Thank you for purchasing a Dcare system.
I - Introduction
The Dcare solution is a system that ensures the well-being of loved ones and
the maintenance of intergenerational ties in families.
Simple, discreet and effective, the Dcare solution ensures good ageing
thanks to a connected bracelet.
From a mobile application, the wearer’s family and friends are reassured via
activity monitoring and are alerted in the event of a problem. Seniors can
therefore continue to live at home in total autonomy and peace of mind.
This user manual guides you through the few steps of installation and
explains in detail how the solution works, for an optimal experience.

5
I - Introduction
Coverage and indoor range
The Dcare solution aims to ensure the well-being of seniors inside their homes.
In order to do this, the system needs to cover the entire premises to ensure
monitoring and detection at all times.
Thanks to a few smart Plugs placed at various strategic locations inside the
house, it ensures the safety of the wearer in every room.
For full coverage, these Plugs should be placed on direct wall sockets that are
not obstructed by furniture or substantial obstacles.
The signal range depends on many factors such as the presence of walls and
their material. In case the house is not fully covered by the basic set of 3 Dcare
Plugs, additional Plugs are available for rent as an option.
B – General recommendations
A – Preamble
Because the Dcare system is constantly evolving to
keep pace with innovation and your expectations,
some of the material in this manual may seem
outdated. In this case, up-to-date information is
available on our website.

I - Introduction
Dcare Box
Central point of the system, connected to an Internet connection.
It is the relay between the home installation and the
mobile application to collect the data captured by
the Dcare bracelet.
D – Your Dcare equipment
How to install it?
The Dcare Box must communicate with your Dcare Plugs to receive tracking
information. Therefore, make sure that it is positioned in an open area, on a
piece of furniture for example, close to your Internet routeur.
Then simply plug it into the mains via the supplied power cable and connect
it to the routeur with the Ethernet cable also supplied.
Understand the Dcare Box
The Dcare Box provides information via sound and light signals, which are
detailed in the Indicator LED codes and sound alerts section (p.21).

II - Your system
All the elements of the Dcare solution work together in a complete ecosystem
to give you access to a wide range of features. Here is a list of the main features
and a description of what they allow.
B – Main features
Manual alerts
In the event of a problem, the wearer can send a manual distress signal via the
Dcare bracelet to notify the supervisor(s). To do this, the wearer simply presses
and holds the button on the bracelet for two seconds.
Any application connected to this Dcare bracelet
will then receive a notification stating that
the wearer needs help. Whoever receives this
notification can then trigger the necessary actions.
For example, the Dcare application offers to call
the number registered during the configuration
of the installation and corresponding to the wearer
(classic GSM call).

12
II - Your system
Fall detection
The Dcare bracelet is equipped with 5 on-board sensors as well as a smart
algorithm, allowing it to detect the wearer’s falls. It detects both heavy and
soft falls, in order to prevent any type of danger.
When a fall is detected, the wearer can press
the main button on the wristband to cancel the
alert (e.g. in the case of a fall with recovery and
no consequences). If no action is taken within a
few seconds of the fall, the information is sent to
the Dcare Box and a notification is sent to the
supervisor(s)’ smartphone(s).
The notification can be treated in the same way
as a manual alert but will be qualified differently
in the application. The image displayed and the
status will indicate a fall of the wearer.

13
II - Your system
Activity monitoring
Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), the system analyzes the wearer’s daily
habits and provides a warning in case of a break in routine via a notification
from the application.
A simple example: your parent is still in bed at 11am when he or she is usually
up at 8am. You are then directly notified that something is wrong. You can
then take any action you wish to remedy the problem. The application offers
to call (classic GSM call) the number directly linked to the wearer, registered
during the configuration of the installation and the bracelet.
Position request
At any time, a supervisor can request the
wearer’s last know position through the
bracelet data (updated every 15 minutes).
To do so, a position icon is available on the
application’s monitoring screen.

14
II - Your system
Exit alerts
The smart Plugs installed in the home operate within a limited range. This
allows them to operate within the confines of the building and thus cover the
whole house efficiently.
When the bracelet is out of range of the
installation, the Dcare system considers this as
leaving the home. In order to protect the most
vulnerable wearers who may be disorientated,
the system sends a notification via the application
to alert the supervisor(s) that the wearer has left
the house. This feature allows frail people to be
quickly taken care of when an exit is potentially
dangerous.
A notification is also sent to inform of the return
of the wearer home after an exit.

15
II - Your system
Long battery life
For all these features, the Dcare bracelet offers up to 6 months of autonomy.
The Dcare Plugs and the Dcare Box are constantly powered from their
respective sockets and the Dcare bracelet uses a high-quality battery: no
regular recharging is required. A second battery is already included in the
Dcare starter kit for initial replacement.
On the monitoring screen of the Dcare app, an indicator shows how much
power is left in the battery at any given time. When the battery reaches its end
of life, a notification is automatically sent via the app and the indicator will be
highlighted. This saves the wearer from worrying about the battery life of the
bracelet and helps to anticipate battery changes.

16
II - Your system
C - Use of the bracelet
Switching to configuration mode: press the button 4 times in a row, holding
it down for the 4th time and releasing it when the LED turns blue. It then
flashes blue.
This mode is only useful during the configuration of the Dcare bracelet, at the end of which it will
exit configuration mode by itself. You should never have to exit the configuration mode manually.
In order to configure it and to use its manual alert functionalities, the Dcare
bracelet calls on its button according to a few manipulations:
Alert cancelation : Press the button twice in succession when the LED is
flashing red to cancel an alert (manual help request or fall detection).
Manual help request : Press and hold the main button until the LED turns
red (approximately 2 seconds). It will then continue to flash red until an alert
cancellation or after a 3 minutes delay.
Each request for manual assistance and fall detection can be cancelled by the wearer in the event
of a false alarm or accidental press within 30 seconds.

17
III - Installation and setup
Placing the Plugs
A – Placing the Plugs and learning
For optimal operation and accurate indoor location, it is imperative to place
the Dcare Plugs in the home with the following recommendations in mind:
1. Move the Dcare Plugs as far apart as possible to cover the largest
area in the home, in the idea of triangulation.
2. Avoid placing the Dcare Plugs in rooms that are not used regularly.
3. Position the Dcare Plug on an wall, preferably not obstructed
by furniture or any other obstacle.

18
III - Installation and setup
4.Use a direct wall socket rather than a power strip.
There is a risk that a power strip will be moved
- and therefore the indoor location will not
be accurate - or that it will be switched off
by accident. If you want to use a power strip,
make sure that it is never moved or turned off.
Also avoid connecting a power strip to the
Dcare Plug socket. If the socket has a lot of
appliances plugged into it, an overload could
damage the plug.
