Beforeyouconnectthephone cords,follow thesestepstoinstall
thebatteries:
1.Pushdownthebatterydoor tabwithapenorotherpointed
object andliftthebatterydoorout(Fig.1).
2.Insert3size “AA”alkalinebatteriesasshowninsidethe
battery compartment(Fig. 2&Fig. 3).(The negativeside(–)of
thebatterytouchesthebatteryspring.)
3.Replacethebatterydoorandsnapitshut(Fig.4).
•Whenthe batteriesaredead,the displaywillnotshow
anything.Youcan stillmakeorreceivecalls, butyoucan t use
theCallerID functions.
•Ifyourbatteriesbecomecompletelydrained,yourcaller ID data
andmemoriesmaybelost.

1.ConnecttheCOILEDHANDSETCORDtothebottomofthe
handset andtheleft sideofthebase(Step1).
2.Connect the straighttelephone linecord tothe LINECORD
jack onthebottom of the baseunitand telephoneoutlet onthe
wall (Step2).(Ifyouwanttomountthetelephone onthewall,
refertoWallMountinginstructionofthisbooklet.)

Whilethe firstdigit is flashing, you should:
1.PresstheUPorDOWN buttontillthe
first digit ofyourareacodeis displayed
(flashing).
2.Press the DELETEbuttontoaccept
andgotothenextdigit.
3.Repeatabovesteps1and 2tosetthe
2ndand3rddigitsofyourareacode.

Youmayneedtosetup theLCD contrast, language,areacode,
timeanddate,andtoneorpulsemodeforyourtelephone when
youinstallthebatteriesforthe firsttimeorwhenyoumovetoan
areathathasadifferentareacode.Thisisnecessarybecausethe
phonemustdistinguishlocal orlong distancecallstoproperly dial
callsfrom the CallerID list.
Press and holdthe DELETE button,thenpress
theDOWN button,theLCD CONTRAST(5-
greylevel)willshowin thedisplay.Usethe
UPor DOWNbuttontoselect thesuitablegrey-
leveland presstheDELETEbutton toaccept.
Afterwards,yourphone will nowgototheTimeandDatemode,
pressthe UPorDOWNbuttontogetthecorrect numberandpress
theDELETEbutton toaccept. Then the phone will askyouto
select Tone or Pulsemode,press theUPor DOWNbutton to
selectyourdesireddialingmode(“>”flashesbeforeit)andpress
theDELETEbutton toconfirmuntilthenormaldisplayshows.

Flash Function
Useful for call waiting or getting anewdialtone.
If you needapauseinanumber,simplypress the REDIAL/PAUSE
button onyour phone.(Example:Inan officewhere you need todial
a9firsttogetanoutsideline),dial thenumber9and press the
REDIAL/PAUSE button,and then dial the phone number.You will
see a “”displayed forPAUSE. Youmay alsostore this intomemory..

NORMALor LOUD position.
