Basic Requirements
To start using NEURAL DSP Plugins you will need:
1. A computer capable of multitrack audio processing, Mac
or PC.
2. A supported host software.
3. An iLok User ID.
4. A NEURAL DSP Account

Supported Host Softwares
To use NEURAL DSP software you need an audio software
which can load “plugins”. Our software is not designed to
work as standalone software. We officially support the
following software to host our plug-ins:
Pro Tools 11 - 2018: Mac & PC: AAX Native
Logic Pro 9 and X: Mac: AU
Cubase 9: Mac & PC: VST
Ableton Live 9.X or later: Mac: AU & VST; Windows: VST
Reaper 5.x: Mac: AU & VST; Windows: VST
GETTING STARTED
Support is offered for this operating systems and software
platforms. (Please check that your host software is
compatible with your operating system first).
iLok User ID And iLok License Manager
Please create an iLok account in http://www.ilok.com and
download the latest version of the iLok license manager
application. This will allow you to register your serial number
and deposit your license in your computer or an iLok USB
key.
Install iLok License Manager, open up the program and log
in with the iLok User ID information you created in ilok.com.
When logged in, a list of available destinations for license
placement will be displayed under your User ID, such as your
computer and iLok USB Keys. A list of all currently activated
products will be shown in the main right list window.
Inactive licenses will be shown in the “available” tab on the
top.
You can drag and drop licenses to deposit them in your
computer or iLok USB Keys.

You will have also received a serial number from us to
your email and also displayed in your Account tab inside
neuraldsp.com. You will have to introduce this serial the first
time you load up your host application after installing.
GETTING STARTED
NEURAL DSP User Account
In your NEURAL DSP account you will have access to your
product installers and latest updates.
To login into your user account, go to http://www.neuraldsp.
com and click on the “Login” button in the upper right-
hand corner. If you don’t have a user account, create one by
clicking “Create Account” inside the same login window.

GETTING STARTED
You will have also received a serial number from us to
your email and also displayed in your Account tab inside
neuraldsp.com. You will have to introduce this serial the first
time you load up your host application after installing.
After logging in to your iLok Account, click on the “Activate”
button and go through the process to authorize your
software. Enter your serial number and if valid, a green ticks
will show up.
Installing NEURAL DSP Software
When you make a purchase at Neuraldsp.com download
your software installer from the link attached to your order
confirmation, from the email received from us or simply
access your account and download it from there.

Log in with your iLok account.
If you have not created one yet, click on “Create new account”
link and you will be redirected to ilok.com to create an
account.

Successful Activation window will be next, confirming you
have registered your product correctly.
You will see all available locations to place your license.
Select either your computer or iLok USB key .

Microtubes B7K Ultra [ORIGINAL HARDWARE FEATURES]
The Microtubes B7K Ultra features all the versatility and
sonic possibilities its predecessor is known for plus amazing
features: (1) A dedicated Footswitch to engage the overdrive
section independently. (2) A Master volume to control the
overall unit level. (3) Three way toggle switches for each mid
control, with a total of 6 different mid frequencies at your
disposal the B7K Ultra allows you to create and tailor your
tone to perfection: From crisp, punchy clean preamp to
obliterating high gain distortion, and everything in between.
The B7K is an universal tone crafting machine.
GETTING STARTED
File Locations
NEURAL DSP plug-ins will be installed in the appropriate
default location for each plug-in format (VST, VST3, AAX,
AU) unless different custom location was selected in the
process. To uninstall, delete the files manually from your
respective plugin format folders.

GETTING STARTED
Grunt Switch
Sets the amount of low frequency content to saturate by
selecting between three different bass boost levels before
the clipping stage.
Bass
+-12dB @ 100Hz
Lo Mids
+-12dB switchable 250Hz, 500Hz and 1kHz
Hi Mids
+-12dB switchable 750Hz, 1.5KHz and 3kHz
Treble
+-12dB @ 5kHz
Master
Whereas the Level Knob controls the output of the overdrive
section the Master volume adjusts the overall volume of the
unit. Ideal for fine tuning the output on clean mode. It also
serves as a DI level control.
Blend
Mixes the clean input signal with the overdriven signal. The
clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the

Vintage Ultra [ORIGINAL HARDWARE FEATURES]
The Vintage Ultra is the result of the finest engineering
process we have ever accomplished. 40 years ago it was
necessary to carry a massive amp to have a rich, tight and
articulate sound for bass players. Today, all you need is a
super portable preamp which enables on one side a massive
clean sound, and from the other side, a tasty saturated
sound. This is a true elixir for low end lovers.

Plugin exclusive Features
On top of all the original features of the original pedals, we
include:
Input and Output Gain knobs
Input will affect on how much signal the plugin will feed in.
This will affect the amount of distortion range of the drive
pot. Adjust according to your purposes and input signal
levels. Output will affect on how much signal the plugin will
feed out to your DAW channel. Meters will show if input or
output signal are clipping by holding a red indicator for 3
seconds.
Link/Unlink EQ Switch
Originally the pedals come with a fixed EQ that will be
applied to both Clean and Distorted Signal. With this new
feature it is possible to have different and independent
EQ´s for each of them. Activate switch to make them
independent. In linked EQ same EQ applies to both pedals
and every channel. Unlinked EQ makes all EQ´s separated
from each other.

Stereo Signal Processing Switch
Original hardware has the power to process only a mono
input signal. With the Stereo switch you are able to process
a Stereo input signal. Ideal for experimenting with new bass
sounds, synths and more.
Quality Switch
Changes the quality with which the plugin will process the
signal, based on different levels of oversampling (44.1KHz
and 48 KHz are 2x 4x 8x and for higher sample rates 1x 2x 4x
respectively). The higher the quality more processing CPU
power needed.
VDU/B7U Switch
Change between both pedals inside the same plugin, each
pedal will keep its own configurations, except for global
plugin configurations such as Quality, Input, Output, Stereo,
EQ and Resize.
Resize Button
Toggles between the two different window sizes for the
plugin. Allows to have a smaller or bigger view depending
on your workflow needs.
PLUGIN FEATURES
Presets (v1.2.2.)
This functionality allows the user to Save, Import and Export
presets, understood by parameter values within the plugin.
· The arrow on the right side of the list displays a list of the
presets included by factory and the ones created by the
user.
· The Disquette Icon on the left, allows the user to save the
current configuration as a preset.
· The trash bin on the right allows the user to delete the
active preset. (This action cannot be undone).
If you tweak an existing saved preset and you need to recall
the saved version, please load another preset and load back
your desired preset. Clicking on the name of the modified
preset once its loaded will NOT recall its values.

Cabinet Simulation
We have designed a Cabinet simulation for this plugin.
It includes 7 microphones and a Sub Kick with a range of
different positions.
Position
Controls where the Microphone is, meaning from the Center
of the Cone, to the Edge of the Cone. (Disabled when loading
external IR file).
Distance
Controls the Distance of the Mic between close to the Cab
and Far towards the Room. (Disabled when loading external
IR file).
PLUGIN FEATURES
Mic Level
Controls the level of the selected impulse.
Pan
Controls the output panning of the selected impulse.
On/Off Switch
Disables or Enables the respective IR loader Section.
Ø Phase Inverter Switch
Inverts the phase of the loaded impulse.
Impulse Loader Selector Box
Drop down menu for selecting factory Microphones and
loading your own IR files.
Drag to position
This feature refers to clicking on the Microphone, will allow
you to position the Microphone within the Cone area. The
values will be reflected on the Position and Distance knobs
and vice versa.

PLUGIN FEATURES
GUI Basics
Darkglass Ultra plugins feature knobs and switches within
the graphic user interface (also known as GUI). These
resemble the ones in Darkglass physical analog hardware
with added control.
Knobs
To control the knobs in the Darkglass plug-ins, use the mouse:
To turn a knob right or clockwise, click on the control with
your mouse and slide the cursor up. To turn a knob left or
anticlockwise click on the knob with the mouse and slide the
cursor down. Returning a Knob to its Default Value:
To return to the knobs “default value”, hold down the Option
key on Mac or the Alt key on PC and click on the control or
double click the knob. Adjusting a Knob with Fine Control:
To fine adjust the knob values , hold down the Command key
(Mac) or the Shift key (Windows) while dragging the mouse.
Switches
Darkglass Ultra plugins have switches of two types, stomp
and toggle (as shown above). Stomps are used to handle on/
off in Distortion and Bypass section and Toggle are used to
change frequency values of the EQ section. To change the
value of a stomp, click to On/Off.
To change the value of a toggle switch, click and hold the
control while drag Up/Down . For stomp switches an LED
type indicator will illuminate to let you know a parameter
is engaged.
Presets (v1.2.0.)
To save a preset simply click on the Floppy Disk Icon next
to the “Preset” text and give your new preset a name. For
overwriting just check it has the same name and press ok.
To delete load the preset you want to delete and press the
trash bin icon on the right side of the name bar. To load a
preset press the down arrow on the preset name and select
your preset from the drop down list. To import presets,
drag and drop them on the plugin or click the import
icon next to the trash bin. This will redirect you to navigate
your computer folders to select an .XML preset file. Also
to import external presets as files, you can copy your .xml
presets into the preset folder in the following locations.
MAC: User/Library/Audio/Presets/Neural DSP/Darkglass
Ultra
*TIP: If you cant locate your User library, press and hold
down the Option key on the keyboard and press “Go” on
the finder toolbar.
Windows: C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Roaming\
