and the difference between the temperature of inside and outside, haven’t you felt

Ez Clean function for easy defrost of the refrigerator.

in a very short time (30 minutes) by raising the
temperature inside. No more hassle needed in defrosting your kimchi refrigerator.
Don't forget to empty container before starting Ez clean mode. If you don’t remove
kimchi out of the container while using Ez Clean, your kimchi might get too fermented.
So, be cautious.
Deodorizing filter prevents Kimchi smell from spreading.
With the use of “low-temperature oxidation catalyst applied deodorizing filter”, dimchae

minimizes the spreading of kimchi smell.
Cold air curtain keeps the original taste of kimchi.
The thick cooling layer between the door and the storeroom minimizes the outflow of
internal cold air so that helps to keep kimchi fresh longer.

● The appliance may not work or cause a fire if used
with power equipment with different standards.
Make sure that the cord is not bent or crushed by
a heavy object.
● It may cause an electrial leakage,
an electric shock, or a fire.
Make sure that the plug is not crushed or damaged.
● A damaged plug may cause an electric shock or a fire.
Do not modify or extend the power cable.
● This may cause electric shock or fire due
to the damaged cable.

Safety Precautions
Using a clean dry towel, remove dust or any stains
on the plug, before plugging the appliance in.
● Dust on the plug may prevent the appliance from being
completely plugged in, and cause a fire.
Do not install the appliance in a place that is damp,
can be splashed by water or is dusty.
● It may cause an electric shock or an electric leakage,
leading to a injury fatality.
Do not install the appliance in a place that
gets direct sunshine, is overheated or
has other heating equipment nearby.
● The cooling effect of the appliance is reduced,
which causes an increased consumption of electricity.
● The temperature of the room appropriate for the
appliance is 20~30

Do not tilt the appliance more than 45º when moving it.
● Oil in the compressor may run down to the pipe,
breaking down the appliance.
● If the appliance was unavoidably tilted more than 45°,
let it stand for 30-40 minutes before plugging it in.
Stand the appliance on a strong and flat surface.
● An uneven surface may cause sound from the appliance.
● By using the height adjustment screw the appliance
can be levelled to an uneven surface.
Install the appliance at least 4˝ away from any wall.
● Good air circulation in the room helps the appliance to
disperse the heat generated, and maintain its cooling effect.
● Leave a gap between the appliance and a refrigerator
or other furniture.

Connect a circuit breaker to the appliance,
or make sure that the appliance is well grounded.
● Use a circuit breaker connected to a wall socket,
or a wall socket with a grounding terminal
● Alternatively purchase a grounding wire, connect with a
grounding terminal on the wall socket or a copper plate,
and bury it in the ground.
● Grounding to a gas pipe, a plastic water pipe or a
telephone cable is not permitted under any
circumstances.
When using an extra power line,
use one with a ground wire.
● WARNING?
Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shocks. If it is necessary to use
an extension cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug and a 3-slot
receptacle that will accept the plug on the appliance.
North America: Use an extension cord for 115-120V, 15A or higher (for model DEPA-189D*).
Australia : Use an extension cord for 250V, 10A or higher (for model DEPE-189D*(AU)).
Make sure the grounding of the consent box is complete if you use grounding adapter.

inflammable substances (benzene, thinner, alcohol,
ether or LP gas) in the appliance.

● It may freeze kimchi.
Do not put hands or a metal bar under the appliance
or inside the protecting grill against heat.

Store foods in the appliance 3~4 hours later after the

● The appliance requires a few hours to adjust the

Make sure to fill only 70~80% of the kimchi
container with kimchi to prevent its juice from
overflowing, as kimchi ripens.
● As kimchi ripens, it increases its juice and may overflow.
Use containers provided separately for meat,
fish and vegetables.
● It prevents food from drying and is more hygienic.
Please choose a proper function as to foods you
want to keep.
Do not keep foods required for different storage
temperature together.
Check the freshness of the foods in dimchae

● DANGER
Risk of child entrapment. Before you throw away your old refrigerator or freezer:
• Take off the doors
• Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.
Please open upper lids as little as possible
while the ‘Fermentation’ function is on.
● Outside air may change room temperature or
degrade the taste of Kimchi.
Do not open upper lids during a power failure.
● Do not open dimchae

during a power failure to keep
cool air inside. Cool air inside the appliance may last for
two hours after a power failure.
Cool down hot food before putting it in dimchae
○

● Hot food affects kimchi kept in the same shelf,
making kimchi sour.
Do not spray water over the appliance.
Keep the control panel dry by using a dry cloth
to clean.
Use sponge or a gentle cloth with lukewarm water and
or a detergent to clean the surface of the appliance.
Completely dry the surface using a soft cloth.
To defrost the appliance, first take out all the foods and
press the
[Ez클린] button, and leave the lid open.
Clean the inside with a dry cloth. (Refer to page 25)
● Do not use a hair dryer for hot air.

Store Kimchi container that you are not using in the
shade, and store without piling them up.
● They may change color or shape due to direct light.
● Store by covering with the cover since piling up one on

Abuzzing sound.
When the warning lamp is switched on together
with a buzzing sound, the appliance is not working
properly. Press any button to stop the buzzing
sound and contact a service center nearby.
Please remove the lid when disposing the appliance.

❶ After the appliance is delivered, thoroughly read the
Safety Precautions in the dimchae○manual.
“Safety Precautions” (pages 3~12)
❷ Select a place to install the appliance.
Follow the details in “Safety Precautions” and particularly focus on the floor, the
temperature and the surrounding area.
❸ Make sure to refer to ‘Safety Precautions’ with regard to power equipment.
A grounded power socket is strongly recommended.
● A place that does not receive direct sunshine, or heat from heating equipment.
● A place that does not get wet.
● A place that is not overheated and does not have sudden changes in temperature.
● A place with a strong and flat floor.
● A place in which the appliance is installed with 4˝space from the wall.

Do not open the lid unnecessarily.
● Cool air let out of dimchae

●When installed in a place with a high temperature, the compressor use increases, consuming more electricity.
●Electricity consumption varies depending on the ways of using the appliance and the modes selected.
● Follow the instructions below for power saving.
Cool down hot food before putting it in dimchae

appliance, causing increased electricity consumption
to lower the temperature.
Do not open the lid during power failure.
● Every time the lid is opened, outside hot air goes into
the appliance.
● Power failure for less than two hours may not affect
food in dimchae

Store kimchi ripened appropriate in 표준보관 , and choose 강보관 for overly ripened kimchi.

● Store vegetables and fruits without washing and in vegetable container. The wet surface may
spoil them quickly.
● Select the function according to the types and freshness of the vegetable/fruit.
● It allows to store vegetable/fruit fresh.
It is not for long-term storage; so, please check contents frequently while storing.

● When the power comes back after a power failure, do not operate the
buttons.
The appliance automatically starts operating again in the mode selected
previously.
발효과학 is selected, the appliance automatically calculates the time a particular mode
requires and starts operating. Therefore, you do not need to manipulate the appliance.
● If you do not open the door to keep the cool air inside the appliance during
a power failure, the cool
air may last for two hours.
❶If you hold the lower part of the deodorizing filter cover and pull toward
the direction an arrow indicates (towards the opened door), the cover
of the filter will be opened with a clicking sound.
❷Dry removed filter in the shaded area with good air circulation for
twenty-four hours and reuse it.
Do not dry the deodorizing filter in a microwave oven

● The deodorizing filter will melt and cannot be reused.

Cyclopentane used as a insulation blowing gas. The gases in insulation
material require special disposal procedure. please contact your local
authorities in regard to the envionmentally safe disposal of this product.
Refrigeration from late nineties a cooling system that used HCFC's
(Hydrochlorflurocarbons). (134a) These'gases must be reciaimed.
If you are throwing away your old refrigerator, make sure the HCFC's
refrigerant is removed for proper disposal by a qualified servicer.
If you intentionally relese this HCFC's refrigerant, you can be subject to
fines and imprisonment under provisions of enviromental legislation.
Ensure that none of the pipes on the back of the appliances are damaged
prior to disposal. The pipes shall be broke in the open space.
I can hear water running while the

■ The sound is caused by changes in air

Trading Ltd)는 위니아만도㈜의 보증수리 서비스 센터로써 미국 및 캐나다에서 판매된 제품(딤채)에 대해
제조상의 결함이 발생되었을 경우, 해당지역(미국과 캐나다)에서 구입한 날로부터 1년간 무상수리 서비스를
받을 수 있습니다.
본 무상 보증수리에서 외관적인 사항, 부속품 및 기타 선택 부품들(용기, 전시대 등)에 대한 사항은 무상수리
대상에 해당되지 않습니다.
무상보증 수리는 최초 원 구매자에게만 제공됩니다. 무상보증 수리를 받기 위해 고객은 제품 구입 영수증
또는 최초 구매 일자를 증명할 수 있는 다른 증빙을 제출하여야 합니다.
본 무상보증은 제품의 정상적인 사용 중 자재 및 제조상에 결함이 있을 경우에 한해서만 제공됩니다. 본
무상보증은 배송 중 발생되는 제품의 손상, 보증수리 서비스 제공자가 공급하지 않은 제품(재생품 또는
