Installation Guide for VW Group

Introduction:
Many Audi and VW o ners don’t have any intentions of buying a
SiriusXM subscription and many don’t use CD’s but eager to find a
ay to connect and play their Smartphone or Tablet on the car
system. This is the perfect scenario for the A2D-VW02. The A2D-
VW02 only requires that the vehicle be equipped ith an XM
Module or an external CD Changer** and uses that port to provide
a ireless connection for any A2DP enabled Smartphone or Tablet.
A ireless connection means no ires, clutter or complicated setup,
simply pair the device and enjoy. SiriusXM Module or external CD
Changer is disabled hen the A2D-VW02 is installed.

Installation:
Warning!
Although not critical, e recommend disconnecting the car
battery. Keep in mind that many Audi/VW radios are coded and ill not
operate ithout the code. Radio code must be available for radio to operate
upon reconnection.
Remove radio from the dashboard to gain access to the
connector. Round edge radios (e.g. RNS, RCD etc.) must
disassemble dash for removal and instructions are not part of
this guide but available upon request. Square edge Radios (e.g.
Premium 6, 7 etc.) require (4) removal tools (See Fig. 1) hich
must be purchased separately.

1. To remove radio, slide tools into (4) slots at each corner as
illustrated in Fig. 2. Withdra the radio by pulling out ards.

2. disconnect factory12- ay plug (if present) (See Fig. 3 )

3. Connect the 12- ay plug from adapter (See Fig. 5) into
radio slot vacated in step 2

4. Ground adapters black lead. One option is to use one of the
radio scre s and secure ground ire to radio chassis.
5. Secure adapter box and proceed to next section.
Pairing:
The pairing process varies from Phone to Phone but the basic steps
are the same. This process is done upon initial install and ill not
have to be repeated
1. Turn Ignition and Radio “ON”

2. On A2DP device: go to
Settings, Wireless & Net orks,
Bluetooth Settings
3. Select
Bluetooth
and turn on.
4. Then select Bluetooth settings
5. Tap
Scan for devices
.
6. Wait for the Bluetooth device name to appear and select it.

Test Operation:
1. Turn the Ignition and Radio “ON”
2. Press the “CD” button on Radio
3. Launch Smartphone or tablet streaming application.
4. Use the radio volume control button to set the playback level.
Warning!
Playlist and Track selection is *NOT* possible from
the Radio. Use the smartphone built-in controls to access and
control the audio files.
5. If correct operation is confirmed go ahead and reinstall the
Radio

Frequently asked questions
1. My vehicle has both an external CD Changer and SiriusXM Tuner;
ill I lose both hen this adapter is installed?
YES; this adapter takes the place of the CD Changer and/or XM.
2. Does the A2D-VW02 ork in vehicles ith a 6-CD Changer radio
(changer is built-into the radio)?
YES; but the external CD Changer (if present) must be disconnected
and ill no longer function.
3. Can I use the A2D-VW02 for hands free calls?
NO; the A2D-VW02 does not support Hands-Fee Calling but does
support ireless Audio Streaming Profile (A2DP).
4. Will I be able to control my phone from the radio buttons?
NO, you must the Smartphones or Tablet built-in control for music
selection
Important Notes:
The A2D-VW02 orks in select VW Group Vehicles ith an external CD
CHANGER and/or SiriusXM Radio.
Your vehicle must have at least one of these t o options for the Adapter to
ork. In the case of SiriusXM, no subscription is required but the Satellite
Radio Tuner is required
Plug-n-play installation to factory radio in the dash (does not
connect to the iring in the trunk or else here
** External or remote CD Changer refers to the optional Changer installed in glove
box, lo er dash, center armrest, hatch, trunk etc. (external CD Changer is not the
Changer built-into the head unit e.g. Symphony Radio etc.)
