I I SETUP:
1. Remove the LOUDMOUTH rom its package.
2. Install a resh, 9 Volt alkiline battery.
Turn the LOUDMOUTH "OFF" by turning the volume
switch counterclockwise until it "clicks". Remove the
LOUDMOUTH rom the SCBA harness or belt.
Loosen the two thumb scews on the back o the
LOUDMOUTH case and remove the battery
cover. Pull up on the ribbon to eject the old
battery and slide in a new battery. Observe
pr per p larity (the same pin g es in first).
Do not orce the battery down; i it is di icult to
insert, you may have the battery upside down.
Replace the battery cover and assure that the thumb screws are inger tight (not
tightened with pliers). Inspect the battery cover seal to make sure it is evenly
compressed.
WARNING: Batteries must be changed in an area kn wn t be n n-hazard us.
3. Turn your Loudmouth "ON" with the rotary ON-OFF/ Volume
switch and veri y battery condition. Put the unit close to your
ear and listen or a slight hiss. I you can't hear the hiss with
the volume turned up, change the battery be ore proceeding.
Be ore moving to Step 4, turn the unit "OFF" and proceed.
4. Connect the microphone cord to the LOUDMOUTH. Screw it
down inger tight. Do not tighten with pliers.
5. Mount the LOUDMOUTH on your belt, SCBA

back o the case.
THROAT MICROPHONE (LMT-2):
Place the Throat Microphone on your neck. Position the Throat Microphone around your
neck. Assure that the cord exits over the top o the Throat Microphone Band, as i it were
pointing slightly orward and up. The Microphone capsule should sit in the small hollow
between the two, large throat muscles. I you place your ingers in the side o your neck and
slide them towards the ront, you'll eel a slight indentation at the muscle transition point. Place
the capsule o the Throat Microphone right on the
transition, not on your Adam's Apple.
Operating Tips:
I the Band eels too tight, you may loosen it by
"unwinding" the Band. I it eels too
loose, tighten it by "winding" is closed. For maximum
positioning security, attach the Velcro closure to keep
the Band rom loosening.
SAC MICROPHONE (LMT-2S):
Earmark’s SAC Mic sticks to the outside o your SCBA
mask. It works best when attached to a hard lens. Some
masks have speaking diaphragms with protective shields.
The SAC Mic can be attached to the protective material
above or around the speaking diaphragm (but, not the
diaphragm itsel ). I your mask has a so t lens, the
speaking diaphragm shield may be your best alternative.
F ll w the installati n steps pr vided with the SAC
Micr ph ne package.
Operating Tips:
Make certain there are no loose, hard materials vibrating on the SCBA lens. The
microphone “hears” them and broadcasts them as a buzzing sound.
When using the SAC Mic with the Loudmouth Speaker Mic, position the microphone on
the side o your mask opposite the side where you plan to wear the Ampli ier (le t or
right). This will minimize chances or audio eedback i you turn up the volume.
I I I CONTROLS AND OPERATION:
A. ON/OFF VOLUME SWITCH
This switch turns the LOUDMOUTH "ON" and provides
continous volume control rom minumum to maximum. The
switch is specially designed to be operated with gloved
hands.
B. TALK SWITCH
A sliding "TALK" switch is located next to the volume switch
which allows you to disable the speaker (le t) or private
conversation, or enable it (right).
