Infrared Ear Thermometer
Instruction Manual
ATTENTION, SEE
INSTRUCTIONS

Normal human body temperature is a rang, not a fixed value. It fluctuates
throughout the day; generally, lowest in the morning and highest at sunset. It
also tends to decrease with the age - infant has higher temperature than adult .
As well , different sites (oral , axilla , rectum and ear) have different
temperature - generally speaking, ear temperature is close to oral but higher
about 0.5 than axillary temperature.
Human body temperature is controlled and adjusted by the hypothalamus in
the brain and the blood flowing through hypothalamus also flows through ear
drum. Then measuring ear temperature can best reflect the body temperature
than other sites. Our Infrared Thermometer uses infrared technology to
measure infrared energy emitted from the ear drum and surrounding tissue ;
then coverts into the temperature value-safely, conveniently and precisely
measure the ear temperature for you.
Using our Infrared thermometer to take ear temperature, the normal
human body temperature range is
35.5~38.0 (96.4~100.4 )
Table of normal human body temperature range by age:
1. Knowing Body Temperature
However, the normal range is also different from person to person. To
determine your and your family members’ normal temperature
ranges is very important. It can be done easily by using our Infrared
Ear Thermometer. Please practice to take temperatures on yourself
and your healthy family members to determine their normal
temperature ranges.

covered (If moistened with alcohol, please wait and restart after
5 minutes; otherwise, the result of measurement will be too low and
inaccurate).
2. Please read through the instruction manual before using the
thermometer; as proper technique is critical for taking accurate
temperatures. The performance of the thermometer may be adversely
affected with improper usage.
3. Do not use the thermometer outside the operating ambient
temperature of 10 (50 )~40 (104 ).
4. Do not use the thermometer outside the operating ambient humidity
up to 95%RH.
5. Do not use the thermometer when the ear canal is wet, or when the
person is suffering from ear diseases.
6. Earwax and obstructions will affect the accuracy of the thermometer.
7. Sideway sleeping gesture will cause the ear temperature to rise,
please avoid it.
8. The thermometer is calibrated and does not require re-calibration if
used according to the instructions.
9. The measured temperatures may be different in the different ear side.
Please measure the same ear to help ensure the accurate
measurement.

probe. You can use a cotton swap to clean the optical glass; if
moistened with alcohol, waiting and restarting after 5 minutes,
otherwise the result of measurement will be too low.
If the ear temperature is over 38.0 ,it is fever.
FEVER:over 38.0
2. Measuring method (for ear):
Perform an ear tug to straighten the ear canal. This gives the
thermometer a clear view of the eardrum.

the ear up and back.
While tugging the ear, fit the probe snugly into the ear canal as far as
possible and press the measurement button. Release it,when you hear
the Beep.
3.Measuring method (for forehead):
Our forehead measurement is really no touching the skin and only 1
second measuring time.
Since forehead (temporal) temperature is easily affected by the
ambient, if you take forehead temperature and get a reading higher
than 37.0 (98.6 ), it is better to double check if the client has
a fever by switching to ear function and measuring ear temperature.

LCT-210 has forehead function and is better for checking many persons.
We suggest that using the forehead function to check temperature at
first ( aim at forehead at a distance about 1 cm-really do not touch the
skin).
If the person's forehead temperature is higher than 37 , then switch
to ear function to double check his temperature.
~6~
Note: It is recommended that you take three temperatures in the same
ear under the following circumstances. If they are different, use
the highest reading.
Infants in the first 3 months of life.
Children under three years old who have a condition such as a
compromised immune system and for whom the presence or absence
of fever is critical.
When you are first learning to use the ear thermometer until you are
comfortable with the technique and are gaining consistent readings.
Important: As with any type of thermometer, slight temperature
variations( 0.2-0.3 /0.3-0.5 )can happen
, if consecutive measurements are taken.
4.When the display ( LCD) appears" " symbol, you can measure
again. If you don’t press any button within one minute, the ear
