Wiederverwendbare Abreißkupplung zur Montage an LPG-Schlauchleitungen
Die ELAFLEX ARK ist eine Abreißkupplung, die bei Wegfahrunfällen selbsttätig
den Austritt von Flüssiggas verhindert. Sie wird als 'Hose Break' zwischen dem
Kurzschlauch und dem langen Zapfschlauch montiert und mit dem
Zugseil an der Zapfsäule oder an einem Fixpunkt (z.B. Rammpfahl) befestigt.
Die Befestigung muss für eine höhere Belastung als die maximal mögliche
Trennkraft der ARK ausgelegt sein.
Jede ARK wird vor Auslieferung auf sichere Funktion und Druckdichtigkeit
getestet. Dies wird durch das eingeprägte Prüfdatum dokumentiert.
Bei einer schlauchseitigen Zugkraft von 200 – 500 N trennt die Kupplung
unabhängig vom Innendruck. Hierbei entweichen lediglich ~ 9 cm3Flüssiggas.
Das elastische Break Sleeve BS 19 dient als Öffnungssicherung und dem Schutz
des Ausreißteiles vor mechanischen Beschädigungen der Dichtflächen.
ERSTMONTAGE
Die Montage an der Zapfsäule darf nur von einem autorisierten Monteur unter
Berücksichtigung aller relevanten nationalen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen durch-
geführt werden. Es muss sichergestellt sein, dass der Kurzschlauch und das
Zugseil so befestigt sind, dass in jeder möglichen Wegfahrrichtung des ange-
schlossenen Fahrzeuges die ARK zugbelastet ist und sie damit öffnen kann.
Break Sleeve BS 19 zurückschieben. Anschliessend ARK in richtiger Einbau-
richtung zwischen die Schläuche montieren. Zur Erleichterung der Montage
(z.B. bei Anschluss M 30 x 1,5 L ) kann die ARK durch Eindrücken der Schiebe-
hülse getrennt werden.
Nach erfolgter Wiedermontage der ARK die Zapfsäule einschalten, danach
Schlauchleitung unter Druck setzen und Dichtigkeitsprüfung durchführen.
Break Sleeve über die ARK schieben und sicher einschnappen lassen.

WIEDERMONTAGE NACH ABRISS
Diese Arbeit darf nur von einem autorisierten Monteur unter Berücksichtigung aller
relevanten nationalen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen durchgeführt werden.
(1) Zapfsäulenpumpe abstellen. Zapfsäule, Schlauchleitung und Zapfventil auf
Beschädigungen untersuchen. Wiedermontage kann unter Druck erfolgen.
(2) Break Sleeve BS 19 über Ausreißteil und Schlaucharmatur zurückschieben.
(3) ARK 19 Kupplungsteile säubern. Bei Schäden ( z.B. der O-Ring Dichtfläche des
Ausreißteils, Deformationen, gebrochenen Kunststoffteilen, beschädigtem Zug-
seil ) muss die ARK ausgetauscht werden. Außer dem sichtbaren O-Ring
EO 146 LT sind keine Einzelteile lieferbar. Gehäuse und Ausreißteil dürfen nicht
einzeln ersetzt oder ausgetauscht werden.
(4) Im Gehäuse den O-Ring dünn einfetten.
(5) Schiebehülse im Gehäuse zurückschieben und halten.
(6) Ausreißteil in das Gehäuse einführen.
(7) Schiebehülse loslassen – sie bleibt in der Position. Ausreißteil zügig bis zum
Anschlag einstecken; die Schiebehülse schnappt nach vorn. Kupplung auf
Dichtigkeit prüfen.
(8) Break Sleeve BS 19 wieder über ARK schieben und einschnappen lassen.
(9) Zapfsäule einschalten.
ARK 19 entspricht EN 14678-1. TÜV-Zulassung Nr. TÜV. A. 367-16

Reusable Break-Away Coupling for Autogas Hoses
ELAFLEX ARK
is a break-away coupling designed to seal off the outflow of
LPG in the event of a drive-off incident. As a 'Hose Break' it is mounted in bet
-
ween the short connection hose and the long Autogas hose and fixed with the
lanyard to the dispenser or to a fixing point (e.g. stanchion). The fixation shall
be designed for a higher strain than the max. separation force of the
ARK.
Before delivery each
ARK is tested regarding the break-off and tightness under
pressure. This is documented by the factory date.
When the Autogas hose is pulled with a force of 200 – 500N, the coupling se
-
parates, independently of the inner pressure. Integrated valves on both sides
immediately stop the flow; only approximately 9 cm
3LPG will flow out.

helps to avoid tampering and protects the break-
away part against damage of the sealing surfaces.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The assembly to the dispenser must only be done by an authorised service en
-
gineer who is trained to ensure compliance with all relevant national regulatory
conditions. It must be safeguarded that the short connection hose and the la
-
nyard are fixed in such a way that the coupling can separate in any possible
drive-away direction.

back. Fasten ARK in correct assembly direction
between the hoses. To ease the assembly ( e.g. for M 30 x 1,5 L fittings) the
coupling may be separated by pushing in the sliding sleeve.
After reassembly of the ARK switch on the pump and check the system for
tightness.
Then push the break sleeve over the ARK until it latches.

REASSEMBLY AFTER SEPARATION
This work must only be done by an authorised service engineer who is trained to
ensure compliance with all relevant national regulatory conditions.
(1) Switch off pump. Check for damages of dispenser, hose and nozzle.
The reassembly can take place under pressure.
(2) Push break sleeve
BS 19 back over the break-away part and hose fitting.
(3) Clean all ARK 19 parts and check them for damages like damaged sealing
surface of the break-away part, deformations, broken plastic parts or damaged
lanyard. With such damage the coupling must be exchanged. Except for the
visible O-ring EO 146 LT no spare parts are supplied. The body and break-away
part shall not be separately replaced or substituted.
(4) Slightly lubricate the O-ring within the body.
(5) Push back the sliding sleeve of the body and hold it.
(6) Fit the break-away part into the body.
(7) Release the sliding sleeve – it remains in its position. Now push in firmly the
break-away part until the limit. The sliding sleeve will snap back. Check the
coupling for tightness.
(8) Push break sleeve
BS 19 over the ARK and let it snap in.
(9) Switch on pump.
