DENVER SC-17
Installation
This chapter provides instructions to install the video baby monitor.
ALERT
At the first use, please recharge the battery inside the parent unit by using
the power adapter.
The baby unit has a lens cover. Please remove this lid before you start to use
the video baby monitor.
Before placing the camera in a definitive way baby unit) it is advisable to check the
proper functioning of equipment and proper radio communication between parent unit
and baby unit.
1. Connect the 5VDC – 1.000 mA power adapter
to parent unit. The power socket DC5V
) is in the left side on parent unit.

NOTE
The parent unit has a rechargeable
battery, so when it is charged enough,
you can use the device without the power
adapter. For more details please refer to
the parent unit chapter.
3. Press the power button , the green power
LED available in the left side will light ON.
The display will show as picture below:

4. Connect the 5VDC – 1.000 mA power adapter
to Baby Unit wireless camera). The power
socket DC5V ) is in the back side.

NOTE
The wireless camera can use 3 x AAA
batteries not included). For more
details please refer to Baby Unit chapter

5. Press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for
5-6 seconds until the LED will flashing in red
colour. This means that the pairing phase is
started.
Baby Unit – Power ON
6. With a thin object, such as a paper clip, press
the RESET button on the back side of the
parent unit, the display should show the
images and you can hear the sound picked
up by the microphone inside the wireless
camera.
Now you can turn off the camera and place it in the
final place. For next use is no longer necessary to
repeat the pairing phase.
Parent Unit - Pairing
NOTE
The pairing phase must be completed within 30 seconds. If you are unable
to complete its on time, wait until the red LED on the camera stays light
ON, then turn off the camera and try again. Once successfully completed
there is no need to repeat the pairing phase.

LCD Panel
Parent Unit – Talk and Listen f nction
This appliance has a dual connection between parent unit and baby unit 2 ways). This
means that you can speak with your baby by talking in the microphone inside the parent
unit and your voice will be heard by the baby through the speaker inside the camera, so
you can calm him without moving.
To talk with your baby please follow these steps:
1. Please check if the wireless camera is active then power ON the parent unit.
2. Press and hold the TALK button then start to speak near the parent unit.
3. Release the TALK button to listen your baby.
Parent Unit – Vol me
To set the volume in the parent unit, please follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press or buttons and select your desired volume level. It is possible to set
a volume level from 0 to 9. The selected value will be stored in the parent unit.
NOTE
If you select “0” zero) the audio in the parent unit will be disabled.
If the parent unit is near the baby unit you could hear a noise as
“whistle”. To fix this inconvenience please place the wireless camera far
from parent unit or decrease the volume.

Parent Unit – Radio signal strength
The LCD panel shows the radio signal strength icon.
Good signal. This is the optimal condition to use the appliance.
Low signal. There is communication between parent unit and baby unit, but
you risk to loose the signal. It is recommended to change the position of
baby unit or decrease the distance between parent unit and wireless
camera.
No signal. There is not any communication between parent and baby unit.
Parent Unit – Battery
The parent unit has inside a rechargeable battery. At the first use it is recommended to
fully charge the battery by connecting the power adapter to parent unit and fit it in a
compatible power outlet.
Full charge. The battery life is approximately 5 hours.
Low charge. The battery is very low and therefore will need to connect
the power adapter soon.
Completely discharged battery. Charge the battery by connecting the
parent unit to the power adapter.
Parent Unit – Main men
To enter in the main menu, power ON the parent unit and press the OK button.
Listed below the options available:
1. ZOOM IN/OUT
2. BABY UNIT VOLUME
3. EFFECT SET
4. SETUP
5. TV OUT
Press or buttons to select an option and press OK button to confirm the selection.
Main Men – Zoom IN/OUT
The parent unit has available a 2X Digital Zoom. To use this option follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or buttons to select ZOOM IN option then press OK button. The
picture on the LCD panel will be zoomed and the option in the main menu will
change to “ZOOM OUT” in order to restore the original view.
4. Press to exit from main menu.
To restore the original view:
1. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
2. Press or buttons to select ZOOM OUT option then press OK button. The
picture on the LCD panel will be restored at the original size.
3. Press to exit from main menu.

NOTE
If you enable the ZOOM IN option and turn OFF the parent unit, when
you will power ON the parent unit again the original view will be
restored.
Main Men – Baby Unit Vol me
This option allows you to set the volume level of the baby unit camera). To set the
volume level of the baby unit camera) follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or buttons to select BABY UNIT VOLUME option then press OK
button.
4. Press or buttons to select the level of volume from 0 to 9) then press OK
button to confirm the selection.
5. Press button to exit from main menu.
NOTE
We suggest to perform some test in order to set the correct volume level
in the baby unit depending on the camera distance from the child.
Main Men – Effect Set
This option allows you to modify parameters and viewing the images on the parent unit
LCD panel. The parameters available are:
1. VERTICAL: This parameter allows you to flip the image vertically. Possible values
are ON image flipped) or OFF original image).
2. HORIZONTAL: This parameter allows you to flip the image horizontally. Possible
values are ON image flipped) or OFF original image).
3. CONTRAST: This parameter allows you to adjust the contrast level 0 - 8).
4. SATURATION: This parameter allows you to adjust the color saturation level 0 -
6).
Effect Set – VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL
If necessary, for example if the camera has been installed on the ceiling and then the
images taken are flipped, you can flip the image of the parent unit LCD panel. To do this
follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or to select EFFECT SET option then press OK button.
4. Press or to select VERTICAL parameter if you want to flip the image
vertically or select HORIZONTAL if you want to flip the image Horizontally then
press button to change the value on ON and press OK button to confirm the
selection.
To restore the original view follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or to select EFFECT SET option then press OK button.
4. Press or to select VERTICAL parameter or HORIZONTAL parameter then
press button to change the value on OFF and press OK button to confirm the
selection.

NOTE
The VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL parameters stay stored in the parent
unit then when you turn OFF the appliance and power ON it again, the
parent unit maintains the same settings.
Effect Set – CONTRAST
To set the LCD panel contrast level follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or buttons to select EFFECT SET option then press OK button.
4. Press or buttons to select CONTRAST parameter then press or
buttons to set the desired level from 0 to 8).
5. Press OK button to confirm the selection then press button to exit from main
menu.
Effect Set – SATURATION
To set the LCD panel saturation level follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or buttons to select EFFECT SET option then press OK button.
4. Press or buttons to select SATURATION parameter then press or to set
the desired level from 0 to 6).
5. Press OK button to confirm the selection then press button to exit from main
menu.
NOTE
SATURATION= 0 means grayscale image.
SATURATION= 6 means strong color image.
Main Men – SETUP
Here below you will find setup parameters list:
1. VOX ON/OFF: Allows you to enable ON) or disable OFF) VOX function.
2. VOX SENSE: Allows you to select high sensitivity HI) or low sensitivity LOW)
concerning VOX function.
3. TV MODE: Allows you to set the TV mode PAL or NTSC.
4. LCD BRIGHT: Allows you to set the LCD panel brightness level 0 – 4).
Set p – Vox f nction
The VOX feature allows you to disable the display of the parent unit and activate it when
the baby unit camera) captures a noise, such as baby's crying. You can set the
sensitivity level: high sensitivity and low sensitivity.
To enable the VOX function follow these steps:
1. Power ON parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or buttons to select SETUP option then press OK button.
4. Press or buttons to select VOX ON/OFF parameter then press button to
enable the function ON) or disable the function OFF).
5. Press OK button to confirm the selection then press button to exit from main
menu.
To set the VOX sensitivity level follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.

3. Press or buttons to select SETUP option then press OK button.
4. Press or buttons to select VOX SENSE parameters then press button to
select the desired sensitivity level HI or LOW).
5. Press OK button to confirm the selection then press button to exit from main
menu.
ALERT
If you set high sensitivity HI) and the LCD panel in the parent unit never
switch OFF, it means that in the room there are noises. Before to set the
final value we suggest to perform some test in order to select the correct
value. Usually the LOW level is correct to switch ON the LCD panel in the
parent unit when there are loud noise as crying baby or when he wakes up.
Set p - TV Mode
This parameter allows you to set the TV mode if you connect the parent unit to an
external TV system by using the A/V OUT connector.
To set the TV mode follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or buttons to select SETUP option then press OK button.
4. Press or buttons to select TV MODE parameter then press button to set
PAL or NTSC.
5. Press OK button to confirm the selection then press button to exit from main
menu.
NOTE
In most european countries the main TV mode is PAL. In France is
supported too SECAM.
In most american countries the main TV mode is NTSC.
Set p – LCD Bright
This parameter allows you to set the LCD panel brightness level in the parent unit.
To set the LCD bright follow these steps:
1. Power ON the parent unit.
2. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
3. Press or buttons to select SETUP option then press OK button.
4. Press or buttons to select LCD BRIGHT parameter then press or to set
the level desired 0 – 4).
5. Press OK button to confirm the selection then press button to exit from main
menu.
Main Men – TV OUT
The parent unit has an AV OUT connector to connect the appliance to an audio video
device as TV or VCR. In the packaging there is available the audio/video cable. To
connect the parent unit to an external TV system follow these steps:

1. Connect the cable to AV OUT connector available in the right side of parent unit.
2. Connect the 3 RCA connectors yellow, red and white) to audio/video INPUT in
the TV or VCR:
1. The yellow connector is the VIDEO signal.
2. The red and white connectors are the stereo audio signal.
3. Power ON the parent unit.
4. Press OK to enter in the main menu.
5. Press or buttons to select TV OUT then press OK button. The LCD panel in
the parent unit will turn OFF and the images will be displayed on TV screen.
To turn ON the LCD panel in the parent unit follow these steps:
1. Press OK button to enter in the main menu.
2. Press or buttons to select LCD OUTPUT option then press OK button. The
LCD panel in the parent unit will turn ON and you can disconnect the
audio/video cable.
NOTE
To restore the LCD Panel view you can also turn OFF the parent unit and
power ON it again.
Baby Unit – description
This chapter provides a complete description of the Baby Unit functions.

Baby Unit - Batteries
The Baby Unit supports two power systems:
1. 5VDC – 1.000 mA power adapter available in the packaging.

2. 3 x AAA standard batteries not included in the packaging.
To power the camera with batteries please follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power adapter from Baby Unit and
from the power socket.
2. Open the battery door available in the Baby Unit
bottom side see the picture).
3. Insert 3 x AAA standard batteries by checking that
“+” and “-” marks match the symbols in the batteries
compartment.
4. Close the battery door.

Baby Unit - Pairing
The Baby Unit can communicate with the Parent Unit by using a wireless connection
based on 2,4 GHz frequency. To skip interferences or detection from other wireless
devices it is necessary to pair the units. This operation is necessary only one time at the
first use or if you want to change or add other wireless cameras.
To pair the Baby and the Parent Unit please follow these steps:
NOTE
The pairing phase must be completed in 30 seconds. Because it is a
short time, we suggest to perform the pairing phase by taking Parent
and Baby units near you. When you finish the pairing phase you can
install the Baby Unit in the final location.
1. Connect the 5VDC – 1.000 mA power adapter to Parent Unit and fit it in a
compatible power outlet.
2. Power ON the Parent Unit.
3. Press or buttons to select the channel CH:1, CH:2, CH:3 or CH:4).
4. Connect the 5VDC – 1.000 mA power adapter to Baby Unit and fit it in a
compatible power outlet.
5. Press and hold pressed the power ON/OFF button for 5 seconds, the power LED
will flash. The pairing phase is started and you have around 30 seconds to finish
it.
6. Whit a thin object press the RESET button available in the back side of Parent
Unit. It will detect the Baby Unit and the LCD panel will show the images
captured from the camera.
Pan & Tilt f nction
The camera supports two orientations: horizontal Pan) and vertical Tilt).

Tro bleshooting
This chapter provides some suggestions in order to fix some problem during the
installation or the use of the video baby monitor:
Problem description Solution
The Parent Unit does not Power ON. Check if the battery is full charge or not.

Check if the power adapter is connected to
Parent Unit correctly.
Check if the power adapter is fitted in a
compatible power socket correctly.
If the power LED is light ON check if the
VOX function is enabled see VOX function
chapter) or TV OUT function is enabled
see TV OUT chapter).
The Baby Unit does not Power ON. Check if the power adapter is connected to
camera correctly
Check if the power adapter is fitted in a
compatible power socket correctly.
Check the camera without the power
adapter by using 3 x AAA batteries.
No video or audio signal. Try to change the number of channel.
Repeat the pairing phase. For more
information, please refer to Installation and
Pairing chapter.
It is not possible to complete the pairing. The pairing phase takes about 30 seconds.
If you do not complete all steps in this time
you need to repeat the phase. We suggest
to perform the pairing phase by taking
Parent and Baby units near you. When you
finish the pairing phase you can install the
wireless camera in the final location. For
more details please refer to Pairing chapter.
When use Talk & Listen function the
volume is low.
Adjust the volume by pressing or
buttons. For more details please refer to
Volume chapter.
Increase the Baby Unit Volume. For more
details please refer to Main Menu – Baby
Unit Volume chapter.
The quality of audio and/or video is not
acceptable.
Please check the strength of the radio
signal and try to change the antenna
orientation by moving the Baby Unit.
Perfect signal
Low signal
No signal
Please do not place camera near
electromagnetic interferences source as
HiFi speaker, DECT/Cordless Phone and Hi-
Voltage devices.
When camera works in night vision the IR
lights do not light ON.
It is normal because InfraRed light is not
visible at human eyes.
On the monitor there are some lines and
the image is not clear.
The camera is powered by batteries and
probably the charge level is low. Please
replace the batteries or remove them and
connect the power adapter.
