Using Your Appliance
Before first use
1. Open the box carefully – Do not use a
sharp object as you could damage the
cabinet of the blanket. Remove from the
box and take it out of the plastic bag –
Ensure the bag is disposed of carefully, as
it could be a danger to children if they play
with it.
2. When plugged into the mains, ensure that
the mains cable is tidied away so as not to
become a hazard whereby people could
trip over it.
3. The cable must not be covered.
4. Dispose of the packaging in a responsible
manner.
Securing Fitted Blanket Models
If you purchased a “fitted” electric blanket, you
will notice that there are no tie tags to secure.
Instead, fitted electric blankets have an elastic
skirt sewn into the blanket.
1. Place the electric blanket on the bed with
the controller at the pillow end.
2. Smooth out the folds and wrinkles of the
blanket. Then secure the elastic skirt over
each of the bed’s four corners.
3. If your blanket has only elastic straps
simply ease the straps over each corner of
your mattress. Once the blanket is secure
check for any kinks in the power cord or
heating elements and smooth them out.
WARNING! When you position the cable, make
sure it DOES NOT become trapped or kinked by
any other objects or furniture during use and
storage. Poor positioning of the power cable
may result in injury and/or damage to the user
and their property.
CAUTION! Ensure the blanket is not folded or
creased.
Controlling Your Underblanket
1. Ensure the blanket is fitted to the bed
correctly.
2. Plug the power lead into the closest
socket, using an extension lead if needed,
to ensure that the lead is not stretched.
3. Adjust the temperature for Body or
Feet mode from the 0-9 settings on the
controller. To do this, press the Timer
button to choose the needed heating
time. The time ranges from 1hr to 9hrs and
12 hours.
4. When you’re finished using the blanket,
make sure Power switch on the controller
is in the off position and that the blanket is
unplugged from the mains.
Note: Adjusting the temperature and heating
time between Body and Feet mode will
help dry out any moisture that has been
accumulated in the mattress. You may notice an
odour when using the blanket for the first time
due to the insulation material. This is harmless
and will subside quickly.
CAUTION: On the highest model the 9th
Heat Setting can be used only for preheating
and should NOT be used for more than 30
minutes. Do not use it continuously for the
highest model. For other models it can be used
continuously. It’s recommended to preset the
blanket at the 3rd heat setting for the whole
night (12 hours).
