Kimchi can be preserved longer and fresher with Dimchae’s
long-term storage mode
Every fall season, all housewives experience the big burdenof making kimchi
and also to find a way of storing their delicious kimchi fresh for a long time.
Dimchae
○
guarantees that kimchi is perfectly preserved and stored.
Dimchae’s first-ever storing technology prevents kimchi from ripening for up
to three months from the very moment kimchi is stored. After that, the ripening
process slowly begins after 3 months of preservation.
Ez clean function can easily remove frost buildup
With the Ez clean function, all frostbe conveniently removed from inside the
Dimchae in 30 minutes. Before starting Ez clean, please be aware that all the
kimchi containers are taken out of the Dimchae. If Ez clean function is activated
with kimchi containers left inside, kimchi may spoil and be inedible.
Odor-free of kimchi
Applying a low temperature deodorization filter with oxide catalysts, the odor
of kimchi is minimized.
New kimchi containers
Better designed and improved imchi containers provide enhanced air tightness
for more freshness to kimchi than previous containers.

● A damaged plug may cause an electric shock or a fire.
Do not modify or extend the power cable.
● This may cause electric shock or fire due
to the damaged cable.

Safety Precautions
Use one wall socket exclusively for dimchae .
● Inserting many plugs in the same wall socket may
cause generation of heat or a fire.
Do not use a damaged cord and a damaged or
loose wall socket.
● It may cause an electric leakage or a fire.
Using a clean dry towel, remove dust or any stains
on the plug, before plugging the appliance in.
● Dust on the plug may prevent the appliance from
being completely plugged in, and cause a fire.
Do not touch plug or wall socket with wet hands.
● It may cause an electric shock.
Immediately unplug the appliance,
if you detect smoke or fumes with a burning smell.
● It may cause the breakdown of the appliance,
an electric shock or a fire.

Do not install the appliance in a place that is damp,
can be splashed by water or is dusty.
● It may cause an electric shock or an electric leakage,
leading to a injury fatality.
Do not install the appliance in a place that gets direct
sunshine, is overheated or has other heating
equipment nearby.
● The cooling effect of the appliance is reduced,
which causes an increased consumption of electricity.
● The temperature of the room appropriate for the
appliance is 20~30℃.
Do not tilt the appliance more than 45º when moving it.
● Oil in the compressor may run down to the pipe,
breaking down the appliance.
● If the appliance was unavoidably tilted more than 45°,
let it stand for 30-40 minutes before plugging it in.
Stand the appliance on a strong and flat surface.
● An uneven surface may cause sound from the appliance.
● By using the height adjustment screw the appliance
can be levelled to an uneven surface.
Install the appliance at least 10cm away from any wall.
● Good air circulation in the room helps the appliance to
disperse the heat generated, and maintain its cooling effect.
● Leave a gap between the appliance and a refrigerator
or other furniture.

Do not switch on heating equipment near the appliance.
● The temperature rise from other equipment affects
the cooling effect of the appliance, consuming more
electricity.
● The heat from other equipment may deform the plastic
surface of the appliance.
Do not attempt to disassemble, repair or modify the
product.
● This may cause injury, electric shock or fire.
When moving or carrying dimchae
○

● Before carrying the appliance
1. Take out the contents. 2. Pull out the power plug.
3. Tape around the door to keep it
from opening.
4. Do not drag or pull the appliance.
Lift and move it.
● Be aware that water in the drainspout may fall to
the floor when moving or shifting the appliance.

Connect a circuit breaker to the appliance, or make sure
that the appliance is well grounded.
● Use a circuit breaker connected to a wall socket,
or a wall socket with a grounding terminal
● Alternatively purchase a grounding wire, connect with a
grounding terminal on the wall socket or a copper plate,
and bury it in the ground.
● Grounding to a gas pipe, a plastic water pipe or a
telephone cable is not permitted under any circumstances.
When using an extra power line, use one with
a ground wire.

● WARNING?
Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shocks. If it is necessary
to use an extension cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding
plug and a 3-slot receptacle that will accept the plug on the appliance.
North America: Use an extension cord for 115-120V, 15A or higher (for model BSA-A128S*).
Australia : Use an extension cord for 250V, 10A or higher (for model BSE-A128S*(AU).
Make sure the grounding of the consent box is complete if you use grounding adapter.

Safety Precautions
● CAUTION?
Watch your hands when opening/closing the lid. If the lid falls down, it may cause injury.
Do not use inflammable spray products near the
appliance.
● It may cause a fire.
● It may damage the plastic surface of the appliance.
Never keep drugs, cosmetics, lab samples or
inflammable substances (benzene, thinner, alcohol,
ether or LP gas) in the appliance.
● This may damage the appliance or cause a fire or an
explosion.
Do not install the appliance in a place that undergoes
sudden changes in temperature in winter.
● It may freeze kimchi.
Do not put hands or a metal bar under the appliance or
inside the protecting grill against heat. (the exhaust
pipe)
●The bottom of the appliance is made of steel plate, and may
cause electric shock or injury.
Store food in the appliance three to four hours
after the appliance is plugged in.
● The appliance requires a few hours to adjust the
inside temperature to keep food.
When opening and closing the door, use the handle
only. Make sure that your hands are not caught in the
door.
● This may injure your hand.

Use the kimchi container provided to keep
kimchi in dimchae

● Kimchi may be frozen if kept directly in dimchae

Make sure to fill only 70~80% of the kimchi container
with kimchi to prevent its juice from overflowing, as
kimchi ripens.
● As kimchi ripens, it increases its juice and may overflow.
Use containers provided separately for meat,
fish and vegetables.
● It prevents food from drying and is more hygienic.
Adjust the setting of the appliance according to the
kind of food you want to keep.
Do not keep foods required for different storage
temperature together.
Check the freshness of the foods in dimchae

its ‘refrigerating’ and ‘Chill’ are on.
● Food kept in dimchae

can be spoiled if they pass the
expiry date.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

properly. Press any button to stop the buzzing
sound and contact a service center nearby.

Do not spray water over the appliance.
Keep the control panel dry by using a dry cloth to clean.
Use sponge or a gentle cloth with lukewarm water and
or a detergent to clean the surface of the appliance.
Completely dry the surface using a soft cloth.
To defrost the appliance, first take out all the foods and
press the [Ez Clean] button, and leave the lid open.
Clean the inside with a dry cloth. (Refer to page 22)
● Do not use a hair dryer for hot air.

Tips for power saving

Do not open the lid unnecessarily.
● Cool air let out of dimchae

, and hot air outside going in
affect the temperature inside the appliance. In turn, the
compressor inside the appliance starts operating to lower
the temperature, consuming electricity.
● When installed in a place with a high temperature, the compressor use increases, consuming more
electricity.
● Electricity consumption varies depending on the ways of using the appliance and the modes selected.
●Follow the instructions below for power saving.
Cool down hot food before putting it in dimchae

● Hot food raises the inside temperature of the appliance,
causing increased electricity consumption to lower the
temperature.
Do not open the lid during power failure.
● Every time the lid is opened, outside hot air goes into
the appliance.
● Power failure for less than two hours may not affect food
in dimchae

Unplug the appliance if it is not to be used for a long
period of time.
● After unplugging the appliance, clean it, and leave the
lid open for one day to completely dry it.

❷ Select a place to install the appliance.
Follow the details in “Safety Precautions” and particularly focus on the floor, the
temperature and the surrounding area.
❸ Make sure to refer to ‘Safety Precautions’ with regard to power
equipment.
A grounded power socket is strongly recommended.
● A place that does not receive direct sunshine,
or heat from heating equipment.
● A place that does not get wet.
● A place that is not overheated and does not have
sudden changes in temperature.
● A place with a strong and flat floor.
● A place in which the appliance is installed with
10cm space from the wall.

How to use operation maneuvering section?

❶ lock/Release : Becomes 풀림 state when pressing on for a long time for at least three
seconds, and button can be maneuvered starting from this point.
❷ Kimchi : Used to keep different types of Kimchi fresh (Kimchi made from Asian
cabbage, Kimchi mostly based on water, raddish Kimch).
❸ Produce : Used to keep vegetables and fruits fresh (or rice, bean paste etc.).
❹ Chill : Used to keep meat or fish fresh after freezing it slightly.
❺ Ready-made Kimchi purchased : ready-made purchased kimchi - used for keeping Kimchi
purchased ready made.
long term Storage - Used to keep Kimchi for a long time
after delaying Kimchi fertilization.
❻ Auto Course Fermentation : Used to keep Kimchi after (Kimchi made from Asian cabbage,

❹ Buzzer is heard when Ez Clean is completed, and changes automatically to the
state prior to the Ez Clean operation.
● Ez Clean terminates automatically when the temperature at the inside becomes 10℃
or after 30 minutes.
● Wipe off the moisture found at the inside when buzzer is heard after Ez Clean is completed.

out the contents.
● Select [ Ez Clean ] only after taking out all the food.
Food may spoil otherwise.
What is ‘Ez Clean’?
●Function that removes frost.
● If you select [Ez Clean] without leaving the lid open, a buzzer will go off, and
[Ez Clean] will not operate.
● After Ez Clean is completed, a state may result whereby frost does not completely turn
into water or whereby frost may fall off from the wall. Do not remove with sharp metallic

Do not operate the button once the power comes back on after outage. Leave as is,
and operate with the function set automatically.
When set for the 발효과학 function, there is no need to maneuver since operation is carried out
by calculating time automatically.
Cool air preservation is enabled by maintaining temperature for at least two hours when
the door is not opened during outage.
Reusing the deodorizing filter

❶ Cover opens with the tick sound when the cover for the deodorization filter is pulled
towards the direction indicated by the arrow.
❷ Dry the deodorizing filter in the shade with good air circulation for twenty-four hours
and reuse it.
(As the filter can be semi-permanently used, you do not need to change it.)
Do not dry the deodorizing filter in a microwave oven.
● It may cause a fire.
● The deodorizing filter will melt and cannot be reused.

authorities in regard to the envionmentally safe disposal of this product.
