Information regarding use of loudspeakers
ARNING!
Never stan in the imme iate vicinity of lou speakers riven at a
high level. Professional lou speaker systems are capable of causing
a soun pressure level etrimental to human health. Seemingly non-
critical soun levels (from approx. 95 B SPL) can cause hearing
amage if people are expose to it over a long perio .
In or er to prevent acci ents when eploying lou speakers on the
groun or when flown, please take note of the following:
When setting up the lou speakers or lou speaker stan s, make sure
they are stan ing on a firm surface. If you place several systems on
top of one another, use straps to secure them against movement.
Only use accessories which have been teste an approve by &b
for assembly an mobile eployment. Pay attention to the correct
application an maximum loa capacity of the accessories as
etaile in our specific “Mounting instructions” or in our "Flying
system an Rigging manuals”.
Ensure that all a itional har ware, fixings an fasteners use for
installation or mobile eployment are of an appropriate size an
loa safety factor. Pay attention to the manufacturers instructions
an to the relevant safety gui elines.
Regularly check the lou speaker housings an accessories for visible
signs of wear an tear, an replace them when necessary.
Regularly check all loa bearing bolts in the mounting evices.
CAUTION!
Lou speakers pro uce a static magnetic fiel even if they are not
connecte or are not in use. Therefore make sure when erecting
an transporting lou speakers that they are nowhere near
equipment an objects which may be impaire or amage by an
external magnetic fiel . Generally speaking, a istance of 0.5 m
(1.5 ft) from magnetic ata carriers (floppy isks, au io an vi eo
tapes, bank car s, etc.) is sufficient; a istance of more than 1 m
(3 ft) may be necessary with computer an vi eo monitors.

C4-SUB
The C4-SUB is a compact, hornloa e ban pass esign employing
a single 18" river. It is esigne for use with the C4-TOP cabinet
as a part of the C4 system.
The C4-SUB cabinet is constructe from marine plywoo an has
an impact resistant paint finish. The front of the lou speaker
cabinet is fitte with a rigi metal grill covere with a replaceable
acoustically transparent foam, an fitte with catches to the top
an bottom for securing an optional transport li E7908. The
cabinet incoporates two steel han les an MAN CF4 stu plate
rigging points. Mounte on the rear panel are ratchet strap gui e
plates (kelping bars) an four heavy uty wheels.
CAUTION!
Only operate C4-SUB cabinets with a &b D12 or E-PAC amplifier
in C4-SUB mo e or a P1200A mainframe fitte with a C4-SUB
controller mo ule, otherwise there is a risk of amaging the
lou speaker components.

The C4-SUB cabinet is fitte with a pair of EP5 connectors. All pins
of both connectors are wire in parallel.
The C4-SUB uses the pin assignments 3/4 an 5 (Pin 5: SenseDrive
- D12 only an in conjunction with 5-wire cables).
Pins 1/2 are esignate to &b full range systems.
Using one connector as the input, the secon connector allows for
irect connection to a itional cabinets.
The C4-SUB can be supplie with NL4 connectors as an option
using the pin assignment 2+/2–. Pins 1+/1– are esignate to &b
full range systems.
Pin equivalents of EP5 an NL4 connectors are liste in the table
below.

Operation with D12
Selecting C4-SUB mo e in the D12 enables up to two C4-SUB
cabinets to be riven by each channel. In applications with low
continuous levels an low ambient temperatures up to three
cabinets per channel may be connecte .
When the D12 is operate in "Mix TOP/SUB" mo e the C4-SUB
cabinet an a respective full range system can be linke together
locally an fe by a single 4-wire cable from either amplifier
output connector.
IMPORTANT!
To apply SenseDrive for the subwoofer, EP5 connectors an 5-wire
cables have to be use . When operate in "Mix TOP/SUB" mo e
mo e the subwoofer has to be fe from the output B connector of
the D12 amplifier.
Controller settings
For acoustic a justment the +B2 setting can be selecte .
+B2 circuit
When C4-SUB cabinets are use with a itional B2 subwoofers
(INFRA mo e) the C4-SUB controller can be set to +B2 mo e. This
intro uces a relatively narrow ban signal attenuation aroun
50 Hz, which raises the lower frequency limit of the C4-SUB to
aroun 60 Hz. The +B2 setting increases the hea room on the
C4-SUBs while the combine system response will not change
significantly.
Operation with E-PAC (Version 3 with display only)
Selecting C4-SUB mo e in the E-PAC enables one C4-SUB cabinet
to be riven at an output power of 300 Watts. We o not
recommen that two C4-SUB cabinets are riven in LO IMP mo e as
the 6 B re uction in input level to the lou speakers results in no
gain in acoustical output.

Controls on C4-SUB
controller module
Up to two C4-SUB cabinets can be riven by each P1200A power
amplifier channel fitte with a C4-SUB controller mo ule. Fitting
one C4-SUB an one TOP controller mo ule allows a single
mainframe to rive two C4-SUB an two TOP cabinets. All cabinets
can be linke together locally an fe by a single 4-wire cable
from either mainframe output connector.
