INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION PROBLEMS
1. HOW DO I CHECK MYWIRELESS NETWORK NAME (SSID) AND WIRELESS NETWORK ENCRYPTION KEY?
- Connect your PC to the router using an Ethernet cable.
- Open a web browser and enter the address of the router: http://192.168.0.1
- Log in to the router using the username admin and the password entered during the setup process.
- After logging in, you can congure the router using the Setup Wizard or make changes manually.
Notes: If the password has been changed and you forgot it, you need to reset the router to factory settings.
2. HOWTO RESETTHE DIR-X1530TO FACTORY SETTINGS?
- If you forget your router's administrator password, you can (using a tool such as a straightened paper clip) press and
hold the reset button on the bottom of the router for about 10 seconds.
Notes: Resetting the router to factory settings will delete the current conguration settings. To recongure your router,
log in as explained in question 1, then run the Setup Wizard.
3. HOW DO I ADD A NEWWIRELESS CLIENT OR COMPUTER IF I HAVE FORGOTTEN THEWIRELESS
NETWORK NAME (SSID) OR WIRELESS NETWORK ENCRYPTION KEY?
- Use the correct wireless network name (SSID) and encryption key on each computer that you want to wirelessly
connect to the router.
- Use the router conguration panel (as in question 1 above) to check and select the wireless network settings.
- Make sure you save your settings so that you can re-enter them later
to any wirelessly connected computer. There is a space at the back of this document to record this important information
for future use.
4. WHY CAN'T I ESTABLISH A CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET?
- If you are establishing a WAN connection using a wired/ADSL service, make sure your modem is turned on/connected
and working, and that the service is set up correctly.
