About Installation, Cleaning
and Maintenance
• It is mandatory that all operations required for the
installationarecarriedoutbyaqualifiedorcompetent
person, in accordance with existing rules and
regulations.
• This appliance is not connected to a combustion
productsevacuationdevice.Itmustbeinstalledand
connected in accordance with current installation
regulations.Particularattentionshallbegiventothe
relevantrequirementsregardingventilation.
• Ensure a good ventilation around the appliance. A
poor air supply could cause lack of oxygen.
• Ensurethatthegassupplycomplieswiththegastype
statedontheidentificationlabel,placednearthegas
supplypipe.
•Usingagascookingappliancewillproduceheat
and moisture in the room which it has been
installed in. Ensure a continuous air supply,
keeping the air vents in good conditions or
installing a cooker hood with discharge tube.
•In case of intensive or long time use of the
appliance,maketheventilationmoreefficient,by
opening a window or increasing the electric
exhaust fan power.
• Onceyouremovedallpackagingfromtheappliance,
ensure that it is not damaged. Otherwise, contact
yourdealerbeforeproceedingwiththeinstallation.
• The manufacturer disclaims any responsability

During Operation
• It is most important that this instruction book should
be retained with the appliance for future reference.
Should the appliance be sold or transferred, always

Once the hob has been installed, it is
important to remove any protective materials,
which were put on in the factory.
Hob burners control knobs
The hob burners control knobs are situated on the hob
right hand side. The symbols on the knobs mean that:
 there is no gas supply
there is maximum gas supply
there is minimum gas supply
Lighting the burners
For easier lighting, proceed before putting a
pan on the pan support.
Tolighta burner:
1. turnthe relevantknobanticlockwisetomaximumpo-
sition ( ) and push down the knob to ignite.
2. Afterlighting theflame, keep theknob pushed down
forabout5seconds.Thiswillallowthe"thermocouple"
(Fig. 1, lett. D) to be heated and the safety device to
be switched off, otherwise the gas supply would be
interrupted.
3. Then, check the flame is regular and adjust it as
required.
If you cannot light the flame even after several
attempts, check the "cap" (Fig. 1, lett. A) and the
"crown"(Fig.1, lett. B)areinthecorrectposition.
Toputtheflameout,turntheknobtothe"off"position
(symbol ).
Do not keep the control knob pressed for more
than 15 seconds.
Ifthe burner does not light even after15 seconds,
release the control knob, turn it the "off" position
and wait for at least one minute before trying to
light the burner again.
Ifthe burner accidentally goesout, turn the control
knob to the "off" position and wait for at least 1
minute before trying to light the burner again.
• Always turn the flame down or put it out before
taking the pans off the burner.
In the absence of electricity, ignition can occur without
the electrical device; in this case approach the burner
withaflame,pushthe relevant knob down andturnitanti-
clockwise until it reaches the "maximum" position.
When switching on the mains, after installation or
a power cut, it is quite normal for the spark
generator to be activated automatically.

Using the hob correctly
To ensure maximum burner efficiency, it is strongly
recommended that you use only pots and pans with a
bottomfittingthesizeoftheburnerused,sothatflame
willnotspreadbeyondthebottomofthevessel(seethe
tablebesideandFig.2). Itisalsoadvisable,assoonas
aliquidstartsboiling,toturndowntheflamesothatitwill
barelykeep theliquid simmering.
Use only pans or pots with flat bottom.
Pots must not enter the control zone.
Carefully supervise cookings with fats or il,
since these types of foodstuff can result in a
fire, if over-heated.
Prolonged cooking with potstones,
earthenware pans or cast-iron plates is
inadvisable. Also, do not use aluminium foil
to protect the top during use.
Makesurepotsdonotprotrudeovertheedgesof
thecooktopandthattheyarecentrallypositioned
on the rings in order to obtain lower gas
consumption.
Do not place unstable or deformed pots on the
rings: they could tip over or spill their contents,
causing accidents.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Disconnect the appliance from the electrical
supply, before carrying out any cleaning or
manteinance work.
The hob is best cleaned whilst it is still warm,
as spillage can be removed more easily than
if it is left to cool.
This appliance cannot be cleaned with steam
or with a steam cleaning machine.
General cleaning
Wash the enamelled components with warm soapy
water.Never useabrasive cleaners
Frequently wash the "caps" and the "crowns" with hot
soapy water, carefully taking away any built-up of food.
Regularly wipe over the hob top using a soft cloth weel
wrungoutinwarmwatertowhichalittleliquiddetergent
hasbeenadded. Avoidtheuseofthefollowing:
-householddetergentandbleaches;
-impregnatedpadsunsuitablefornon-sticksaucepans;
- steel wool pads;
-bath/sinkstain removers.
Should the hob top become heavily soiled, it is
recommendedthataproper cleaning product isused.
The Pan supports
The pan supports can be removed from the hob to allow
a better cleaning.
If the marks are particularly difficult to remove, use
common non-abrasive cleaners or specific products.
Never use steel wool pads or acids.
After cleaning, make sure that the pan supports are
correctly positioned.
Pay attention when replacing the pan
supports in order to avoid damaging the hob
top.
Avoid placing the cast iron pan support on the
hob surface in order to avoid damaging or
scratching it.
The Burners
Theburnercapsandcrownscanberemovedforcleaning.
Washtheburner capsandcrownsusinghotsoapywater,
and remove marks with a mild paste cleaner. A well
moistenedsoap impregnatedsteelwoolpadcanbeused
withcaution,ifthemarksareparticularlydifficulttoremove.
After cleaning, be sure to wipe dry with a soft cloth.
Periodic Maintenance
Periodically ask your local Service Centre to check the
conditions of the gas supply pipe and the pressure
adjuster, if fitted.

Theapplianceis arranged tooperateon a 230 Vsingle-
phase power supply. Connection must be made in
compliancewithcurrent standards andregulations.
Beforecarrying out theconnection, make sure:
1) the limiter valve and the electrical system can
take the appliance load (refer to the serial no.
plate);
2) the supply system is equipped with an efficient
earth connection in compliance with current
standards;
3) the socket or omnipolar switch used are easily
accessible with the appliance installed.
Fitthecablewithaplugsuitable for the load and connect
it to a suitable safety socket.
To connect directly to the mains, a suitable omnipolar
switchwith contact gapof at least3 mm complying with
current standards must be installed between the
applianceandthe network.
The yellow/green earth wire must not be interrupted by
the switch.
The brown phase wire (coming from terminal “L” on the
terminalblock) must always be connected to thepower
supplyphase wire.
Inany case thepowercable must bepositioned in such
a way that no part of it reaches a temperature of more
than90°C.
An example of an optimum path is given in Fig. 4. The
cable is guided by means of clamps fixed to the side of
the cabinet, in order to avoid any contact with the
equipmentbeneaththe cooktop.
REPLACINGTHE POWER CABLE
When replacing the power cable only use H05V2V2-F
T90typecables suitable for the loadandoperatingtem-
perature. Also, the yellow/green earth wire must be
approx. 2 cm longer than the phase and neutral wires
(Fig.5).
Afterconnection,testtheheatingelementsby operating
them for about 3 minutes.

Gas connection
Choose fixed connections or use a flexible pipe in
stainlesssteelincompliancewiththeregulationinforce.
If using flexible metallic pipes, be careful they do not
come in contact with mobile parts or they are not
squeezed. Use the same attention when the hob is
combinatedwithanoven.
IMPORTANT - Toensure a correct operation,a saving
of energy and the long-life of the appliance, the voltage
pressure of the appliance must correspond to the
recommendedvalues.
Theadjustableconnectionisfixedtothecomprehensive
ramp by means of a threaded nut G 1/2". Interpose the
sealing between the components as shown in Fig. 4.
Screwthepartswithoutforcing, adjust the connection in
therequireddirectionandtighten everything.
IMPORTANT - When the final connection has
been made, it is essential that a thorough leak
test is carried out on the hob and installation.
Use some soapy water, never a flame.

Injectors replacement
• Removethepansupports.
• Removetheburner'scapsandcrowns.
• With a socket spanner 7 unscrew and remove the
injectors (Fig. 7), and replace them with the ones
required for the type of gas in use (see table 2).
• Reassembletheparts,followingthesameprocedu-
rebackwards.
• Replacetheratinglabel(placednearthegassupply
pipe)withthe relevant one for thenewtypeof gas
supply.Youcanfindthislabelinthepackageofthe
injectorssuppliedwith the appliance.
Should the feeding gas pressure be different or variable
compared with the required pressure, an appropriate
pressure adjuster must be fitted on the gas supply pipe,
in compliance with the rules in force.
Adjustment of minimum level
Toadjust theminimum level of the burners,proceed as
follows:
• Lighttheburner.
• Turn the knob on the minimum position.
• Removetheknob.
• With a thin screwdriver, adjust the by-pass screw
(see Fig. 8). If changing from natural gas to liquid
gas, completely tighten clockwise the screw, until
asmallregularflameisobtained.Ifchangingfrom
liquidgastonaturalgasunscrewabout3/4turnthe
by-passscrew,untilasmallregularflameisobtained.
• Finally check the flame does not go out when
quicklyturningtheknobfromthemaximumposition
to the minimum position.
Thisprocedurecaneasilybecarriedout,anyhowthehob
has been positioned or built in the working top.

Fitting the hob to the worktop
Thehobcan be installedina kitchen unit withanopening
for insertion whose dimensions are shown in Fig. 11. To
install the hob, proceed as follows:
1) Place the seals supplied with the hob all around the
edge of the cut out, taking care that the sealings
meet without overlapping.
2) Place the hob in the cut out, taking care that it is
centred.
3) Fix the hob with the relevant screws (Fig. 10). The
tractionof thescrews is able to tracethe sealing,any
excess of which can be easily removed.
The edge of the hob forms a double labyrinth seal which
provides a total guarantee against infiltration of liquids.
This hob can be inserted in a built-in kitchen unit whose
depthis between 550 and 600mm. The hobdimensions
are shown in figure 9.
The edge of the cut out must have a minimum distance
from the rear wall of 55 mm.
If there are side walls, or sides of the furniture unit near
the hob, the cut out edges must have a minimum
distance of 100 mm.

Proper arrangements must be taken in
designing the furniture unit, in order to avoid
any contact with the bottom of the hob which
can be heated when it is operated. The
recommended solution is shown in Fig. 12.
Thepanelfitted under thehobshould be easily
removable to allow an easy access if a
technical assistance intervention is needed.
Kitchen unit with oven
The hob recess dimensions must comply the
indication given in Fig. 11 and must be
provided with brackets to allow a continuous
supply of air.
To avoid overhating, the building in should be
carried out as shown in Figs. 13 and 14.
The hob electric connection and the oven one
must be carried out separately, both for safety
reasons and to allow the oven to be easily
taken off the unit.
Hanging furniture units or hoods must be
placedat650 mm. minimumfromthe hob (Fig.
11).
In case a hood with lenght of 600 mm. is fitted
overthehob,the hanging furniture units beside
thehood must beplaced at 550mm. minimum
fromthe hob, to allowthe fitting and thecorrect
use of the lid, if required.
