ADVANCED SETTINGS
You can customize your recorder settings by connecting the Q61 to your computer and
accessing the “factory.txt” file. Once you open the file, you will find that you can change the
following parameters:
TYP: Save the recording files in WAV or mp3 format.
VOR: Voice Activated Recording Sensitivity. You can change this setting if your voice-activated
function is being activated by small noises, or conversely, your recordings show incomplete
recordings because voice activation was not activated at the right time.
Bitrate – This will determine the quality and size of the recording file.
GAIN: To set the sensitivity of the microphone. If the recording is distorted, you should lower the
sensitivity. If your recordings are very low in volume, you should increase the sensitivity.
SECTION: Maximum recording file in minutes.
Date and Time. Set the correct date and time for your recorder. They are usually changed
through the time.exe application; however, if you can't run this app because you have a Mac,
you can change them manually. Please make sure to update them with your current date and
time.
FACTORY SETTINGS
The Q61 recorder acts like a mini computer in many ways. If for some reason the recorder
crashes or freezes, you can reset it by connecting to your Windows computer and formatting the
recorder. After connecting to the computer, click My Computer, find the letter of the mobile drive
and right-click it, select format, and then select quick format. In this way, factory settings can be
restored and most problems will be eliminated. Be sure to back up your recordings and the
time.exe application as they will be deleted once you reformat the recorder.
