Before starting to use the camera, please note the following safety hints:
• YourcameraisttedwithaweatherproofhousingaccordingtoprotectionclassIP54(dustandsplashwaterproof.Therefore
thecameracanbeusedoutdoors.Neverthelessprotectthecamerafromextremeweatherconditionsanddirectsunlight.
Therecommendedstorageandoperationtemperatureis-10to40°C.
• Makesuretousefreshbatteriesofthesametypeandbrandonly.
• Useasoftcleaningtissuetocleanthecameralens.Avoidtouchingthelenswithyourngers.
• Removedustandspotsatthecamerahousingwithasoftandslightlydamptissue.
• Storethecameraatadryandcoolplacewhennotinuse.
• Removethebatteriesincaseyoudonotusethecameraforalongerperiod.
• Donotdropthecameraontoahardsurface.
• Donotopenthecamerahousing(exceptprotectivecoverandbatterycover).Thewarrantywillbecomevoid.Incaseofadefect,
sendthecameratoanauthorizedserviceagent.

QUICK START GUIDE
Choose one of the two available Energy Sources
Insert4AAbatteriesineachofthe2batterycompartmentsmakingsuretorespectthecorrectpolarityorconnectthecamera
toa12VbatteryusingthesocketDC12Vatthecamerabottom.AAbatteriesand12Vbatteryarenotincludedinthescopeof
delivery.
Insertion of the SD/SDHC Memory Card
InserttheSDmemorycardintothecardslotatthecamerabottom.Respectthesymbolforthedirectionofinsertion.Makesure
touseaSDmemorycardwithacapacityofminimum2GB,max32GBandspeedofminimumClass10.
Camera Installation
Mountthecameraonatreeorpoleoranyothersuitableobjectusingthesuppliedbeltor.Donotxthebeltnallyatthisstage.Make
surethatthecamerawon’tmovewiththewind.Theoptimumdistancetotheobjectisbetween3to12meters.Theoretically,larger
distancesarealsopossible,howeverwithlessreliabilityandalargerpictureframe.Werecommendtotakeafewtestshotsandto
nallyxthecameraafterwards–readmoreinchaptercameraprogramming.
Camera Activation
Usetherotarydialtoselectthedesiredsetting.Fordetailsreadthechaptercameraprogramming.

With this setting the screen shows the following information:
1. –Delay.Thecameracountsdownfrom30to0s.
2. –Ready.Thecameraisnowinoperationandreadytotakepictures.
3.Thedisplayalsoshowsachartindicatingthebatterystatus.
4. Incasethecameradoesnotnoticeanymovements,thedisplaywillswitchoafter10s.
Inthismodethecameratakespictureswitharesolutionof6MP.Witheveryactivationofthemotionsensor,thecameratakes
3continuousshots.Thenthemotionsensortakesa30spauseduringwhichnopicturesaretaken.

Inthismodethecameratakesa10svideosequencewithVGAresolution.Thenthemotionsensortakesa30spauseduringwhich
nopicturesaretaken.
CUSTOM:
Inthismode,youcanprogramthecameraaccordingtoyourrequirements.Therearealsodefaultsettings–seechaptercamera
activation.Whenyouselectthismode,thecamerawillcountdownfrom30to0seconds.Thenthepre-programmingbecomesactive.
Thedisplayshows"rdy"forapprox.1minute.Usetheupanddownkeysduringthecountdowntoreachtheprogrammingmode.
Menunavigationinprogramingmode:PressingENTERconrmsyourchoiceandopensasubmenu.Usetheupanddownkeysto
selectthedesiredfunctionsandvaluesasforexampledateandtime.
Exampleinmenuitem"Date":
• Selectcustomsmodeusingtherotarydial.Duringcountdownpresstheupkey.Youhavereachedthedatesettingmode.
Usetheupanddownkeystosetthecorrectday,conrmbypressingenter.Thecursornowmovestothemonths.Usetheup
anddownkeysagaintoselectthevalueandpressENTERtoconrmyouchoice.

Selectfromasequenceof5/15/30s.

Camerasettingsareresettothefactory’sdefaultvalues.
• Delete
DeletesalldateontheSCcard.Checkrstiftheimagesandlmshavebeensavedonanothermediabeforeyoudelete.
• Quit
Quitstheprogrammingmode.Afteracountdownof30sthecamerawillbereadytoshoot
Test Mode:
Selectpositiontestwiththerotarydial.Inthismodeyoucancheckthemotionsensor’srange.Moveinfrontofthecameraforward,
backward,totheleftandtotheright.Aslongasyoumovewithinthesensor’srangeagreenLEDwillblinkattherighttopwindowat
thecamerafront.Onceyoumoveoutoftherange,thegreenLEDstopsblinking.Whenevernecessary,redirectthecamera.
MEMORY CARD (SD/SDHC)
Installation
Openthecamera’sprotectivehousing.TheSDcardslotislocatedatthecamerabottom.InserttheSDmemorycardasshownon
thesketchatthehousing.Makesuretoformatthememorycardandthatthecardisnotwrite-protected.Thedisplaywillindicatea
missingorfalseSDmemorycard.
ThecamerasupportsSD/SDHCcardswithacapacityof2GBto32GB.ForbestresultswerecommendtheuseLEXARbrandcards
withaspeedofminimum"Class10".

External Card Reader RemovetheSDcardfromyourcameraanduseanexternalcardreadertoviewtheimagesonyourcomputer.
Youcannowcopyandpastethemordeletethem.
Viewing from Camera ConnectthecameratoyourcomputerusingaUSBcable.YourcomputerwillrecognizetheSDcardasa
removablemedium.Nowyoucanview,copyandpasteordeleteyourimages.
