Installation
ThefollowingaresimpleexamplesofhowtointegratetheMP6000MDintoanyvideosetup.Obviously
therearetoomanypossiblecombinationstocoverthemallindetail,buttheseexamplescoverthemost
frequentlyusedinputandoutputcombinations.
1.ConnectingcompositevideoandstereoaudiooutputsfromtheMP6000MDtoaTVset/
monitor. Alternativelyyoumayprefertoconnecttheaudiooutputstoanamplifierorspeakers.
2.ConnectingYUVoutputfromtheMP6000MDtoaProjector.

3.ConnectingY/CorCompositevideoandstereoaudiooutputsfromananaloguecamcorderor
DVDplayertotheMP6000MD.
4.ConnectingaDV(IEEE1394)outputfromaDVcamcorderorDVDecktotheMP6000MD.With
thisconnectionyoucanalsouseDVdevicecontrolfromtheMP6000MDtocueupthetape.

QuickStartGuide:
Astheheadingsuggests,thisisthequickstartsection.Ifyourequiremoredetailedoperating
instructionspleasegotopage18.
Step1:TurnonpowertotheMP6000MD,thesourceandthemonitor.
Step2:Pressthe“POWER”button,toturnontheMP6000MD.Theword“MP6000”andthen
“BOOT”willappearonthedisplaywindow.Afteracoupleseconds,itwillpresent“NODisc”
thatmeansthetrayisempty.Pleaseplaceadisconthetray.
Note:TheupperrightwindowontheTVscreenwillshowtwolinesofdata.Oneisthe
statusoftheunit,theotheroneistheinputformatsetting.
Step3:Pressthe“EJECT”buttononce,thetraywillcomeout,theword“OPEN”appearsinthe
window.PleaseputtheDVD+RorRWdiscwiththeprintingsurfaceup,andthenpressthe
“EJECT”buttonagain.ThetraywillreturnintotheMP6000MD.
Step4:Theword'Reading'appearsonthescreen,intheupperrightcorner;thismeansthe
MP6000MDisreadingthedisc.Ifthedisccontainspreviousrecordings,itwillbedetected
duringthereadprocess.Ifthereisarecordingpresentyoucanpressthe“PLAY”keyandplay
outtheprogramimmediately.
Step5:Ifitisablank/brandnewdisc,theMP6000MDwillstarttheformattingprocess
immediately.A windowwillappearsaying“FORMATTING.”Theentireprocesswilltake
approximately20second.
Note:It’snecessarytoformatthediscbeforeyoustartrecording.
Step6:Findthe“VIDEOINPUT”undertheMENUbuttontochoosetheinputsignalsource.
Step7:Findthe“VIDEOSTANDARD”undertheMENUbuttontochoosethepropervideo
standard,NTSCorPAL.
Step8:Findthe“RECORDQUALITY”undertheMENUbuttontochooseHQ/SP/LP/EP/SLP
recordquality.Oncethisissetyoucanstartrecording.
Step9:Beforeyoustarttorecord,youcanadjustvideoinputsourcequalitybyusingthecolor
processoroftheMP6000MD.

c.Pressthe“ENTER”buttonagain,anditwillreturntothepreviousmenu.
d.Toadjustothercategories,pleaserepeattheaboveprocedure.
Step9:Press'REC'and'PLAY'atthesametime,andtheMP6000MDwillstartrecording.The
“REC”symbolappearsontheTVmonitortoshowthatarecordingisinprogressanda
secondsymbolindicatesthetypeofdiscbeingcreated“DVD+R”/“DVD+RW”.
Step10:Ifyouwanttostoprecording,pressthe“STOP”button.Note:Once“STOP”hasbeen
pressedtheMP6000MDwillcreateatitle/track.Anysubsequentrecordingswillbecreatedas
newtitles/tracks.
Step11:Oncetherecordingiscomplete,pressthe“STOP”button.(Ittakesafewsecondstostop
theprocess.Dependingonthetimeframeyouhaverecordedinthedisc.)Then,pressthe
“PLAY”button,youcanplaybackthevideowhichyoujustrecordedimmediately.
Step12:Changethetitlename.Beforethediscisfinalized,youcanchangethetitlenameasyou
wish.Pressthe“TITLE”button,andthenpress“MENU”.Goto“1.EDITTITLENAME”and
press“ENTER”.ItwillpopupawindowontheTVscreen.Thenfollowthescreendisplayto
changethenameforthatvideoclip.
Step13:“FINALIZE”thedisc:IfwanttoplaybackrecordedDVD+RdiscinotherDVDplayers,you
havetofinalizethediscfirst.Pressthe“FINALIZE”button,choose“CONFIRM”andpressthe
“ENTER”button.A“Finalize”ProgressBarwillappearontheTVmonitor.Whenthebar
disappears,theprocessiscomplete.Theentireprocesstakesapproximately1minute.

Note:Whilefinalizingthedisc,allbuttonsonthefrontpanelareinactive.Donotturnoff
thepower,duringfinalizationasdiscdamagemayoccur.
Ifunabletofinalizethedisc,pressthe“TITLE”,“STOP”,andthen“FINALIZE’”buttonsto
finalizethedisc.
Step14:“ERASE”thedisc:ThisfunctionisonlyusedinDVD+RWdiscs.Itcannotbeusedwith
DVD+Rdisc.DVD+RWdisccanberecordedanderasedrepeatedly.
Ifthereisanyerrorandtherecordingneedstobeerased,therearetwodifferentmethodstodo
it.
a. Erasetheentire“Title”(Track)inDVD+RWdisc.
Press“ERASE”button,theentirediscwillbeerasedinabout20second.
b. ErasethelasttrackinDVD+RWdisc.
Press“TITLE”button,thenpress“MENU”.Goto“2.ERASELASTTITLE”,andchoose
“CONFIRM”.Thenpress“ENTER”buttonagain.
Youcanfollowthisproceduretoerasetheprevioustrack.
Note:IftheDVD+RWdischasbeenclosed(madecompatible),youcanonlyerasetheentire
disc,notthelasttrack.

ConnectthepowercordtotheMP6000MDACInputSocket,andconnecttheotherendtoasuitable
socket.
PoweringUp
WithyoursourceandmonitorconnectedyoucannowpoweruptheMP6000MD.
LifttheprotectivecoverfromthePowerOnbutton,pressthebuttonandclosetheprotectivecover.
ThePowerOnbuttonshouldnowbeilluminated.
OnScreenDisplay
TheMP6000MDdisplaysconfigurationinformationintwoareas: AnonscreendisplayontheTVmonitor
andalsoontheLCDdisplay.
TheinformationontheTVmonitorwillmostoftenappearinthetoprighthandcornerofthescreen.Itis
superimposedoverthevideoimage–itdoesnotappearontherecording.
