Safety and General
1. Do not transm t more than 50% of t me. It s mportant as the rad o generates measurable RF energy exposure only when transm tt ng.
2. Changes or mod ficat ons not expressly approved by the manufacturer could vo d the user's author ty to operate the equ pment.
3. Rad o frequency s gnals transm tted may cause nterference to hear ng a ds.
4. Turn off the rad o when near med cal equ pment.
5. Th s product should not be used by people w th pacemakers.
6. Do not use the rad o when dr v ng a veh cle or operat ng mach nery.

Two-way Rad o Operat on
The dev ce was tested for typ cal body-worn operat ons us ng the suppl ed belt-cl p. To ma nta n compl ance w th FCC RF exposure requ re-
ments, body-worn operat ons are restr cted to the suppl ed belt-cl p. For hand-held operat on, the rad o should be held at least 1 nch (2.5cm)
from the user’s face. The use of accessor es that do not sat sfy these requ rements may not comply w th FCC RF exposure requ rements and

OPERATIONAL CAUTIONS

5. To make a call press and hold the PTT key (G) on the s de of the rad o and speak
nto the m crophone. The LED nd cator (C) w ll flash red confirm ng transm ss on.
6. For best vo ce translat on speak d rectly nto the m crophone (F) us ng normal
vo ce levels. Release the PTT key when you are fin shed speak ng.
7. Incom ng messages are rece ved through the bu lt n speaker (E). Adjust the
speaker sound level by rotat ng the volume control knob as follows: clockw se:
h gher, counter-clockw se: lower. Incom ng messages are confirmed by green flash-
ng l ght on LED nd cator.
8. The headset jack (D) allows add t on of aud o accessor es nclud ng speaker m cro-
phone and l ghtwe ght and heavy-duty headsets.
Using Y ur Headsets
Our headsets nclude spec al no se cancell ng
m crophones. For opt mum performance adjust m crophone
boom so the element s d rectly n front of, and approx -
mately 1 - 2” from the user’s mouth.

Each Scrambler UHF is fact ry pr grammed t pr vide discreet private tw -way
v ice c ntact. All utg ing transmissi ns are digitally encrypted and scrambled t
prevent eavesdr pping. In additi n, CTCSS frequency guard pr tects the receive cir-
cuit by bl cking utside interference. C mbined, these features ensure that c mmu-
nicati ns remain c mpletely private.
Operati n
1. Sl de battery onto the back of the transce ver unt l the latch at the bottom cl cks, then follow
the charg ng procedure before operat on.
2. The Power sw tch / volume control knob (B) turns the transce ver on and off and also sets the
ncom ng sound level. Turn the power sw tch / volume control clockw se to turn the transce ver
on.
3. Set the operat ng channel v a the Channel Selector (A). Rotate the Channel Knob
sett ng t to the des red channel. Channel numbers are pr nted on the rad o. The rad o features
an aud ble channel announcement and w ll tell the user the channel selected.
4. Before mak ng a call, mon tor the channel to make sure that no one s us ng the
frequency (opt onal). To mon tor the channel depress and hold the mon tor button (I).

LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
Double aud o beep every 5 seconds nd cates low battery power.
Turn rad o off mmed ately and replace or recharge battery.
Battery Charging
The rechargeable battery included with the Scrambler will n t devel p a mem ry.
Always st re y ur radi s turned OFF between games with any remaining p wer and
then recharge fully bef re the next use.
1. Plug the AC adapter cable nto the jack located on the rear of desktop charger base.
2. Sl de the transce ver and battery pack nto the charger.
3. Plug adapter nto AC outlet.
4. Make sure the battery pack contacts are touch ng the term nals.
5. LED nd cat ons: RED: charg ng, GREEN: full charge.
6. Remove the transce ver from charg ng base when charg ng s completed.
