Bitte lesen Sie vor dem Anbringen des
Energiesparreglers die Bedienungsanlei-
tung. Bewahren Sie die Unterlagen zum
Nachschlagen auf und geben Sie diese bei
Weitergabe des Gerätes mit.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Das varmo TZ eco ist für die Verwend-
ung in Gebäuden vorgesehen.
• Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur wie in der
Bedienungsanleitung beschrieben.
• Das varmo TZ eco sollte nur an einem
trockenen und staubfreien Ort ohne di-
rekte Sonneneinstrahlung in Gebrauch
genommen werden.
• Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht weiter,
wenn es offensichtliche Beschädigun-
gen aufweist.
• Das varmo TZ eco darf nicht umge-
baut, modiziert oder geöffnet werden.
Warnhinweis
Batterien niemals wieder auaden, nicht
kurzschließen, nicht auseinander nehmen
– Explosionsgefahr! Erschöpfte Batterien
umgehend aus dem Gerät entfernen.
Keine gebrauchten und neuen Batterien
zusammen verwenden. Batterien und
Gerätekontakte vor dem Einlegen bei
Bedarf reinigen. Batterien von Kindern
fernhalten. Kontakt mit Haut, Augen und
Schleimhäuten vermeiden. Bei Kontakt
mit Batteriesäure die betroffenen Stellen
sofort mit reichlich klarem Wasser spülen
und umgehend einen Arzt aufsuchen.
Batterien einlegen / wechseln
Entfernen Sie den Batteriedeckel, indem
Sie ihn an der markierten Stelle nach oben
drücken und aushängen. Legen Sie nun die
Batterien ein. Achten Sie auf die richtige Po-
larität! Bei einem späteren Batteriewechsel
bleibt die Konguration Ihres varmo TZ eco
erhalten.

Informiert über mechanische Vorgänge.

Installation
Setzen Sie Ihren primären Z-Wave Cont-
roller in den Inclusion-Modus und folgen
Sie den Schritten.
1.Hinzufügemodus (Inclusion) wird ange-
zeigt
Boost-Taste betätigen
2.Display zeigt Node-ID
Hinzufügen abgeschlossen
3.Installationsmodus wird angezeigt
Gerät am Heizkörper montieren
4.Nach erfolgreicher Installation drücken
Sie die grün blinkende Boost-Taste, um
die Adaptierung zu starten. Nach abge-
schlossener Adaptierung zeigt das Display
die Solltemperatur an.
Montage
Im Display
erscheint (Installation) und
die Boost-Taste blinkt grün (noch nicht
drücken). Folgen Sie den Schritten zur In-
stallation.
1.Alten Thermostatkopf ganz aufdrehen,
Befestigung lösen und vom Ventil abziehen.
2. Wählen Sie ggf. einen passenden Adapter
und montieren Sie ihn auf das Ventil.
3.Drehen Sie den Energiesparregler auf
das Ventil bzw. auf den Adapter, bis er
einrastet.

Demontage des varmo TZ eco
Entfernen Sie den varmo TZ eco aus dem
Netzwerk, bevor Sie das Gerät demontie-
ren. Hierzu bringen Sie bitte Ihren Z-Wave
Controller in den Entfernmodus (Exclusion).
Danach halten Sie die Boost-Taste für 5
Sekunden gedrückt. Das LCD zeigt bei er-
folgreichem Entfernen Node ID 0 und der
Ventilstößel fährt in Montageposition. War-
ten Sie bis das LCD zeigt.
Drehen Sie nun die Überwurfmutter auf und
nehmen sie varmo TZ eco vom Ventil ab.

auf der Unterseite sitzende Druck-
stück herausfallen, wenn der Regler

Please read this User Manual carefully be-
fore installing the varmo TZ eco thermostat
and store this manual for documentation.

Safety Instructions
• varmo TZ eco is designed for use in
buildings.
• Operate varmo TZ eco only as de-
scribed in the user manual.
• varmo TZ eco should only be put to use
in a dry and dust-free place, away from
direct sunlight.
• Do not keep using the device when
there is obvious damage.
• varmo TZ eco may not be rebuilt,
modied or opened.
Warning
Never recharge batteries, do not short
circuit them, do not take them apart - Risk
of explosion! Remove dead batteries from
the device immediately.
Do not use old and new batteries together.
Clean battery and device contacts before
inserting if necessary.
Keep batteries away from children. Avoid
contact with skin, eyes and mucous mem-
branes. In case of contact with battery
acid, rinse the affected areas immediately
with plenty of water, and seek medical
attention immediately.
Inserting / replacing batteries
Remove the battery cover by simply pulling
it off. Now insert the batteries. Pay attenti-
on to the correct polarity! At a later battery
change, the conguration of your varmo TZ
eco is maintained.

Displays if the varmo TZ eco is includ-

4.After succesful installation press the
green blinking button to start the adapti-
on. Once the adaptation is completed, the
display shows the setpoint temperature.
Mounting
After succesful inclusion the display shows
and the button is green blinking (don‘t
press it yet). Follow the steps for installation.
1.Turn the manual thermostat head up com-
pletely, loosen the fastening and pull the
thermostat off of the valve.
2.Use an appropriate adapter, if required,
and push it onto the valve.
3.Now, you put varmo TZ eco on the
connector.

Removing
Exclude the varmo TZ eco from the network
before removing. Set Z-Wave Controller in
Exclusion mode. Hold the boost button for at
least 5 seconds to exclude. When this pro-
cess is nished, is again on the display.
Unscrew the cap nut and remove varmo TZ
eco off the valve.
Help and error messages
Error Cause/Solution
Batteries do not have enough power.
Replace batteries.
Heating

warm up.
Is the boiler water temperature O.K.?
Valve does not open, is it calcied after
the summer pause/heating pause?
Adjust the temperature of the boiler
water. Remove the varmo TZ eco,
move the valveback and forth per hand
or with a tool.
Heating
element

not cool
down.
Valve does not close completely. It
may be that the closing point of your
valve seat has shifted.
Adapt again (see “Adapting”) Move
the valve stem several times by hand,
it may be that adaptation is impossible
because your valve is calci ed or the
seat no longer performs its function.
Pressure
piece falls
out (This
can also
cause an
E1-error).
Due to an endless thread the pres-
surepiece, which is situated at the
bottom, can fall out if the device has
not been afxed on the valve.
Put in the pressure piece. The device
can be adapted by removing and
inserting the batteries. The endless
thread is rotating now and xes the
pressure piece again. Just install it to
the radiator and adapt it once again.
ER1-ER3 The error code can be cleared by
pressing the boost button.
ERR Inclusion failed.
Z-Wave Controller out of range.
ER1 Valve positioning not possible.
Check if the valve is jammed.
ER2 Valve not detected.
Check if the varmo TZ eco is correc-
tly mounted.
ER3 Valves closing point not detected.
Check if the varmo TZ eco is correc-
tly mounted.

Warranty:
The two-year warranty begins on the day of
purchase. Please keep the receipt as evidence
of purchase in the future. During the guarantee
period, defective radiator thermostats may be
sent to the service address below. Please en-
sure sufcient postage is paid.
A new or repaired device will then be sent to
you free of charge. Following expiry of the gua-
rantee, you may still send the defective device
to the address below for repairs. Please ensure
sufcient postage is paid. Repairs carried out
after the guarantee period are subject to a
charge. Your legal rights are not affected by
this guarantee.
There is no new warranty period starting when
repairing or replacing the device. Please note
that we only grant warranty on the function
of the device. We will not grant warranty for
the interaction between the thermostat and
the bottom part of the valve. The technical
data is only valid for the use of the following
valves: Heimeier, Junkers Landys + Gyr, MNG,
Honeywell, Braukmann (measure of thread
M30 x 1,5), Oventrop (M30 x 1,5) Danfoss RA,
RAV and RAVL.

Remove the battery cover by simply pulling
it off. Now insert the batteries. Pay attenti-
on to the correct polarity! At a later battery
change, the conguration of your varmo TZ
eco is maintained.

Mounting

1.Turn the manual thermostat head up com-
pletely, loosen the fastening and pull the
thermostat off of the valve.
2.Use an appropriate adapter, if required,
and push it onto the valve.
3.Now, you put varmo TZ eco on the
connector.

Exclude the varmo TZ eco from the network
before removing. Set Z-Wave Controller in
Exclusion mode. Hold the boost button for at
least 5 seconds to exclude. When this pro-
cess is nished, is again on the display.
Unscrew the cap nut and remove varmo TZ
eco off the valve.

Mounting

1.Turn the manual thermostat head up com-
pletely, loosen the fastening and pull the
thermostat off of the valve.
2.Use an appropriate adapter, if required,
and push it onto the valve.
3.Now, you put varmo TZ eco on the
connector.

Removing
Exclude the varmo TZ eco from the network
before removing. Set Z-Wave Controller in
Exclusion mode. Hold the boost button for at
least 5 seconds to exclude. When this pro-
cess is nished, is again on the display.
Unscrew the cap nut and remove varmo TZ
eco off the valve.
Help and error messages

Due to an endless thread the pres-

the radiator and adapt it once again.
ER1-ER3 The error code can be cleared by
pressing the boost button.
ERR Inclusion failed.
Z-Wave Controller out of range.

Safety Instructions
