1. PACKING LIST
Please check the contents of the package
immediately upon opening the sealed box and before
installation. The package should contain the
following:
♦WICE.box unit
♦Remote Control
♦Audio Video Cable (AV Cable)
♦User Manual
If any of the items are found missing please contact
where it was purchased from.
Optional Accessories depending upon the model are:
♦Remote Interface Module for Keyboard
♦RF signal output for older TV sets and RF cable
♦Data Cable
♦S-Video Cable

2. INSTALLATION OF WICE.box

The installation can be done only where a
WICE.MAN (RAMNet) connection is available.
Authorized personnel will do this connection. The
Fig.1 below shows the back panel of WICE.box.
This unit works on 230VAC, 50Hz power supply.

For televisions having AV type input, an AV cable
(provided with the kit) is connected from
“VIDEO”, “R-AUDIO-L” as show in Fig.2

For televisions having only RF input, WICE.box
model with RF output is required. An RF cable is
connected from the point named “TV” to the
antenna input of the television as shown in Fig.3.

Any TV can be tuned for the WICE.box video signal
by using the “TEST SIGNAL” switch when it gives
vertical bars to TV.

♦Input Connectivity :
For WICE.box on DSL network, as shown in Fig. 4.1,
connect the input telephone line to the splitter
(LINE). The splitter has two more ports, connect one
port (Phone) to the Telephone and the other port
(MODEM) to the DSL Modem. Both connections are
through normal twisted pair cables. Connect the
Ethernet port of the DSL Modem to the Input of
WICE.box (RAMNET port) through UTP cable. Connect
computer to the COMPUTER port (optional) of

WICE.box and AV cable to VIDEO/AUDIO ports of
WICE.box.
For WICE.box on Pure Ethernet network, as shown in
Fig. 4.2, connect the port line from Distribution Module
to the Input of WICE.box (RAMNET port) through UTP
cable. Connect computer to the COMPUTER port
(optional) of WICE.box and AV cable to VIDEO/AUDIO
ports of WICE.box.
♦Data Connectivity :
A straight UTP cable is used to connect a computer to
WICE.box. This provides data connectivity to the
computer via the RAMNet connection coming to the
WICE.box. Any standard Ethernet card (10/100Mbps)
working at 10 Mbps can be used inside the PC.
♦Video Output :
Most TV sets provide a composite video input. It can
be connected to the Video output (yellow) of the
WICE.box via the A-V cable. For old TV sets which do
not have a AV input, you may need a different model
of WICE.box which provides RF output.
♦Audio Output:
Stereo left and right channel connectors can be
connected to any stereo type audio input of a
television via the same AV cable that is used for video.
For TVs not having stereo audio input, any one audio
output (left or right) can be connected to the audio
input of the TV.
Headphone output in stereo is also available for
personal listening. You can turn down the TV volume
when using a headphone with WICE.box.
♦S-Video output :
It is a video output signal used for better picture

quality. Some newer TV sets have an S-Video input
facility where a suitable S-Video cable can be
connected to view the picture. The same can be used
to get better picture quality from a LCD projector in a
home theatre.
Other features include:
•SURROUND SOUND (back panel)
•KARAOKE FACILITY (front panel)
Note: Some features like Surround Sound, Karaoke
Microphone input and RF output may not be active in
regular model of WICE.box.

The Remote Control of WICE.box is as shown in below.
The Main menu can be seen on the TV screen by pressing
the MENU button on the remote control. You may use the
PROG~or the PROG€ to change the current option from
the displayed list. Pressing the OK button will perform the

Buttons:
MENU
When it is pressed it displays
the menu.
~~ UP
It is a menu navigation button.
To move up one item in any
menu list of options press it
once.
€DOWN
It is a menu navigation button.
To move down one item in any
menu list of options press it
once.
OK
It is used to select the current
menu option.

ƒƒ-VOLUME DOWN
Decreases volume level.
+„„ VOLUME UP
It increases volume level.
Note : Press ƒƒ-and +„„ simultaneously to Mute the
audio. To resume the audio, press either button and set
the volume.
Main Menu options
Channels
1.Go to CHANNELS option and press OK button.
2.To surf through the channels use the PROG~or the
PROG €button or the channels can be directly
accessed by pressing “-/—” button and by pressing the
desired channel numbers.
VOD (Video On Demand)
1. Go to VOD option and press OK button.
2. Enter the password (default 1234).
3. To browse through movie list, press the PROG~or
the PROG€button and then press the OK button to
start playing the movie.
4. The movie can be forwarded by pressing the FF „„
button and fast rewind using the REW ƒƒ button
and pressing play button after selecting the size of
tracks to be skipped.
5. The movie can be paused by pressing the PAUSE
button and continue from the same position by
pressing the PLAY button.
6. While watching VOD if you switch to some other
application (Channels, Radio) and after some time
you again come back to VOD, it will ask you to
continue the same movie or start the new movie.

the current movie and start new movie press K4
from remote.
7. While watching VOD if power goes off or
WICE.box resets, then after booting up select
VOD and enter password (default 1234). It will
ask you to continue the same movie or start the
new movie. To continue the same movie
press OK and to cancel the current movie and
start new movie press K4 from remote.
Radio
1. Go to RADIO option and press OK button.
2. To surf through the audio channels press PROG~
or the PROG€button and the radio channels will
change automatically.
SMS & E-MAIL
These selections will require the optional remote IR
interface module for keyboard and the PS/2
compatible keyboard (not supplied by manufacturer).
1. Plug in the keyboard into the IR interface module.
2. Press START button on the IR interface module.
3. To check anytime if the keyboard is active press
the Scroll Lock key on the keyboard. If the Scroll
Lock led blinks the keyboard is active. The
keyboard interface will automatically turn off to
extend battery life, if there is no activity for more
than 5 minutes. To re-activate the keyboard
interface press the START button once again.
SMS 1. Go to SMS option and press OK button.
2. A menu will be displayed as shown below

when power is applied. If not, check the
AC power source.

is not blinking the trouble could be in the
incoming connection or cable.
?Check if you are connected and sub-
scribed to the services like Broadcast
Channels, Video-on-demand, SMS, Email,
Radio, etc.

7. To check your INBOX select RECEIVE SMS and

INBOX:
The SMS in your INBOX will be displayed one by one
with the latest SMS first and a submenu will be
displayed as shown below
1. *DELETE
2. REPLY
3. FORWARD
4. SAVE IN FRIENDLIST
NEXT QUIT
1. To delete the SMS select DELETE and press OK.
2. The SMS will be deleted and the next SMS will be
displayed on the screen or error message
(INBOX EMPTY) will be displayed if no SMS is
present.
REPLY:
1. To reply back to the mobile number select REPLY
and press OK.
2. A message will be displayed MESSAGE: (PRESS ESC)
Enter your message and press Esc.
3. The same SMS will be displayed back in
confirmation to reply SMS.
4. To forward the SMS to other mobile select
FORWARD and press OK.
5. A message will be displayed “Mobile No: (PRESS
ESC)”

6. Enter the mobile number to which you want to
forward the SMS and press ESC. (Remember
not to press the Enter key).
7. The same SMS will be displayed back in
confirmation to forward SMS.
8. To save the mobile number in your friend list
select SAVE IN FRIEND LIST and press OK.
9. A message will be displayed “ENTER FRIEND
NAME: (MAX. 8 CHAR)”
10. Enter the friend name and press ESC.
11. The same SMS with the mobile number
replaced with the friend name will be
displayed back in confirmation to save in
friend list.
FRIEND LIST:
To manage the friend list select FRIEND LIST and
press OK.
1. A submenu will be displayed as shown below
1. *ADD FRIEND
2. VIEW FRIEND LIST
QUIT
2. To add a friend select ADD FRIEND and press
OK.
3. A message will be displayed “MOBILE NO:
(PRESS ESC)”
4. Enter the mobile number and press ESC.
5. A message will be displayed “ENTER FRIEND
NAME: (MAX. 8 CHAR)”
6. Enter the friend name and press ESC.

USER PASSWORDS
The default passwords are
•Press 1234 for VOD menu.
•Press 3792 to get the default settings.
To change the default password to your own
password, press MENU key of the remote and
then press SETUP key. A menu shown below will
be displayed
USER PASSWORD MENU
1. *CHANGE VOD PASSWORD
2. GET DEFAULT SETTINGS
QUIT
1. To change the VOD password select
“CHANGE VOD PASSWORD” and press OK
2. A message will be displayed “ENTER OLD
PASSWORD:”
3. Enter old password (default 1234) and press
OK from remote.
4. A message will be displayed “ENTER NEW
PASSWORD: “
5. Enter new password which you want and
press OK from remote.
6. A message will be displayed “CONFIRM
PASSWORD:”
7. Re-enter the new password and press OK
from remote.
8. The WICE.box will get reset for confirmation
of password change.
9. To get back the default settings of the
WICE.box select “GET DEFAULT SETTINGS”
and press OK.

10. A message will be displayed
“PRESS KEY SEQUENCE:”
11. Enter the key sequence 3792 and press OK
from remote.
12. The WICE.box will get reset to the default
settings.
NOTE: The key sequence to get the default
settings can not be changed.
