5 Safety Instructions
Only use the device if it is in technically perfect condition, according to the
intended purpose, in a safety and hazard conscious manner and in compli-
ance with the following safety instructions:
• Qualied Personnel
The mounting, connection, commissioning and conguration of the de-
vice may only be carried out by qualied personnel.
This also applies to the maintenance, inspection and repair of the device
in compliance with the regulations of the DIN VDE 0701-0702 series
of standards (VDE 0701-0702: “Inspection after repair, modication of
electrical appliances – Periodic inspection on electrical appliances –
General requirements for electrical safety”).
• Regulations
The use of video and audio security/surveillance systems is, in general,
strictly regulated.
Before using the device, inform yourself about the currently valid laws
and regulations regarding data, worker and environmental protection
and ensure compliance with them.
• System Components
Only use internal components that have been tested and approved by
Dallmeier.
Inappropriate internal components may cause malfunctions, damage
and data loss and may result in the loss of warranty.
• Modications to the Device
Do not make any modications to the hardware or software of the device
that have not been tested and approved by Dallmeier.

• Condensation
If the device is brought from a cold to a warm environment, resulting
condensation may cause malfunctions and damage. In this case, wait
until the device has reached room temperature (up to 8 hours) before
commissioning.
• Earthing/Grounding & Equipotential Bonding
For the safety of persons (protection against dangerous contact voltages)
and devices (protection against over-voltages) as well as for the immuni-
ty of information and communication technolog equipment to electro-
magnetic interferences (EMI), all protective measures, which are speci-
ed by the currently applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards and which
provide for a standard-compliant earthing/grounding and a correct
equipotential bonding of electrical and electronic devices, are mandatory
and must be fullled by all means.

• Lightning Storms
To avoid damage to the device by electrical surge during lightning storms,
all protective measures, which are specied by the currently applicable
DIN, VDE and ISO standards and which provide for a standard-compliant
lightning protection equipotential bonding, are mandatory and must be
fullled by all means.
• Operating Conditions
Unfavorable operating conditions may shorten the lifetime of the device,
may cause malfunctions, damage and data loss and may result in the loss
of warranty. Observe the specications given in the technical data, the
operating condition requirements and the maintenance instructions.
• Foreign Bodies in the Device
If objects or liquids get into the device, immediately disconnect it from
the power supply (pull out the power plug).
Contact the sales partner responsible for your area.
• Burnt Smell from the Device
If you notice burnt smell or a formation of smoke coming from the
device, immediately disconnect it from the power supply (pull out the
power plug).
Contact the sales partner responsible for your area.
• Opening the Device
The device may only be opened by qualied personnel for commission-
ing, inspection, maintenance and repair.
• Disposal of the Device
Do not dispose waste electrical and electronic equipment into the house-
hold trash.
Disconnect the device from the power supply.
Remove all connected peripherals.
Return the device to the sales partner responsible for your area.

6 General Notes
Scope of Delivery
The standard scope of delivery includes:
• Operating System Windows 10 Pro (64Bit)
• Rack mounting rails
• Two redundant power supplies
• Two power supply cables
• Product documentation
The scope of delivery may dier depending on the ordered equipment,
device variant or country of destination.
Transportation and Packaging
Store the original packaging for later transportation.
Dallmeier is not responsible for any damage resulting from unprofessional
or improper transportation.
The device should only be shipped in the original packaging.
If the original packaging is no longer available, ensure that the used packag-
ing suciently protects the device against damage, moisture, heat and cold.

Warranty
The terms and conditions valid at the time the contract was signed shall
apply.
Appropriate Use
The Workstation 3 Rack-Mount is equipped with a powerful 8-core CPU and
16 GB DDR4 RAM. In conjunction with the integrated license for the Win-
dows 10 operating system, it is an optimal and versatile platform for use in
security control centers.

7 Requirements
Ambient Conditions
The device is designed for indoor use. However, the device may not be in-
stalled and operated in environments with:
• a large amount of dust and dirt,
• steam or oil vapors (e.g. kitchen),
• direct sunlight during a longer period of time,
• high heat radiation (e.g. radiator),
• improper ambient temperatures,
• nearby strong radiation sources (e.g. radio transmitters, magnetic elds),
• corrosive gases and liquids (e.g. salt water),
• insucient air ventilation (e.g. closed and unventilated cabinet).
NOTICE
Damage to the device due to unfavorable ambient conditions
Use of the device under unfavorable ambient conditions may shorten its
lifetime and may cause malfunction or damage to the device.
➡Only install/operate the device under favorable ambient conditions.

Rack Operation
The device is designed for installation and operation in a 19’’ standard rack
with active ventilation. The required mounting rails are supplied.
Rack Installation
➡Ensure a free space of at least 60cm at the front of the rack in order
to be able to fully open the door.
➡Ensure a free space of at least 75cm at the rear of the rack in order to
enable sucient air circulation and access for maintenance.
➡Install the rack at a place with limited access (device or server room).
➡Ensure that the rack is installed in a stable way and is suitable to
withstand the weight of the mounted devices.
Device Installation
➡Install heavy devices at the bottom of the rack.
➡Note that the temperature in the top of the rack can be higher than
at the bottom.
➡Plan a distance between the devices in order to allow a better air
circulation.
Operation in the Rack
➡Keep the doors of the rack closed in order to ensure a sucient air
circulation.
Elevated Ambient Temperature
The ambient temperature in a multi-unit rack may be higher than the
room ambient.
➡Ensure that the maximum ambient temperature in the rack complies
with the requirements specied in the technical data.

Reduced Air Flow
The air ow in a closed rack may be reduced.
➡Ensure that the amount of air ow required for a safe operation
is not compromised.
➡Ensure sucient ventilation with 4’’ (10cm) of free space on the front
and rear side of the device.
WARNING
Electrical shock caused by live electrical parts
Risk of death or serious injury
➡Operate the device only with closed drive bays.
Secure Earthing
➡Ensure anytime a proper grounding, preferably through a direct
grounding of the rack.
NOTICE
Damage to the device or serious malfunctions due to the lack of or
improper earthing
Damage to electronic components caused by lightning strikes or over-volt-
ages as well as malfunctions due to electromagnetic interferences
➡Carry out all protective measures for a standard-compliant earthing
and a correct (lightning protection) equipotential bonding of the device
in accordance with the currently applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards
in order to ensure the safety of the device (protection against lightning
strikes and over-voltages) and its immunity to electromagnetic interfer-
ences (EMI).
Observe the locally applicable regulations regarding the minimum
required cross-section of the earthing/grounding cable.

Power Supply
The workstation is operated with 115-230 V AC ±5%, 50/60 Hz via two power
supply cables.
➡Do not use a Y-cable to connect both power supplies to one socket.
➡Use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to protect the device from
voltage spikes and to keep it in operation in case of power failure.
Use the two supplied power supply cables.
WARNING
Electrical shock caused by live electrical parts
Risk of death or serious injury
➡The connection of peripheral equipment may only be carried out by
qualied personnel and in a voltage-free state.
➡Before connecting or disconnecting a power supply unit, make sure
that the power supply unit is disconnected from the mains socket (pull
the power plug out of the socket).
NOTICE
Danger due to dicult separation from the circuit
The plug of the supply line serves as a separator from the supply circuit.
➡Use an outlet installed close to the device.
➡Make sure the outlet is easily accessible.

8 Maintenance
Maintenance and Inspection of the Device
Maintenance and inspection of the device may only be carried out by quali-
ed personnel in compliance with the regulations of the DIN VDE 0701-0702
series of standards (VDE 0701-0702: “Inspection after repair, modication of
electrical appliances – Periodic inspection on electrical appliances – General
requirements for electrical safety”).
WARNING
Personal injury caused by electric stroke
The device is equipped with two redundant power supply units.
➡Ensure that both supply lines are disconnected from the supply circuit.
WARNING
Personal injury caused by incorrectly replacement of the battery
➡The battery of the mainboard may only be replaced at the Dallmeier
Service Centre.
Cleaning the Housing
If it is necessary to clean the housing of the device, observe the following
notes:
NOTICE
Damage to the surfaces of the device due to improper cleaning practices
➡Clean the outside of the housing with a clean, soft, dry and
antistatic cloth.
➡Do not use detergents.

9 Mounting
Mounting, connection and commissioning of the device may only be carried
out by qualied personnel.
Observe the installation instructions of the supplied mounting rails

The device can weigh up to 30 kg depending on the equipment

device (holding/mounting).
