HDMI ADAPTER KIT TO SOLVE
4K/120Hz & 8K INCOMPATIBILITY
ISSUE
The SPK618 HDMI adapter solution is designed to remedy a compatibility issue
between select Denon A/V receivers that support 4K/120Hz and 8K video
resolutions (specific models listed below) and gaming consoles that support
4K/120Hz and 8K video resolution output. If you experience a black screen and no
audio when trying to pass through 4K/120Hz or 8K signals from gaming devices
connected to the 8K input of the Denon A/V receiver, this adapter will help you to
get a proper gaming experience. You may register below before the 31st of July to

Quick check —Does your product benefit from the HDMI adapter?
Only Denon models listed below with serial numbers below xxxxxxx70000 are
impacted by the HDMI incompatibility issue and require the HDMI adapter to output
4K/120Hz and 8K/60Hz video signals. The below listed models with serial numbers
xxxxxxx70000 and greater do not need or benefit from the adapter. If you have one
of the affected models and serial numbers, please complete the form below to order
the HDMI adapter at no cost.
Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to the SPK618 Adapter Kit (“Adapter”). If you are the
original purchaser of an affected Denon or Marantz AVR unit (also referred to as “Unit”)
that was purchased from an authorized Denon or Marantz retailer, you may request an
Adapter by providing the serial number to your Denon or Marantz AVR unit and
completing the submission form. You are responsible for the accuracy of data that you
submit. Only one Adapter can be requested per eligible Unit (while stocks last). Only
affected Units are eligible for an Adapter. An Adapter provided to you by Sound United
(“Company”) is intended for use with the affected Denon or Marantz Units only. The
Adapter shall only be utilized as shown in the associated instruction manual, and for no
other purpose. The Adapter shall be connected as shown in the diagram contained in the
instruction manual, and all reasonable precautions should be taken. The Adapter, and any
associated accessories, are not available for sale, either individually or as a unit. The
Adapter does not contain a separate warranty, and is provided as-is. The Adapter is not
warranted for use with other components or equipment, and shall only be used in
accordance with the instructions provided. USE OF THE ADAPTER CONTRARY TO ITS
INTENDED PURPOSE MAY RESULT IN HARM OR INJURY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT
PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, COMPANY AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR
DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR
ANY LOSS ARISING OUT OF OR ASSOCIATED WITH THE ADAPTER, OR IMPROPER USE

be deemed to have defaulted or breached for delays or events beyond its control,
including but not limited to, natural disasters, government orders, pandemic or epidemic,
embargoes or blockades, war, threats, hostile actions, national emergencies, strikes,
shortage of power or transportation facilities, or related event. Company is not responsible
for any costs related to the Adapter, including installation or otherwise. Company has the
right, in its own discretion, to repair or replace the Adapter. The Adapter shall not be
returned to the Company. Company is not responsible for inaccuracies in data submitted
by you, or for incorrect deliveries resulting from incomplete or inaccurate data submission.
Except as otherwise provided by your AVR Unit’s warranty or required by law, Company is
not responsible for replacement of or refunds for AVR units, or for damage caused by your
moving the Unit or improper installation of the Adapter, and Company expressly disclaims
all liability in connection therewith. Your use of the Adapter constitutes your acceptance of

I'm having issues with my 8K/HDMI 2.1 Denon receiver when passing 8K/60 and 4K/120 signals
from certain source devices. What should I do to correct this issue?
Why does my TV show a black screen and no audio when trying to pass through 4K/120 or 8K
signals from gaming devices connected to the 8K input of my Denon A/V receiver?
We're providing an easy to setup SPK618 HDMI adapter at no cost during the warranty period as a
permanent solution for this issue to customers who are experiencing this type of issue with their
Denon A/V receivers supporting 4K/120 and 8K/60 video resolutions (See list of models affected
below).
The SPK618 HDMI adapter is designed to remedy the compatibility issue between Denon A/V
receivers supporting 4K/120 and 8K/60 video resolutions and gaming consoles that support
4K/120 and 8K/60 video resolution output.
Please note: This solution works only with the models listed below that are having problems working
with some gaming consoles at 4k/120. Consumers with non 8K Denon AVR models should NOT order
the SPK618.
You will NOT need this adapter unless you plan on running the latest gaming consoles at 4K/120 or
8K video resolutions through your AV receiver.

To receive the SPK618 adapter, go to www.denon.com/hdmiadapter and fill out the form with the
required information (*).
In the box, you will find the adapter, the power supply and an additional HDMI cable, which you’ll
need to connect the adapter to your system.
Once received, you'd need to connect this adapter between your 8K/60 or 4K/120 compatible game
console and your AV receiver using certified ultra high-speed HDMI cables (One cable is provided
with the adapter).
