Safety instructions
yBob, the mini dishwasher, is intended to be used as a domestic home appliance and
for similar purposes, including: professional environments such as kitchenettes used by
personnel at the office and for use in any residential room, including hotels and motels.
PLEASE READ THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING BOB - THE MINI
DISHWASHER - AND KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
yBob can be used from the age of 8 years as well as by people with physical or mental disabilities
as long as a proper supervision is guaranteed or if the former has been provided with the
following safety guidelines and is aware of the possible risks involved with the usage of Bob.
Children shall not play with Bob. Cleaning and maintenance of the appliance shall not be carried
out by unsupervised children.
yIf the power cable is damaged, it shall be replaced either by the manufacturer, its after sales
service or by any similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard occuring.
yTo inform yourself how and when to clean the appliance, please refer to the Quick maintenace
guide.
yThe door shall not remain fully open to avoid potential incidents, yet it is highly recommended
to slightly leave it open guaranteeing air circulation and thereby decreasing standby energy
consumption.
yWARNING: Knives and other cutlery must be put in the cutlery basket module with its blades
and pikes pointing downwards.
yOnly the new tubes and power cable provided with Bob shall be used while used ones should
not be used.
yInformation on how to load the basket is provided within the section Basket configuration
according to your needs.
yThe pressure within the water inlet shall be between 0,05 Mpa and 1 Mpa.
yThe power plug shall be easily accessible after Bob’s set-up.
yAccording to standard EN50242, this dishwasher shall not be used to clean more than two
place-settings.
IMPORTANT SAFETY GUIDELINES:
yBob, the mini dishwasher, shall only be used to clean plates, glasses, forks, and knives.
yNever unplug Bob from the power network by pulling the power cable, always pull the power
plug instead.
yBefore plugging Bob to the power network, please check if the tension recommended on the
type plate matches the one of the power network. Bob has to be placed on a stable and/or even
surface. Daan Tech is not liable for damage resulting from the use of Bob on an uneven and/or
unstable surface.
yDo not touch Bob when your hands or feet are wet.
yNever open the door during a wash cycle. You may on Bob's door, open carefully and be exposed
to steam or hot water. To pause an ongoing program, please press and wait for 3 seconds.
yDo not let children climb on Bob’s door and do not place heavy objects on the door while it is
open. It may result in the dishwasher tipping over.
yDo not put living creatures, animals or pets inside Bob! ;)

2 | Set-up and ConneCtionS
2.1 | Water inlet
Plug the water inlet hose
on one side to the back of Bob and on the other
side to a water inlet via a 19 mm threaded end
(3/4 inch) and make sure the connection is
firmly tightened.
WARNING: Close the water supply tap
after each use of Bob.
Using Bob as an autonomous free-standing
dishwasher thanks to its built-in water tank. In
this case, no water inlet hose is needed! Please
use carafe to quickly fill the water tank! Bob can
be filled with either cold or hot water up to 60°C.
Please always fill the water tank before use (4L
capacity) with the door open, until you hear the
signal sound that indicates that the tank is full.

Do not overfill the tank! If you fill in
more than the water tank capacity (4 L),
the excess water will escape into Bob’s
main interior.
Warning: Do not block the water inlet of
the water tank. This must always remain
free.
2.2 | Water outlet
Plug the water drain hose to the back of Bob.
Warning: To prevent leaks, please use a screwdriver to fix the
water outlet.

The shelf should withstand a weight of 25kg (55,1 lbs) (weight of Bob + water + dishes).
You can place Bob anywhere you want, it is the smallest dishwasher ever!

Bob’s 4 feet can be adjusted up to
+1cm (+0,4in) to ensure that it is in
a perfectly horizontal position.
Warning: Bob’s inclination shall not exceed 2° in order to avoid possible flooding.
Precautions against frost:
Bob shall not be stored in a place with a temperature lower than 0°C. If such a situation could
occur, ensure that Bob has been drained using the draining program ( )and remove the
inlet water hose.
Bob might be humid inside when you receive it. In fact, every Bob has been tested before shipping
(empty cycle with clear water). Therefore, there might still be some traces of residual water.

The provided water outlet’s length is 1m50.
During a cycle, please make sure that nothing hinders the automatic opening of the door at
the completion of the program.
Warning : In the long run, the steam released during the opening of the door may damage
wooden surfaces.
Place Bob on a water-resistant surface to avoid stains. When filling Bob’s water tank or taking
out dishes, drops of water may end up on the work surface.

3 | GettinG Started

Use the water inlet pipe. The water tank is automatically filled before each cycle,
so there is no need to fill it manually. It is the preferred choice if you use Bob as a built-
in dishwasher or if you have close access to a water supply.
Use the built-in water tank: convenient, because it makes Bob completely
autonomous to use wherever you are. Fill the built-in water tank with Carafe. This is
the preferred choice if you intend to regularly move Bob around or if you do not have
access to a water inlet.
4 | CapaCitive door openinG
When you touch the door, it automatically opens.
Convenient, because you can open the door
of your Bob with your elbow, for instance, if
your hands are dirty!

To avoid problems, the capacitive door opening is
deactivated for 3 seconds after closing the door.
When Bob is disconnected from the power supply
you can still open the door but you will encounter
greater resistance due to the deactivation of the
door’s capacitive opening system.
2.3 | Power plug
WARNING: Please turn the power supply off before installing Bob.
Connect the power cable to Bob’s back.
Before you connect Bob to the power supply, please make sure that the voltage on the
type plate corresponds to the voltage of your power supply.
The appliance must be placed on an even and stable surface. Daan Tech is not liable for
any damage caused by placing the device on an uneven and/or unstable surface during use.
Do not plug or unplug by pulling the cord, but always
pull the plug directly.
Connect the water outlet hose to a siphon drain pipe (usually accessible
under the sink)
Warning: The waste water coming out of Bob can reach high
temperature of up to 70°C.

Bob adapts to multiple types of dishes thanks to its modular design and
can thus be used all sorts of occasions.

Basket
The basket allows you to place the module in many different ways.
You can place the plate module
either in the middle of the
basket or at one of the two
sides.
Choose where you want to
place the cutlery module, or
remove it if you do not need it!
Place your forks and knives so that the closing of the door is not disturbed. In fact, sharp
elements can damage the seal and cause leaks.

Some items shall not be cleaned using a dishwasher:
yKitchenware items that are made from stuck or welded parts and do not withstand heat.
yKitchenware items made of copper, tin, crystal, aluminium, zinc, or are likely to rust, wood,
synthetic fibres or which cannot withstand heat.
yKitchenware with handles made of wood, horn, porcelain or nacre.
Very often, items that can be cleaned with a dishwasher
have one of the following label on the packaging.
Knives and other kitchenware with long blades may cause hazard if they are not pointing
downwards. Thus, please make sure to load items in such a way that the blades pointing
to the bottom.
Warning: Never start a program without the main basket.

2.1 | Maximum size of plates
The dimensions of Bob’s interior are the following:

Even considering the small size, Bob fits many items of different dimensions and shapes.

2.2 | Recommendations on how to place kitchenware inside
Bob
Before putting kitchenware inside Bob, please mind some recommendations:
Bob’s configurable basket matches all kinds of kitchenware.
1. Please remove food waste, as it might block the filter
or the spray arm.
2. Soak (sauce) pans with hot water if there are burnt
stains before placing them in the basket.
3. Please mind checking that your kitchenware (in
particular lightweight ones) such as plastic containers
are fixed so that they do not flip or impede the spray
arm while the program is running.
4. Please place objects, such as pans, cups and glasses
etc., in a way that they do not store liquid while the
cycle is running.
When starting Bob you may navigate through the different menu options
of the home screen.

3.1 | How a wash cycle works
You can follow the progress of the current wash cycle on Bob’s screen

yMake sure that your dishes are positioned correctly in the basket
yPut detergent (gel or tablet or powder) inside the tank
yClose the door. Warning: the cycle cannot be initiated if the door is open or not properly closed
yChoose the most appropriate program according to your dishes and the degree of soiling
yStart the cycle on Bob’s display
yFill the water tank until the signal sound occurs if your Bob is not connected to a water
supply
Before starting a wash cycle
Warning: Ensure that the drain hose is correctly positioned at a water drain
or a container during the entire cycle. Water is drained several times during
a cycle.
Let’s go! The cycle is running now!
yPress the central button to pause the current cycle.
ySelect NO to cancel the current cycle and to launch a drain.
yYou will automatically be redirected to the home screen.
Cancelling an ongoing cycle
During a wash cycle
When the timer is close to zero, the “Drying in progress” icon is displayed.
At the end of the wash cycle
At this point, the door opens automatically and remains half-open with a 10
degree angle.
Warning Please note that hot steam is released when door opens
Depending on the program, drying might take several minutes and will not
consume additional energy. The program is not completed yet; please wait
a few minutes for the drying to finish before removing your dishes.
Warning Please note that some items are very hot and could cause
skin burns if removed too soon. Daan Tech shall not be responsible
for such incidents, which occur when dishes are removed before the
offical end of the cycle.
When the program is completed, a signal sound occurs and Bob will automatically go into standby
mode.
Upon completion of the program, leave Bob’s door open (10°) to prevent unpleasant smell. This also
reduces the energy consumption in the standby mode.
Please note that some water
residue may remain on your
dishes if you do not wait for the
drying to nish.

Please only use dishwasher detergents. Using other detergents, such as
hand soap may damage the product and end the warranty. Please note

of reach of children.

3.2 | Standard programs
Bob offers various programs dedicated to: specific occasions, different dishes and different
degrees of soiling. Please consult the following overview to find out which program is the best fit
for your needs.

Once a week or every 10 cycles
Turn the microfilter counter-clockwise to unlock the microfilter/
coarse filter combination.
Warning: Never start a cycle without the filters in place.
If your microfilter is damaged, please contact your seller's after-
sales service..
Additionally, lift out the stainless steel filter.
Rinse the 3 filters under running tap water and clean them with a
soft bristle brush
Now reinsert the micro filter/coarse waste filter combination by
turning it clockwise until it clicks to ensure its correct position.
Put the stainless steel filter back into Bob.
Filter maintenance
Remove the coarse waste filter with one hand using
its two grip tabs.
Dispose the waste in the bin, clean the coarse waste filter
with clear water and put it back in place.

Bob’s filter system, designed by Daan Tech, consists of 3 filtration stages
A. Stainless-steel filter: First filtration of soil and food particles through a perforated stainless
steel mesh. This first filtration stage allows the water to pass through, while redirecting the soil to
the second filtration stage.
B. Filter for coarse waste: Second filtration and recovery of coarse waste. Large lumps of food are
collected in this coarse waste filter.
C. Micro-filter: Third filtration stage and filtration of fine particles thanks to a 120 micron
microfilter.

3 | Cover and SCreen
To clean the exterior of Bob, simply wipe it with a damp cloth
Depending on the amount of soil on your Bob.
Please do not use any scouring agents, chemical solvents or strong detergents as this
could damage the coating of Bob.
To prevent water from getting into the electronic components, screen, buttons or door lock
system,do not use a cleaning spray.
2 | heatinG eleMentS
The heating disk must be cleaned thoroughly to avoid clogging and
reduced rinsing performance.
Once per month or every 30 cycles
To access the heating disc, please remove the 3 filters.
Then remove the protection part of the heating disc and clean it.
You then have access to the heating disc, clean it with a non-
abrasive sponge in order to avoid damaging (scratching) the non-
stick coating.
Put the protection part back in place.
Then reinsert the 3 filters.
4 | Spray arM
If you encounter problems with the spray arm and have observed that it no longer turns, it may
be a nozzle blockage that prevents it from turning. In this case, please follow the instructions
below to clean the spray arm.
To remove the spray arm, unscrew the ring at base of the
spray arm with one hand.
Wash the spray arm under running water and remove any food
residues from the spray nozzles.
Put it back in place and make sure that nothing hinders its
rotation.

A fuse has blown in your
electrical system or the circuit
breaker has tripped.
Unplug all other appliances
connected to the same electrical
circuit as Bob. Replace the fuse or
reset the circuit breaker.
The power supply is not
activated.
Check that the power cord is properly
plugged at both ends into either the
wall outlet or at Bob’s side.
The cycle does not start.
The door is open. Close the door.
The door remains open,
impossible to close it.
Check whether something is
blocking the closing of the door. If
it is not the case, please contact the
After Sales Service.
No water or not enough water
in the tank.
If you are in the “integrated tank”
mode: fill the tank up until the signal
sounds.
If you are in the “water supply” mode:
check your installation (tap open,
sufficient pressure).
The screen is frozen and the
buttons no longer respond.
Wait 3 seconds until Bob has started.
If the screen is still frozen, disconnect
and reconnect Bob.
Water does not drain out
of Bob.
The drain hose is bent. Check the drain hose and fix it with
“Bob Easyfix”.
The water outlet is blocked
(under the filter).
Clean the bottom of the interior and
the filters.

Different types of soil generate more
or less foam. However, if there is too
much foam during a cycle it can
block the spray arm. In this case,
empty the basket and run an empty
cycle before you start washing your
dishes again.
Stains on interior
surfaces.
Limescale may appear on the
surfaces.
Pour 10cl of white vinegar into Bob's
tank and run an intensive cycle.
The dishes are not clean.
The dishes are not placed
correctly in the basket.
Avoid any contact between the
different items in the basket. Please
refer to: Recommendations for the
arrangement of the dishes in the
basket.
The selected wash program is
unsuitable.
Choose a more intensive program.

All components are available for 11 years from the date of purchase of the Bob. If you have a
problem with a component of your Bob, please contact the customer service department of the
shop where your Bob was purchased.
IMPORTANT: If you need to have your Bob repaired or transported, please follow the return
procedure:
1. Drain your Bob with the Drain cycle (Drain menu ) and/or unplug the Bob and turn it over a
sink to empty the remaining water in the tank
2. Clean the filters, the spray arm with clean water and the inside of the tank with a sponge
3. Seal the water inlet and outlet with absorbent paper before sending.
4. Be careful not to wrap Bob in plastic, as the electronics may be damaged by water.
5. Place Bob in his original box with the protections provided.
6. Tape the top and bottom cardboard flaps well.
