Pedelec stands for Pedal Electric Cycling
It designates a bike with electric assisted pedalling
having the following characteristics:
- Pedelecs combine a bike with an electric motor,
a rechargeable battery, control electronics, and
sensors for recognising crank movements.
- Pedelecs are considered bikes and may be used
without driving licence and without automobile
liability insurance
- A helmet is not required but we do recommend
wearing a bicycle helmet
- All pedelecs sold in the EU must comply with the
DIN EN 15194 guideline
- While pedalling pedelecs are assisted by a motor
from 0 to 25 km/h

After 16 years of successfully producing ergometers, daum
electronic made the move into the outdoor world: By deve-
loping and manufacturing the pedelecs we break into new
grounds and bring our know-how and experience from
the production of ergometers to a new generation of
bikes. Daum pedelecs can be used for health promotion
as well as for recreational biking, they are equipped with
a powerful electric motor providing adequate pedalling
assistance for every situation. The bicycles feature premi-
um bike components of well-known manufacturers and
have the control intelligence – thanks to the outstanding
dashboards of our own development – to help make your
riding experience as trouble free as possible.

Best Quality for a Trouble Free Riding Experience
Fitness
Daum pedelecs combine premium and aesthetical fitness training
and biking fun. They bring the proven daum ergometer technolo-
gy to the roads. Defineable limit values provide for controlled biking
and a measured enhancement of endurance and fitness. All the data,
for instance the heart rate, ride time, speed, and distance can be sto-
red on a SD card, reviewed, and evaluated. An ideal technical prere-
quisiste not only for therapeutic purposes: health oriented users can
pedal for preset distances under guidance by the tour management
system and obtain their individual biological values.
Safety
In order to always give bikers the feeling of an unrestricted reliabili-
ty in their day-to-day use, all pedelecs are equipped with the daum
safety pack. This high standard already begins with the produc-
tion: all components are assembled in the daum factory according
to strictest and latest DIN standards. The dashboard software of the
own development takes over everyday safety control. A 3D position
sensor monitors the vertical and horizontal tilt and reacts immedia-
tely when the limit is exceeded by switching the motor on or off. The
motor itself is powered by a rechargeable battery tested for safety.
Also when the brake is activated, the motor will switch off immedia-
tely to prevent uncontrolled bike movements. Moreover, the pedelec
as well as the dashboard are equiped with a PIN controlled theft pro-
tection. In case of emergency the bicycle can be traced everywhere
via position data transmission through SMS. All the pedelecs, inclu-
ding the rechargeable battery, are covered by a two year warranty.
Comfort
Thanks to outstanding technology, daum pedelecs will make you
feel you are always pedalling with tailwind. You can adjust the
3-stage drive assistance by means of the control buttons convenient-
ly located on the handlebar, and thus have it always adapted to your
needs, while the integrated tour management system shows the
right directions on the display. Several tours are available for down-
load on www.daum-electronic.de and can easily be loaded on the
dashboard by means of SD card. The other way around, own routes
can be uploaded to the server. A 36V rechargeable battery powers
the motor, enabling to travel up to 80 kms with one charge. The bat-
tery is fully recharged after only 3 hours charging time and ready for
the next relaxed ride.

Thanks to an intelligent technology.
We focussed our dashboards on one central function: To make your biking as con-
venient as possible. The intelligent technology design made by daum broadens
the horizon of the pedelec and that of its users alike. All important data are clear-
ly shown on the high performance graphic display, so that you are always in con-
trol of the speed, distance, pulse rate and current trip data. Simply and intuitively
turn the control button to change the settings and the displayed data. As soon as
your pedalling force drops too much within the self defined limit values, the sen-
sor gives the impulse to start motor assistance and thus provides for a steadily com-
fortable biking. In the Premium version the dashboard will even become your per-
fectly equipped tour guide. GPS data acquisition will continuously determine your
position. These data let you save the travelled routes and reuse them for later trips.
A reserved area is set up on www.daum-electronic.de where you can download
predefined routes as well as upload your own ones.

Power
The 250W electric motor is wear-free
(brushless) and drives the rear wheel
directly through the pedals‘ axleshaft. A
two speed transmission, located in the
waterproof aluminium housing, is shifted
as needed to compensate for insufficient
pedalling forces, almost noiselessly.
Intelligence
A sensor system permanently measures
the torsion of the pedal shaft, determi-
ning the force applied by the cyclist. The
electronic system reacts instantaneously,
ensuring a continuously variable motor
control. The gear recommendation incre-
ases the pedelec‘s range considerably by
optimising the energy consumption and
thus contributing decisively to econo-
mic cycling.
Safety
The motor is equiped with several safe-
ty mechanisms. The 3D position sen-
sors detect both horizontal and verti-
cal tilts and react immediately by swit-
ching off the motor or by giving an
impulse for stronger pedalling assistance.
Furthermore, the electronic system will
switch off the motor as soon as a brake
lever is pulled. This guarantees a jerk-free
stop and smooth start, e.g. at traffic lights.
The motor was developed and is manu-
factured by daum electronic in compli-
ance with the specifications of the DIN EN
15194 standard.
Endurance
The 36V battery is equipped with lithium-
ion technology, the latest battery tech-
nology for electric bikes. This reduces
the weight of the power packs while ex-
tending the travel range. The approx. 3.6
kgs battery pack allows a travel range of
up to 80 kms, depending on the selected
assistance mode, the terrain profile
and your weight. The charging time for
discharged batteries is under 3 hrs and
thus pretty fast.
The heart of the pedelecs beats in the
motor – whenever it‘s needed
The drive unit developed by daum combines both top class technical know how and
top quality workmanship„made in Germany“. Mounted on a central position of the bot-
tom bracket, it provides with its precise mechanism and intelligent elecronics a power-
ful assistance and relaxed riding experience.
The wear-free electric motor is controlled by a power measuring system sensing the tor-
sion of the pedals shaft and permanently communicating with the electronic system.
Driven by a high performance lithium-ion rechargeable battery tested for safety, it gua-
rantees a relaxed riding pleasure for up to 80 kms.The sensors detect both horizontal
and vertical tilts of the bike and react immediately either by switching off the motor or
by giving the impulse for a stronger pedalling assistance.

The digitally encoded heart rate transmission system
sends the heart rate data reliably with 868 MHz to the
