Installations
Safety Warning
1. The gas geyser must be installed in a
well-ventilated place. While Operating
the gas geyser consumes a lot of
oxygen, so air inlet vents are required to
match specication in table above. Air
circulation will cause lack of oxygen and
carbon monoxide poisoning which can
be fatal.
2. Don’t expose the gas geyser to strong
wind or rain, - if it is installed outside,
please use a cover.
3. The misuse of LPG gas equipment can
lead to serious injuries and can be fatal.
Use a registered installer to t your gas
geyser
4. Don’t use old or faulty LPG gas
equipment.

Installation instructions
Mounting the Gas Geyser body
Drill 4 x 8mm holes into the wall matching
the holes on the back of the gas geyser.
Use 6mm expansion bolts.
Hang the gas geyser, and then attach it
with the expansion bolt to the hole of
lower bracket.
Cold Water Supply Pipe
The cold water inlet joint is a standard half
inch (15mm) male plumbing tting.
The water inlet pipe should be connected
using a rigid water pipe.
The inner diameter of the inlet pipe
(including the valve) shouldn’t be less than
8mm.
Check that the inlet sieve is secure before
installing the cold water pipe. This sieve
ensures that any particles in the new pipe
do not enter the gas geyser.
Hot Water Supply Pipe
The hot water outlet joint is a standard half
inch (15mm) male plumbing tting
The hot water outlet pipe should be
connected using a rigid water pipe.
The inner diameter of the hot water outlet
pipe (including the valve) shouldn’t be less
than 8mm.
After installation
Open the cold water valve to the
maximum to test the water ow and check
whether there are any leaks.
Gas Supply Pipe
The gas inlet joint is a standard half inch
(15mm) male plumbing ttings..
The gas line should be connected using
an approved method of piping and tting
according SANS 10087-1
After the gas inlet joint is connected, open
the gas supply valve, and check whether
there is a gas leak at the joint by using
soapy water or a gas manometer.
The gas geyser should be used with a low
pressure regulator of 2,8 KPA.

Page 8 of 12 Dewhot | Gas geyser manual
1. Open the battery box and insert two ‘D’
Cell sized batteries
2. Open both the cold and hot water
valve. Close the water Inlet valve after
you make sure the cold water is owing
out through the water outlet and the
ignition pins re up.
3. Open the gas supply
4. Open the water inlet valve and
the geyser will ignite immediately.
Sometimes because there is air in the
gas pipe, it may not ignite the rst time,
so, try two or three times.
5. By closing the water inlet or outlet
valve the gas heater will stop working.
If needed again, just re-open the water
inlet valve or water outlet valve. Please
note that the temperature of hot water
owing out is higher so wait for the
temperature to stabilise.
6. This gas geyser may only be used for
short delivery periods and may not be
used for the purpose of supplying hot
water to a bath or washing machine.
7. This gas geyser may only be installed
in a room if the room meets the
appropriate ventilation requirements
(refer to SANS 10087-1)
8. This gas geyser shall not be
connected to a ue.

Operating warnings
• Don’t use the gas geyser in a sealed
room or room with no air circulation.
• During operation, if you nd there
is a gas leak, turn o the gas valve
immediately. If the room is full of gas,
you must turn o the power switch.
To avoid an explosion do not use
the gas geyser and call your installer
immediately to determine the fault.
• When leaving the premises for
extended periods, turn o your gas
supply.
• The body of the gas geyser can get very
hot, so please don’t touch any part of
the gas geyser, except for the switches
• Do not put any foreign objects in the
exhaust port, air inlet or on top of
the gas geyser to avoid incomplete
combustion which results in posioning.
• Should you notice a yellow ame which
indicates abnormal combustion you
should close the gas valve right away
and then contact the installer.
• Before outdoor temperatures reach
below zero degrees make sure the
remaining water is emptied out of the
gas geyser to avoid it freezing.

Troubleshooting
Symptom Solution
The water ow of the geyser
has decreased
Check for debris in the inlet sieve and in the
outlet ttings (shower rose / kitchen spout
sieve)
The geyser is dead or the ignitors
are ring weakly / slowly Replace the batteries
Water leaking from the geyser Call a Dewhot Technician
The gas geyser wont switch on
Check the contact terminals in the battery
box for rust. Tip - Drill two 3-4 mm drain
holes in the battery box lid to stop any
moisture build up in the future.
The geyser has new batteries
and the water is owing through
the geyser but does not ignite
properly
Disconnect the inlet (cold) & outlet (Hot)
water connection, check for debris in the
sieve and blow through the geyser to see if
it will ignite. If not, replace the water ow
sensor.
The unit ignites
but with a loud bang
Check the ignitors are ring correctly from
the end of the pins, they will normally be
corroded / carboned up and will need
cleaning or replacing.
Check that the ignitor wires and ame out
sensor are not brittle or shorting out. make
sure they are cleaned o.

Dewhot | Gas geyser manual
Dewhot | Gas geyser manual
Symptom Solution
The geyser ignites but dies
after 8-10 seconds
1. Replace the ame out sensor
2. The temperature sensors, or
temperature sensor wires are broken and
need replacing.
3. If the above has been done then the
solenoids can be faulty , replace one at
a time
The unit res over again for its
10 second cycle however the
geyser does not ignite and you
cannot hear the “CLACK” of the
solenoids.
Disconnect the gas at the geyser and run
the water through it, if you then hear
the solenoid ring and you have already
changed the batteries then change the
regulator.

1. Check the gas supply pipe regularly
to ensure that there are no cracks
or leaks.
2. Regularly clean the surface of the
gas geyser body to remove dirt or
dust using a neutral detergent.
3. Do not use a a strong detergent, like
benzene or gasoline to clean the
plastic parts and printed surfaces of
the gas geyser.
4. Regularly remove and wash the
stainless steel sieve in the cold
water inlet
