e Demeter HBP-1-800D Bass Pre/Power Amp:
ank you for purchasing the HBP-1-800D Bass Pre/Power Amp. is unit oers the same functionality of the
classic HBP-1 with the added benet of an 800 Watt Class D Power Amplier. All of the sound and controls of the
classic have been retained and some new features have been added.
Safety Precautions:
1. Do not use the unit in excessively moist environments.
2. Although not required, it is recommended to leave 1 rack space above the unit to allow for proper ventilation
and to elongate the life of the tubes.
3. is unit is equipped with a grounding plug as a safety feature. Please do not remove the ground on the unit. If
you are experiencing noise in the signal, try lifting the ground on the signal source.

Front Panel Operation
Rear Panel Operation
• Inputs-Passive/Active: e active input uses a 6dB pad to prevent clipping on the preamp.
• Volume Knob : Controls the drive of the preamplier (also use to control your output level)
• Treble Knob : Adjusts the gain on a treble shelving eq.
• Middle Knob: Adjusts the gain on a mid-range shelving eq.
• Bass Knob: Adjusts the gain on a mid-range shelving eq.
• Presence Knob: Adjusts the gain on an upper treble shelving eq.
• EQ In/Out : Enables the parametric equalizer.
• Low Frequency Gain: Changes the gain on the low frequency equalization band.
• Low Frequency Q: Changes the bandwidth of the low frequency equalization band.
• Mid Frequency Gain: Changes the gain on the midrange frequency equalization band.
• Mid Frequency Q: Changes the bandwidth of the midrange frequency equalization band.
• Eects Loop In/Out: Enables the eects loop (Output/Input located on rear of unit)
• Eects Send: Adjusts the output level from the unit to the eects unit.
• Eects Return: Adjusts the return level from the eects unit.
• Mute In/Out: Mutes the output signal from the unit. (Both pre & power amp)
• Ground/Lift Switch : Lifts the ground on the output signal. Try lifting the ground if you experience noise.
• Balanced XLR Output : Outputs a selectable line/mic level balanced output.
• Line/Mic Level : Switches the output between line and mic level on the XLR Output.
• Balanced Line Output : Outputs an balanced +4dB signal from the preamplier.
• Unbalanced Line Output : Outputs an unbalanced +4dB signal from the preamplier.
• Eects Loop Send/Return : Outputs a line level signal for use in eects units. Return accepts line level.
• Tuner Output : Unbalanced 0dB output for a bass tuner.
• 1/4” Speaker Output : Unbalanced speaker out (4 ohm minimum).
• Speakon Speaker Output : Unbalanced speaker out (4 ohm minimum).
• Voltage Selector : Switches between 120VAC/220VAC for international operation. INTERNAL JUMPER
• MUST ALSO BE SWITCHED! See next page for instructions on switching jumper.

Voltage Selection:
• Unplug the unit! Open the unit and locate the jumper switch, on the power amp section to the rear of the
unit. Change the jumper over as illustrated in the photo above. Make sure the switch on the rear of the
unit also has the correct voltage selected.
Troubleshooting:
• No Sound : Check cables & connections. Check to ensure there is no short on the speaker cable. If light is o,
check the fuse on the power amp (Unplug before doing so). If still no sound, check to see if the preamp outputs
operate. If everything is dead, try replacing the 12AX7 tube.
• Overheating/No Sound : If unit is shutting o and is extremely hot. Try opening the unit and cleaning with
compressed air. e overheated power amp will reset within a minute.
• Scratchy/Microphonic Sound: Try replacing the 12AX7 tube.
