the spa, cool down, take a shower, relax and
then return for another stay n the spa.
INSTALLATION AND SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
SURFACE AND PAD REQUIREMENTS
• Your new portable spa must be placed on a un formly f rm, flat and
level surface. A concrete pad 4 nches th ck s best.
• In order to prevent flood ng of the electr cal equ pment, the pad
must be such that water w ll dra n away from the spa.
• If your spa s located near spr nklers, adjust or cap them so as not to
h t the s d ng of the spa.
NOTE: Do not put your spa on any soft surface such as sand, grass, crushed
rock or d rt. Any settl ng surface w ll put an uneven pressure and tens on to
the spa structure and may vo d the warranty.
BALCONIES AND DECK REQUIREMENTS
• Deck ng must be constructed to support 85 pounds per sq. ft.
• Balcon es must be constructed to meet current state and local codes.
• Gates must be self-clos ng and self-latch ng.

• Your 110-volt or 220-volt spa pack s des gned to be “PERMANENTLY
CONNECTED”.
• It is the customer’s responsibility to acquire necessary
permits and to arran e for installation and hook up of
the electrical power.
Plug & Play Cord Location
For square p ug and p ay spas, the GFCI cord can be accessed through
the notched corner knockout as shown to the right. You may have to
remove the equipment access pane and route the cord through the open-
ing.
For the round Viking 1P or 2P spas, you
wi need to remove the pane with the cord
cutout in the ower eft hand section of the
pane to access the GFCI cord. Attach the
pane back onto the spa with the cord routed
through the notch section of the pane .

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS
GENERAL
NOTICE: All spa electrical wirin must be performed by
a qualified, licensed electrician in order to meet NEC (National Electrical
Code) state and local codes.
1. The l nes carry ng power to the spa must be ded cated to the
spa and should not be shared w th any other appl ance(s).
2. All electr cal w r ng l nes must or g nate from the electr cal panel and
term nate, hard w red, nto the electr cal w r ng compartment. The use of
extens on cords or mproper plug type term nat on s expressly proh b ted and
vo ds the warranty.
3. Do not use alum num w r ng. Use only copper conductive wirin .
4. Wire au e must be in accordance with NEC requirements for the
d stance from current source to spa and the current rat ng as stated on the ID
label that s attached to the equ pment control enclosure.
5. All w r ng nstalled n condu t must be approved for usage by state
and local codes. The condu t must term nate at the electr cal access compart-
ment e ther from the bottom of the spa or through a hole n the s de panel of
the spa.

SPA START UP DIRECTIONS
All Cyanna Valley Spas requ re a sol d, flat surface.* Th s s to ensure that
the spa cab net s not exposed to a pressure stress cond t on that may result
n cab net damage and shell crack ng. A concrete pad is the best example of
a solid, flat surface, however, wood deckin is suitable, provided it can
withstand 85# per sq. ft. without deflection.
* FAILURE TO PROVIDE A PROPER, SOLID, FLAT SURFACE
MAY DAMAGE YOUR SPA AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

It s very mportant to make sure that the spa s f lled at least 3/4 way up the
sk mmer open ng. Make sure the ate valves are in the open or up position.
WARNING: Do not run spa w th gate valves closed or run pump w th no
water c rculat ng n spa for long per ods. Damage could occur to the spa
equ pment.
