2 INTRODUCTION
3 USE
The d-guard 940 phototrap is an automatic surveillance camera that
monitors an area of interest using a passive infrared (PIR) sensor, which
is triggered when movement of people or animals is detected. When
motion is detected, the photo trap automatically takes pictures or
videos.
The phototrap remains in standby mode and activates independently
within 0.4 s of motion detection. During the day, it takes colour photos
or videos. At night or in low-light conditions, the camera‘s infrared LEDs
activate, acting as an invisible ash to take black and white photos and
videos.
The phototrap is waterproof and snowproof, so it can be left outdoors
for months while automatically saving photos or videos in digital format
to a MicroSD memory card. In standby mode, the battery lasts up to
8 months.

6 SWITCHING ON/OFF PHOTOTRAP
6.1 Switch ON/SETUP/OFF
The ON/SETUP/OFF switch has three possible positions:
Position ON: In this position, the phototrap automatically takes
photos and records videos when the motion detector is triggered.
SETUP position: in this position you can use the MENU button to
access the functions listed in the table on this page.
5 PREPARATION PHOTOPASTES
5.1 Installing batteries
The d-guard 940 is powered by a 6V DC adapter (not included) or
4/8× 1.5V AA batteries (not included). For longer operating life, it is
recommended to use 8 batteries.
You can use the following types of 1.5V batteries:
we recommend using high capacity alkaline batteries
rechargeable lithium batteries
rechargeable NiMH battery
5.2 Installing a MicroSD memory card
The d-guard 940 is equipped with a MicroSD memory card slot up to
32 GB (not included). Make sure the ON/SETUP/OFF switch is in the OFF
position before inserting or removing the MicroSD memory card. The
MicroSD card must be empty, i.e. no images from other devices. If the
MicroSD card has previously been used in other devices, format it
before using it from this camera or a computer. Many MicroSD cards
formatted from other cameras have poor compatibility with dierent
brands of cameras. If the card is new, you can use it without formatting.
Before inserting a MicroSD card, you must disable write protection on
the card itself, otherwise the phototrap will not function properly. After
performing the above steps, open the cover of the photo trap and insert
the MicroSD memory card all the way into the slot according to the
orientation indicated by the icon engraved next to the slot.
