Guida Rapida d'Installazione

La ringraziamo per la fiducia accordataci nell’acquistare un
prodotto Digicom.
DESCRIZIONE
PCI Wave 54 supporta il nuovo standard IEEE
802.11g, che supporta velocità fino a 54Mbit/s,
per garantirvi le massime prestazioni disponibili
in un collegamento Wireless, e lo standard IEEE
802.11b per garantirvi la massima compatibilità anche con le vecchie reti a 11Mbit/s.
PCI Wave 54 supporta sia applicazioni definite “Ad-Hoc” (Peer-to-Peer Networking senza
Access Point), che “Infrastructure” (Networking con Access Point).
PCI Wave 54 è compatibile con Windows Xp, 2000, Me, 98SE.
INSTALLAZIONE SOFTWARE
Per utilizzare correttamente la scheda è necessario installare i driver del dispositivo ed
un’utility per la configurazione.
Attenzione : Non inserire la scheda nel PC prima dell’installazione dell’utility.
1. Inserisci il Cd-Rom nel lettore CD del tuo computer, seleziona: Start / Esegui / Sfoglia
e cerca il file Setup.exe nella cartella del Cd-Rom relativa alla scheda, selezionalo
e conferma con il pulsante OK.
2. Dopo aver avviato l’installazione dell’Utility, segui le indicazioni presenti sulle finestre
di installazione, uguali per tutti i Sistemi Operativi.
3. Termina l’installazione selezionando Finish.
4. Ora, spegni il computer per procedere all’installazione Hardware spiegata di seguito.
INSTALLAZIONE HARDWARE
1. Dopo aver spento il computer, e scollegato il cavo di alimentazione dalla presa a
muro, rimuovi il coperchio del computer ed individua uno slot PCI libero. Inserisci la
scheda PCI Wave 54, in uno slot PCI libero con una leggera pressione, e fissa la
scheda con una vite. Richiudi il computer e ricollega la presa elettrica, quindi riavvia
il Sistema Operativo.
2. All’avvio, Windows rileverà il nuovo dispositivo hardware. Seleziona la scelta Installa
il software automaticamente e premi Avanti.
3. Windows installerà automaticamente il dispositivo utilizzando i driver
precedentemente copiati durante l’installazione dell’utility.
4. Premi Continua nell’eventualmente finestra informativa Installazione hardware.
5. Seleziona il Paese in cui stai effettuando l’installazione e conferma la scelta effettuata.
6. Termina l’installazione premendo il pulsante Fine.
7. L’installazione è terminata, e la PCI Wave 54 effettuerà subito una ricerca dei dispositivi
Wireless ai quali connettersi.
CONNESSIONE AD UNA RETE WIRELESS CON ACCESS POINT
Da Start > Pannello di controllo > Connessioni di rete.
Cerca l’icona Connessione rete senza fili, selezionala con il tasto destro del mouse e
scegli la voce Proprietà.
Apri la cartella Reti senza fili e deseleziona l’opzione Usa Windows per configurare
le impostazioni della rete senza fili come in figura.
Da Start > Programmi > 802.11 Wireless LAN avviate l’utility di configurazione.
Seleziona la cartella Network per verificare i dispositivi Wireless rilevati. Seleziona
l’Access Point al quale intendi collegarti e premi Connect.
Per aumentare la sicurezza del collegamento, ti consigliamo di abilitare la crittografia
nella cartella Configuration.
Prima di accedere alla rete Wireless, è consigliabile impostare l’Indirizzo IP corretto
nelle proprietà della scheda di rete.
CONNESSIONE AD UNA RETE WIRELESS SENZAACCESS POINT
Per creare una rete Wireless Peer-to-Peer (modalità Ad-Hoc), utilizza comunque l’utility
di configurazione descritta precedentemente, ed imposta per ogni client gli stessi
parametri di SSID, Channel e Security.

Temperatura ambiente da 0 a +50 ° CUmidità relativa dal 5% al 90% senza condensa
Si dovrà evitare ogni cambiamento rapido di temperatura e umidità
Il sistema compresi i cavi, deve venire installato in un luogo privo o distante da:
 Polvere, umidità, calore elevato ed esposizione diretta alla luce del sole.
 Oggetti che irradiano calore. Questi potrebbero causare danni al contenitore o altri
problemi.
 Oggetti che producono un forte campo elettromagnetico (altoparlanti Hi-Fi, ecc.)
 Liquidi o sostanze chimiche corrosive.
PULIZIA DELL’APPARATO
Usare un panno soffice asciutto senza l’ausilio di solventi.
VIBRAZIONI O URTI
Attenzione a non causare vibrazioni o urti.

Dear Customer,
thank you for purchasing a Digicom product.
DESCRIPTION
PCI Wave 54 supports the new IEEE 802.11g
standard, with speed up to 54Mbps, for the best
performances in a Wireless connection. PCI
Wave 54 also complies with the IEEE 802.11b
standard to guarantee the compatibility with the
old 11Mbps networks.
PCI Wave 54 supports “Ad-Hoc” applications (Peer-to-Peer Networking without Access
Point), and “Infrastructure” applications (Networking with Access Point).
PCI Wave 54 operates with Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98SE.
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
In order to use the card correctly it is necessary to install the driver of the device and an
utility for the configuration.
Attention: Do not insert the card in the PC before you run the Software installation.
1. Before connecting your PCI Wave 54, run the utility installation. Insert the Cd-Rom
you found in the package, then go throught the following steps: Start > Run > Browse…
search for the Setup.exe file in the card folder, select it and click OK.
2. During the installation follow the on-screen instructions.
3. At the end click Finish.
4. Shut down your computer and go on with HARDWARE INSTALLATION.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
1. Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord, remove the computer’s cover.
Select an available PCI slot and push firmly, but gently, until PCI Wave 54 is well
seated. Put back the computer’s cover, connect the power cord and turn it on.
2. Windows will detect the new hardware. Select Install the software automatically
and click Next.
3. Windows will automatically install the device using the driver previously copied in the
utility installation.
4. Click Continue Anyway in the Hardware Installation window.
5. Select the right Country.
6. At the end click Finish.
7. The installation is over and PCI Wave 54 will search for the Wireless devices.
CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK THROUGH AN ACCESS POINT
Select Start > Control Panel > Network connections.
Right click on the Wireless network connection, icon and select Properties. Disable
the Use Windows to configure… checkbox in order to use the provided utility for the
card set up.
From Start > Programs > 802.11 Wireless LAN run utility configuration.
Select the Network folder and check the detected Wireless devices. Select the Access
Point you wish to connect and click Connect.
To increase the security, enable the Encryption in Configuration folder.
In the Network card Properties set the right IP address for your wireless network
connection.
CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK WITHOUT AN ACCESS POINT
In order to set up a Wireless Peer-to-Peer network (Ad-Hoc mode), use the above
described configuration utility, setting the same SSID, Channel and Security parameters
in each client configuration.

 Dust, humidity, heat from direct sun light.

CLEANING THE TERMINAL
Use a clean and soft cloth.Wet the cloth with water or natural detergent if it is necessary
to remove any stains. Never use chemical products such as petrol or solvents.
VIBRATIONS OR DROPPING
Caution against vibrations and dropping.
