1.1 Basic information
The RM4H is designed as a built-in module for automated teller machines
and is used in automated teller machine with Frontload and Rearload
systems. The RM4H module for the Frontload device type is displayed in
the preceding.
The RM4H permits banknotes to be deposited and withdrawn. This model
consists of a head unit and a safe unit.
It is possible to deposit one or more banknotes. When there are several
banknotes they are input as a bundle. Today a bundle is allowed to be
made up of max. 300 banknotes, in which case individual banknotes in a
bundle do not have to be sorted.
To prevent malfunctioning, all RM4H users must pay attention to the
quality of banknotes which are to be inserted. The RM4H allows slightly
damaged banknotes to be processed. However, if the notes exceed the
defined limits, the device will not be able to process the notes correctly.
Verification of the banknotes takes place in the banknote validator. Using
loadable, country-specific currency data as a reference, the authenticity of
the banknotes is checked here:
– Banknotes that are recognized as authentic are initially stored in the
fixed position reel storage (escrow) after being deposited. This enables
the banknotes to be returned if the deposit procedure is canceled. Af-
ter the customer has confirmed the transaction the banknotes are once
more verified in the banknote validator and transported to the CINEO
cassettes in the safe unit for storage.
– Unsuitable banknotes that are deposited are removed from the pro-
cessing procedure and returned to the customer.
– Deposited banknotes which are recognized as counterfeit are placed in
the head module in a separate counterfeit cassette.

NOTICE
Counterfeit money can also be handled differently, depending on the reg-
ulations of the country in question.
– Banknotes from erroneous or trial dispensing processes, banknotes
suspected to be counterfeit as well as banknotes forgotten or not re-
moved by the customer in a withdrawal are placed in the reject/retract
cassette or in the All In Box.
The input/output tray is protected by a shutter.

1.5 CINEO banknote storage
1.5.1 Overview
CINEO cassettes can be used across systems within the CINEO product
family. The different functions which are useful for the CINEO cassettes
within the various individual systems are listed in the following.
CINEO cassettes are used for storing banknotes, for cash deposits and cash
withdrawals. Only the withdrawal function of the CINEO cassettes is used
within the CMD-V5.
Different banknote storages exist which are in turn available in different
versions:
– Standard cassette
– All In Box
– Reel storage module
The standard cassette is available in the configurations Basic, Midrange or
HighEnd.
The CINEO Basic cassette includes the following functions:
– Recycling function
– Withdrawal function
– Deposit function
– With / Without lock
– Lead-sealable
– Optional fill level measurement
The CINEO Midrange cassette includes the following functions:
– All functions of the CINEO Basic cassette
– Shutter and cover monitoring

– Tamper indicator
– Optional Cash Management
The CINEO High End cassette includes the following functions:
– All functions of the CINEO Midrange cassette
– Banknote toning technique
Starting with the Midrange cassette, two plug-ins without pin are
permitted; a pin must be present starting with the 3rd plug-in.
If a cassette is inserted into the same system three times without the
respective pin and then inserted a fourth time with the respective pin, it is
designated "tampered with" (when CCMS is activated).
NOTICE
Midrange cassettes should not be inserted into unpowered systems, as
the shutter monitoring function evaluates this process as tampering
(when CCMS is activated).
