PC’sscreentohighqualityDVorSDIsignal.PPT100isidealforshootingspeeches,seminarsor
presentations;itallowsvideodirectorstodoonthespotswitchingbetweenlivescenesandPCscreens.You
willbeamazedbywhatyoucandowiththisadvancedpieceoftechnology.Inordertobringoutthemaximum
performanceofthissoftware,werecommendthatyouspendsometimereadingthismanualcarefully.

audience.WhentheyswitchsourcesbetweenPCandothermediaontheprojectoritcausesthetransient
blackpictureandinterruptstheflowofthemeeting.ThesolutionisahighendVGAtovideoconverter,which
convertsVGAtohighresolutionvideo,enablingthePCoutputtobeselectedviaavideoswitcher.

Installation
Blackmagic DeckLink Card Installation (For SDI or YUV solution only)
PPT-100 software Installation
1. DoubleclickonPPT100software.(InWindowsXP)
2. Clickon“Next”

3. ReadthrutheLicenseAgreement,andthenclickon“Yes”
4. Theprogramwilllistrecommendsystemconfiguration. Pleaseconfirmifyoursystemhasfulfilledthe
requirement.Then,clickon“Next”.
5. Pleaseentertheserialnumber(foundontherearoftheCDbox).Then,clickon“Next”.Ifyoudon’thave
theserialnumber,thedefaultsettingis
“DEMO”.Then,itwillinstallthissoftwareas
ademoversion.Itwillshow“DATAVIDEO
PPT100”logoonscreen.
6. SelectTypical(recommendforgeneralusers).Then,clickon“Next”.

7. PPT100shouldbesuccessfullyinstalledintothecomputer.Theprogramwillaskyoutorestartthe
computernoworrestartitlater,makeyourchoice,andthenclickon“Finish”.
8. NowyoucanusethePPT100software.
Note1:Therewillbeasemitransparent“DataVideoCGandPPT100”logoontheTVscreenifyoudidnot
activateandregisterthesoftware.Thislogowillalwaysbeonifademoversionisbeingused.Thelogo
willnotbepresentwhenyouhaveactivatedthesoftware.
ThePerformanceofScreenCapture
TheperformanceissueiscriticalbecausePPT100consumesalotofCPUresourcewhileexecutingscreen
conversion.PPT100willnotrunwellwithotherheavyloadingsoftwareatthesametime.
Aftertestingdifferentkindsofgraphiccards,theIntelGraphicsMediaAccelerator900chipisoutstandingat
providingthebestperformanceforPPT100.
However,3Danimationgames,videoencoding/decodingsoftwareandanysoftwarethatneedstoprocess
complicatedanimationsormovingpictureswillcertainlydragdowntheperformanceofPPT100.

Set Up
Click[Setup]inthePPT100maindialogbox,thefollowingdialogboxwillbelaunched.
Theparametersin[PPT100Setup]dialogboxareasbelow:
PCScreen Select[Default]toadoptthePCscreenresolution.
Select[1024x768]totemporarilychangetheresolutiontobe1024x768;theresolutionwillbe
changedbackwhenPPT100isclosed.

Beforeselecting[SDI(DeckLink)],aDeckLinkcardhastobeinstalledinthePC.
Zoomin/2X/4X
PPT100canzoomineither2Xor4X.Click[F11]keyonthekeyboardtozoomin2X;click
[F12]tozoomin4X.Click[F10]tosetbackthedefaultsize.Incasethese[F10],[F11]or[F12]
havedifferentusageontheapplicationyouwanttoconvert,youcanselectotherhotkeysto
performthezoominfunction,
AutoRun Select[AutoRun],thenexttimeyourunPPT100,youdon’thavetoclickthe[Run]button,
PPT100willcapturethePCscreenandconvertittovideoSDI/DVsignal.Alsothewindowof
PPT100willbeautomaticallyhiddenasanicononthedesktoolbar.
Ifyouchangethesettingofthefirst3itemslikePCScreen/TVSystem/Output,whenclickingthe[OK]
button,PPT100willbeclosed.Youhavetorestarttheprogramtoseetheresultofyoursetting.

Click[DefaultPCFullScreen]todofullscreencapture.
Youcanseethevaluesof“Top/Left/Right/Bottom”areallzeroswhichmeantherewon’tbeanycroppingofthe
PCscreen.
ResizingScreenCaptureArea
Youcanalsosetyour desiredvaluesof“Top/Left/Right/Bottom”
fields.Thevaluesrepresent thepixelstobecropped.Becarefulthe
valuesof“Top/Left’mustbe positive.Andthevaluesof“Right/Bottom”
mustbenegative.
Youcanusedifferentways tosetthevaluesofcropping.
1.Tousethespinbuttons, clickthebuttonsto+1or1ofthevalue.
2.Placethecursoronany fieldsofTop/Left/Right/Bottom,holdand
movetheleftbutton horizontally,andthenthevaluecanbe
adjusted.
Beforeyousetthevaluesforscreencropping,clickthe[Test]buttontopreviewtheresultofyoursettingonTV.
TocaptureanApplicationWindow
Youcanselecttocaptureonlyaspecificapplicationwindow.

thecroppingarea.Ifyouclick[ClientArea],the
framewindowandthemenubarswillbeexcludedfromthecroppingarea.
TV Video Margins
Typicaltelevisionsandmanymonitorslosenearly20%ofthepictureby"cropping"theimage.Thislostportion
featureiscommonlyreferredtoasoverscan.Theoverscaningfeaturemaycauseaproblemwhenconverting
fromPCscreentoTV.Forexample,menubars,criticalforoperatingthecomputer,maybelostabovethe
visibleareaofthescreen.Tosolvethisproblem,ThePCscreenmustbeshrunkbothhorizontallyand
vertically.PPT100allowsyoutosetTVvideomargins.TosetMarginsissimilartosettingPCScreen
Cropping.
Clickthe[FullTVScreen]buttontosetFullTVscreenoutput.
Clickthespinbuttonsto+1or1ofthevalue.
OrplacethecursoronanyfieldsofTop/Left/Right/Bottom,holdandmovetheleftbuttonhorizontally,andthen
thevaluecanbeadjusted.(Note:Top/Leftvaluesmustbepositive,Right/Bottomvaluesmustbenegative.)
BeforeyousetthemarginsforyourPCscreen,clickthe[Test]buttontopreviewtheresultofyoursettingon
TV.
Select Zoom in Key
PPT100providesthreehotkeystozoomtheareaaroundthecursorinto1X,2Xor4X.Bydefaultthe
Functionkeys[F10]/[F11]/[F12]willbesetaszoom1X,2X,and4X.Incasethese[F10],[F11]or[F12]have
adifferentusageontheapplicationyouwanttoconvert,youcanselectotherhotkeystoperformthezoomin
function,theresultwillbeshowninthemaindialogbox:

Flicker Free
Select[FlickerFree]toeliminateallflickerthatiscausedbytelevisioninterlacing.Howeverifthetelevision
equipmentconnectedhasaflickerfreefunction,forbestresultsdonotselect[FlickerFree]astheresolution
willbereduced.
Cursor Displaying
PPT100can’tcapturetherealcursorfromthePC,butitcandetectthepositionofthecursor.Souserscanselect
oneof10providedcursors.If[None]ischosen,nocursorwillbedisplayed.
Conversionbuttons
Thefollowing[Run]/[Test]/[Stop]buttonsaretocontroltheconversion.
[Run] tostartPCtoSDI/DVconversion,thePPT100windowwillshrinktoanicononthedesktoolbar.
[Test] tostartPCtoSDI/DVconversion,thePPT100windowremainsthesamesizeandposition.Click
thisbuttontoquicklypreviewtheresultsofdifferentsettings.
[Stop]StoptheconversionandagreenmaskwillappearontheTV.
Start Conversion
Clickthe[Run]buttonforSDI/DVconversion.PPT100windowwillshrinktoanicononthedesktoolbar.If
youselect[AutoRun]inthe[Setup]dialogbox,wheneverPPT100isexecuted,itstartsSDI/DVconversionat
thesametime.
Zoom In
IfyouwanttozoomintoonecertainareaofthePCscreen,firstplacethecursorinthemiddleofthisarea,
clickthefunctionkeyyousetforzoomin2Xor4X.PPT100thenwillzoomintheareaaroundyourcursor.
Audio Synchronization
Thereis0.3~1.0secondofconversiondelaydependingonSDIorDVoutput.Thetimingofaudiomustbe
adjustedtomatchtheconversiondelaytovideo.
Howtousethisprogram
1. ClickthePPT100icononthedesktoptoexecutethisprogram.
2. SetthescreenareaandotherfeaturesinPPT100.
3. Press[Test]tooutputthePCscreentovideowithanormalPPT100window.Press[Run]tooutputthePC
screentovideoandhidethePPT100window.
4. After[Run],theselectedPCscreenwilltransfertoDVorSDIvideosignal,
5. Youcanoperatemanyapplications*suchasMicrosoft’sPowerPoint,etc.(Fortheapplicationsoftware,

6. Press[Stop]tostoptheoutput.
