1. If possible, install the system in a sunny place and ventilate it frequently.
2. Fill the nutrient tank with water up to its maximum level (12ℓ), after plugging the electric cord in,
turn on the power and check the operation of water pump.
3. Check the condition of water circulation and water leakage at the connecting parts.
4. If no problem, dilute hydroponic fertilizer A & B with water (refer to Page 5).
5. When pots are ready to be transplanted, place them into holes of the waterways.
6. Turn on the water pump.
7. Plants are sensitive to temperature, so maintain the proper temperature (18 to 22°C) and
set the LED lamp at 12 hours. (If the conditions fail to be met, plants stop growing or grow spindly.)
8. You may hear the sound of water flow during operation, but it does not mean the system has failed.
Adjust the amount of water by using the level control valve at the back of water tank.
Operating Instructions
1. Make certain that you must unplug the power cord before cleaning.
2. If water temperature goes up too much, plants may wither or grow spindly, maintain proper
temperature (18 ~ 23°C)
3. If water in the nutrient tank gets turbid, it may let moss grow but prevent crops from growing.
We recommend to you that you should replace water on a regular basis (1-2 times a month)
4. If roots are overgrown that they clog up the drainage holes of the waterways that will cause overflowing,
which can make floor or furniture damaged due to water.
5. Be careful about wetness on LED lamps, cords and an adaptor stay away from water.
6. While filling water in the nutrient tank, make sure that front and rear of the nutrient tank should keep
dry not to get wet.
7. Make sure this system should be maintained level. Otherwise, circulation of water doesn’t work properly.
8. Water pump must be attached on the bottom of the nutrient tank, then operate it.
9. When warning alert for the shortage of nutrient solution is ringing, turn off the pump.
10. It could come to harm due to harmful insects or disease, thus be alert to prevent them.
11. Do not disassemble this system such as body, auto-cycling nutrient tank, adaptor.
Otherwise, it may cause to malfunction and you cannot get maintenance job.
12.The adaptor is specially designed for this system, do not use the other one.
Plants to grow hydroponically
Vegetables Romaine lettuce, chicory, bok choy, water parsley, celery, strawberries, etc.
Flowers Hyacinth, rose herbs, water, rucola, mint, succulent plants, etc.

When Replace Water
If water in the nutrient tank gets turbid, moss will grow and it won’t help for environment of plants.
Thus, replace water 1~2 times a month.
Observation on Plants Growing
1. Once a week, you should take out the pot and see if roots are growing normally.
Also, check if the holes of waterways are blocked due to overgrown roots.
If so, you must remove some of them.
If roots are overgrown, they may clog up the drainage holes of the waterways that leads to overflowing,
which can make floor or furniture damaged due to water.
2. As plants grow, they tend to consume water quickly.
When warning alert of the shortage of water is ringing, turn off the pump.
After 10 minutes, fill water up to 10ℓ (refer to page 5 how to fill water in the nutrient tank).
3. During high-temperature periods, in particular, unless water is replaced once or twice a month, it may
lead to moss growing in the nutrient tank make and water gets turbid.
How to Harvest Plants
Cut leaves which are grown enough, which makes the inner leaves grow fast.
It is advisable to use scissors to cut leaves on the outside.
Do not cut stems of an aged crop before replacing with new seedlings.
When to Replace Seedlings
All seedlings planted in the pots have their own life spans and cannot be cultivated permanently.
After being transplanted to the hydroponics, leafy vegetables age over time (2 months in winter, 1.5 months
in spring and autumn, and 1 month in summer). Therefore, they have to be replaced by new seedlings.
(Growth period may differ depending on the type of species.)

How to Clean Hydroponic System
6. If the water pump gathers the foreign matter or moss, clean it with water.
(At this time, be sure to unplug the electric power plug so that water does not get into the electric parts such as
control panels and switches.)
6
1. Firstly, remove all pots from the hydroponic system, disconnect power cables (input and output) connected with
the nutrient tank shown as below, and separate the pump cord and pump hose from the body in the same way.
3. After gathering water into the nutrient tank from the waterway, separate the drain hose as shown below picture,
and discard all water in the tank (empty the tank). Then, clean the tank.
Connected Power Disconnected Hose Separated
Drainage Connected Drainage Disconnected
2. Take off the cover from each waterway and push water remained in the waterways toward water flow direction
by using a towel. This work should be done from top to bottom gradually and send water into the nutrient tank.
4. After completing clean work for the waterways and the tank, fill water in the tank.
Connect the electric power and the pump hose which disconnected for cleaning to the pump.
5. Return all pots back, power on the nutrient tank, and continue to cultivate plants.
7. Each waterway loading pots should be cleaned in the same way as when crops are replaced with new seedlings.

Q: Where should I install the hydroponic system?
A: The best place is a sunny and well-ventilated place like balcony and a living room, however, the plants
may freeze to death under the low temperature in winter time, so grow them in the living room and
ventilate frequently.
Q: How much water can the nutrient tank hold?
A: 12 liters.
Q: How much should I fill the nutrient tank at first?
A: Up to the full capacity of 12ℓwhich indicates maximum level in the nutrient tank.
Q: How much should I refill water in the nutrient tank if alarm-sounding for the water shortage?
A: Power off before filling water. 10 minutes later, fill the nutrient tank with water up to the refilling level (10ℓ).
Q: What is the appropriate time to circulate nutrient solution?
A: 10 min. is for the right after transplant seedlings into hydroponic system and 30 min. is for well grown
plants.
Q: How do I dilute water-soluble fertilizer with water?
A: Fill each bottle for hydroponic fertilizer A & B with 200㎖of water and dilute them. Then, use a syringe
enclosed to fill up each 12㎖of A & B. Add them and 12ℓ of water in nutrient tank and dilute again.
Q: When should I harvest after sowing seeds directly on a seedbed?
A: It depends on the seeds. They generally germinate in the dark place within 3~4 days, and are
transplanted to the planter after 3 weeks from germination. After 2 weeks from transplant, then harvest
is available. Harvest time of plants is about 6 weeks but it is in slightly different due to seasonal and
environment conditions (temperature, sunlight).
Q: How do I harvest crops?
A: If leaves were grown enough to eat, cut the outer leaves. Cut them at least once a week so that the inner
leaves can grow fast. (Recommend to use scissors when cutting leaves.)
Do not cut stems until the crops age and are replaced with new seedlings.
Q: Can I sow the seeds in the hydroponics directly?
A: Impossible.
Q: How long can I harvest the seedling?
A: All seedlings planted in the pots have their own lifespan and cannot be cultivated permanently.
After being transplant to the hydroponics, leafy vegetables age over time (2 months in winter, 1.5 months
in spring and autumn, and 1 month in summer). Therefore, they should be replaced by new seedlings.
(Growth period may differ depending on the type of species.)
Q: How often should I change water in the nutrient tank?
A: If water in the nutrient tank gets turbid, moss will grow and it won’t help for environment of plants.
Replace water once or twice a month to help plants grow well.
Q: What is the proper growth temperature?
A: Proper temperature is different from each plant, however recommend 18~23՞C.
If over 25՞C, plants will be overgrown.
Q&A

Q: Why does this hydroponics system require sub-lighting (LED lamps)?
A: This system is for home hydroponics. In balcony or living room, leafy vegetables go through photo-
synthesis is usually lack of required amount of sunlight. And this may cause outgrown plants or thin
and limp leaves. The LED lamp supplements the required amount of light for plants to grow properly.
Q: Do I always turn on the LED lamps for 24 hours per day?
A: No, the minimum photosynthesis time for leafy vegetable growing is 10~12 hours a day.
Q: Who is in charge of installation, repair work after purchasing this product?
A: It is difficult for common purchaser to assemble and install the product because it contains piping and
wiring that allows nutrient solution to flow. Our company and sales agents are totally responsible for
assembly, installation and maintenance.
Q: How and where do I purchase seedling?
A: You can cultivate the seedling on the seedling planter according to the method of seedling cultivation
showed in this guide page 9, 10 and 11. In case of growing seedlings under sunlight, follow instructions
in page 9, 10. (If you purchased our seedling planter, you are able to grow seedlings at home all year
round.)
Q: What kind of plants can I cultivate in this hydroponics system?
A: Romaine lettuce, bok choy, water parsley, etc.
Q: What kind of hubs are possible to grow using this system?
A: Hyacinth, mint, rucola, rose herb, etc.
Q: Is there any nourishment difference of vegetable between garden culture and hydroponics?
A: Whereas for outdoor gardening, nutrients differ dramatically depending on outside factors (temperature,
sunlight) and sometimes plants partially lack nutrients, hydroponic gardening, nutrients are evenly
supplied and special plants can be grown with additional nutrients. Hydroponic gardening produces
softer leaves with better texture compared to outdoor gardening. (Only slight nutritional difference).
Q: How about the growth rate between Hydroponic System in LED lighting and garden culture
in sun lighting?
A: Hydroponic culture is 1.5 times fast.
Q: Is there any yield difference between garden culture and Hydroponics per unit area?
A: Hydroponics produces about 1.5 to 2 times than garden culture in the same area. (According to the
layer quantity of hydroponics, harvest may be 1.5~5 times.) The reason is that lighting time is double
(24 hours lighting system) and growing conditions (nutrient, temperature/humidity control, not affected
by the weather, little insect damage) is better in the hydroponics system, so grow more quickly and
increase more harvest.
Q: Any difference of taste and chewing texture between garden culture and hydroponics?
A: Vegetables grown in a hydroponics system are more soft and munchy, so they are often used for
salad material. There is the research report of Japanese Plant Research Institute that lettuce cultivate
in hydroponic system has more nutrients than in garden culture, especially vitamin C is three times in
the hydroponic system with LED lamp.
(In an interview with Mr. Gang Chang-ho, Director of National Academy of Agricultural Science from
NEWSIS dated March 23, 2011.)
