.Ceramicglassisinsensitivetotemperatureshock
and veryrobust, however,itisnotunbreakable.
Hardandsharpobjects,inparticular,candamage
the cooking surfaceif theyfall on it.
.Donotusecastironpotsorpanswithdamaged
basesthatarerough orburred.Scratching may
occurwhen the pansareslid.
.Donotplaceanypansonthehobframe.Scrat-
ching mayoccurorthe paintdamaged.
.Ensurethatliquidscontainingacids,e.g.vinegar,
lemon limescaleremoving agentsdo notcome
intocontactwiththe hob frame,otherwisematt
spotswill appear.
.Ifsugaroradishcontainingsugarcomesintocon-
tactwith a hotcooking zone and then melts,re-
movethe soiling immediatelywhilststill warm,
using a glass scraper. If itcools,damage tothe
surfacemayoccur.
.Keepallitemsandmaterialsthatmeltawayfrom
the ceramicglass surface,e.g.plastics,alumi-
niumfoil oroven foils. If something of thisnature
shouldmeltontothe ceramicglass surface,it
mustberemovedimmediatelyusingaglassscra-
per.

All partsof the packaging can be recycled and
hardfoampartsare appropriatelymarked.

agents, theymaydamage the ceramicglass and
hob frame.

Operating Instructions
General information
The cooking surfaceismade ofproven ceramicglass.
and consistsof4cooking zones.The rapid glowing
cooking zonesare especiallyefficientradiantheating
elementswhichwill considerablyreducethe duration
ofheating--up.
The cooking surfaceisinsensitivetorapidchan-
gesintemperature.Pots cantherefore bemoved
froma hot tocoldzone.
When switchingonacooking zone you mayhear
ashortbuzz.Thatisacharacteristicofall ceramic
glasscookingzonesanddoesnotimpairthefunc-
tion orthe lifetime of the appliance.
Always putpotsand pansontothe cooking zone
beforeswitching on.
HeatControlKnobs
The controlknobsregulatethe heating capacityof the
cooking zones.
The controlknobsforthe cooking zone can be turned
tothe left and tothe right tothe desired position.
1=minimumsetting
12 =maximumsetting.
Setting itback to„O“turnsoff the cooking zone.
Always putpansorpotson the cooking zones,before
switching on.
Residualheatindicator
Eachcookingzoneisrelatedtooneindicator.Thewar-
ning lamplightsup whenthe surfaceof thecorrespon-
ding cooking zone reachesatemperaturewhichcould
cause burns.
Thislightremainslitafterthe relevantzone hasbeen
switched off aslong asthe residualheatof the corres-
pondingcookingsurfacecancauseburns.Thelightwill
go outwhen the temperaturefallsbelow60 oC.

Cooking and frying utensils
Thebetterthepotorthepan,thebettertheboiling
orfrying result.
.Youcanrecognisegoodqualitypansbytheir
base.Thebaseshouldbethickandasflataspos-
sible.
.Roughbases(i.e.burrsandsharpedges)will
scratchthe ceramicglass surface.
.Utensilswithaluminiumandcopperbasescan
leave behind metallicdiscolourationswhichcan
onlybe removed with difficultyorsometimesnot
atall.
.Saucepansandfryingpansshouldnotbesmaller
than the cooking zone,and preferablynotmore
than 10--15 mm largerthan the diameterof the
cooking zone.
.Whencold,panbasesnormallycurveslightly
inwards(areconcave). In no caseshouldthey
curve outwards(be convex).
.Whenbuyingnewpotsorpanspayattentionto
the base diameter.Manufacturersoften statethe
upperdiameterof the edge ofa dish.
.Ifyouareusingspecialcookingutensilslikepres-
surecookersoraWOK,followthemanufacturer’s
instructions.
.Followanyguidelinesprovidedbythesaucepan
manufacturer.Ensuretheyarerecommendedfor
use on ceramichobs.
Generalhints
.Thebasesshouldalways becleananddry.
.Toavoidscratchingordamagingtheceramic
glasssurface,potsandpans shouldbe movedon
the hob bylifting them,and notby sliding.
.Scratchescanalsobecausedbygrainsofsand
(e.g.originating fromthe previouswashing of
vegetables),drawnoverthecooking surfacewith
the pan,orbyburrsand the rimsofpan bases.
.Usehighsidedpansfordisheswithalotofliquid,
sothatnothing boilsover.
Energy consumption
Tosave energy,you should:
.placepotsandpansinpositionbeforeswitching
on the cooking zone.
.useonlycookingandfryingutensilswithsmooth,
flatbases.

.neverplacepotsorpansoncookingzoneswith

Attention!Cleanersmustnotgetontothehotce-
ramicglass surface!Aftercleaningall residuesof
cleanersmustbe removed withsufficientclean
water,astheymaybe causticwhen being rehea-
ted.
Neveruse aggressive orabrasive agents,such
asoven sprays,stain or rustremovers,scouring
powder,orspongeswith an abrasive effect.
Suitablecleaning materialsare:clean cloth or
household paper,hotwaterwith detergent, suita-
blecommercialcleanersand cleaning scrapers.
Cleaning scrapersand ceramicglass cleaners
areavailablefromtheexperttradeandinmarkets
forbuilding material.
Ceramicglass surface
.Cleantheceramicglass surfaceaftereveryuse
whenitishandwarm orcold.Thiswill avoidspills
becoming burnton.
.Removescaleandwatermarks,fatspotsand
metallicshimmeringdiscolorationwithacommer-
cialceramicglass cleanersuch asVitroclen.
Lightsoilage
.Wipetheceramicglasssurfacewithadampcloth,
and a littlewashing up liquid.
.Thenrubdrywithacleancloth.Noresiduesof
cleaner mustbe left on the surface.
.Onceaweek,throroughlycleantheentirecera-
micglass surfacewith a commercialceramic
glass cleanersuch as“Vitroclen”.Always ensure
that the hob isdryaftercleaning.
Stubbornsoilage
.Toremovefoodthathasboiledoverorburnton
spots,useaglass scraper.
.Placetheglassscraperatanangletotheceramic
glass surface.Removesoilingbyslidingthescra-
per.

Specialsoilage
Sugar
.Removeburnt--onsugar,meltedplastics,alumi-
numfoilimmedeiately-- whentheyarestill warm
-- using a glass scraper,otherwise damage may
be caused.
Warning!Whenusingthecleaningscraperonthe
warm cooking zone careshould be taken.
.Afterwardscleanthecookingsurfacenormally.
If the cooking zone and melted materialhas coo-
led down,reheat the cooking zone gentlyto aid
the cleaning process.
Dark spots,decordamages
If aggressivecleanersorpanswith abrasive ba-
sesareused, thenthe decorwill takeon anabra-
ded appearence and dark spotswill appearover
time.
Thesemarks cannotbe removed.However, they
do impairthe fuctionabilityof the hob.

Scratches inthe ceramicglass surface
Scratchesinthe ceramicglass surfaceresulting
fromburrson a pan base orsand grains cannot
be removed.
However, theydo notimpairthe function of the
hob.
Thehob frame
Donotallowvinegar,lemonsorscaleremoversto
comeintocontactwiththe hob frame,matt spots
will appear.
.Cleanthehobframewithwaterandalittlewas-
hing up liquid.
.Softendrieddirtwithawetcloth.Thenwipeoff
and rub dry.

This appliance mustbeinstalledand connec-
ted by a qualifiedelectrician orcompetent
person.Please observe thisinstruction,
otherwise thewarrantywill notcoveranyda-
magewhichmay occur.
Duringtheinstallationandincaseofaservicefai-
lurethe appliancemustnotbe connected tothe
mains.
The generalrulesforthe operation ofelectricap-
pliances, the provisionsbythe competentelectri-
city supplyboard and the specificationsof these
instructionsforinstallation haveto be strictlyad-
hered to.
Building intothe kitchenworktop
Electricalsafetyisto be ensured byprofessional
installation.
Protection againstaccidentalcontactaccording
totheregulationssetbyVDEorotherlocalautho-
ritiesmustbe ensured by correctinstallation of
theappliances.Thesamereferstothebackofthe
appliancewhich,even incase ofbuilt--ininstalla-
tionsawayfromthe wall,mustnotbe freely
accessible.
Built--incupboardshaveto be located and faste-
ned in a waythat theyarestable.
.Notedownthedatafromtheratingplateofyour
applianceinthe printed rating plateform inthis
manual.These numbersare needed incase of
servicecalls.
Installation dimensions
The opening inthe cabinetmustcorrespond tothe
standard dimensions.The necessaryinformation can
be found inthe dimensionalsketch.
.Theseparationbetweenthelowersurfaceofthe
hobandthepartsof thefurniturebelowitmustbe
atleast20 mm
.Thelateralseparationbetweenthesidesofthe
hob and the cabinetmustbe atleast50 mm,and
mustbe atleast55 mm fromthe rearpanel.
Withregardtothe protection againstoverheating
ofsurrounding furnituresurfacesthisappliance
correspondstotypeY.Thisapplianceorthebuilt--
incupboardfortheappliancerespectivelymaybe
locatedwiththerearwallandonesidewalltowha-
teverhigh wallsorfurniturerespectivelyand with
the otherside to anotherappliance orfurniture of
the same heightasthisappliance.

.Cutouttheworktopaccordingtothecutoutsize.
The tolerancesmustnotbe exceeded.Precisely
sawat the marked line.
.Withtile--coatedworktopareasanyslitsinthe
surfaceofthecookingareamustbefilledupcom-
pletely.
.Cleantheworktopinthecutoutarea
.Thehobisfittedfromthetopintothecut--outsec-
tion,centered and firmlypressed on until the
springswill catch.
.Check thesealinginthesupportingframeforper-
fectseatingandrestingwithoutagap.Please do
notapplyadditionalsiliconesealing material.
It will makeitharderto dismantleincase ofser-
vice.
.5holesinthebottomofthebuild--incasearepro-
vided forthe screwsof the fitting plates.
.Atfirstscrewonthefittingplateswithascrew-
driverand afterwardstighten the platesalterna-
tivelyand diagonally,until the frame of the cook-
ing area isperfectlylaying on the worktop.
.Over--tighteningmustbeavoided!Electricscrew-
driversareto be exclusivelyused withslipclutch
(setting value 1 -- 1.1Nm).

Electricalconnections
Beforeconnecting the appliance,check that the
voltagequotedon theratingplate-thatis, theno-
minalvoltage of the appliance-correspondsto
the availablemains voltage.The rating platecan
be found on the base of the ceramicglass hob.
.Themainsconnectionmustbecarriedoutbyan
expertelectrician.The VDE-regulationsand the
validregulationsbythe electricity supplyboards
haveto be compiled with.
.Priortoconnectionitshouldbecheckedwhether
the voltage stated on the rating plate-- i.e. the
nominalvoltageoftheappliance-- isidenticalwith
the mains voltage.The rating plateislocated on
the base housing of the hob.
.Theheatingelementvoltageisto230V~.The
appliancewill also perfectlyperform withthe lo-
wer mains voltage of220 V~.
.Themainsconnectionmustbecarriedoutina
waythatan all--poleinsulating deviceisexisting
with a contactopening ofatleast3mm,e.g.LS--
automatism,earth--leakage circuit--breakeror
fuse.
.AwireoftypeH05VV-Forofhigherratingistobe
used as supply cable.
.Themainsterminalislocatedinthebottomofthe
appliance undera plastic cover. It can beopened
using a screwdriver (see picture).
.Subjecttotheexistingmainsvoltage,theap-
pliance hasto be connected as shown opposite.
The links of the terminalblock mustbe changed
accordingly,ifappropriate.
.Theearthconductoristobeconnectedtotermi-
nal.The earthconductor mustbe longerthan
liveleads.
.Thecableconnectionshavetobeconnected
as shownand theterminalscrewsbefirmly
tightened.
.Afterwardsthesupplycablehastobesecuredby
the cableclamp and the cover mustbe fitted by
firmlypressing down until itengages.
Priortofirstuseremove anyexisting labelsand
protectivefilmfromtheceramicglass plate orthe
frame of the hob.
Afterconnecting the electricalsupply,all cooking
zones should be briefly switched on one afterthe
otherat their maximumpower,in ordertotest
whethertheyare operational.

Guarantee Conditions
Standard guarantee conditions
We,Electrolux,undertakethatifwithin 12 monthsof
the date of the purchasethisElectroluxappliance or
anypart thereofisproved to be defective byreason
onlyof faultworkmanship or materials,wewill,atour
option repairor replacethe sameFREE OFCHARGE
forlabour,materialsorcarriage on condition that:
.Theappliancehasbeencorrectlyinstalledandused
onlyon the electricity supply stated on the rating
plate.
.Theappliancehasbeenusedfornormaldomestic
purposesonly,and in accordancewiththe manu-
facturer’sinstructions.
.Theappliancehasnotbeenserviced,maintained
repared, taken apartortampered with anyperson
notauthorised byus.
.Allserviceworkunderthisguaranteemustbe
undertaken byan ElectroluxServiceForceCenter.
.Anyapplianceordefectivepartreplacedshall
becometoCompany’sproperty.
.Thisguaranteeisinadditiontoyourstatutoryand
otherlegalrights.
Homevisitsaremade between 8.30 amand 5.30 pm
MondaytoFriday.Visitsmaybe available outside
these hoursinwhichcase a premiumwill be charged.
Exclusions
Thisguarantee does notcover:
.Damageorcallsresultingfromtransportation,
improperuse orneglect, the replacementofany
lightbulbsor removable partsofglass orplastic.
.Costsincurredforcallstoputrightanappliance
whichisimproperlyinstalled orcallsto appliances
outside the United Kingdom.
.Appliancesfoundtobeinusewithinacommercial
environment,plusthosewhicharesubjectedtoren-
talagreements.
.ProductsofElectroluxmanufacturewhicharenot
marketed byElectrolux.

If you shouldmoveto anothercountrywithinEurope
thenyourguaranteemoveswithyoutoyournewhome
subject tothe following qualifications:
.Theguaranteestartsfromthedateyoufirstpurcha-
sed yourproduct.
.Theguaranteeisforthesameperiodandtothe
same extent forlabourand partsasexistsinthe
newcountryofuseforthisbrand or range ofpro-
ducts.
.Thisguaranteerelatestoyouandcannotbetrans-
ferred to anotheruser.
.YournewhomeiswithintheEuropeancommunity
(EC)orEuropean Free Trade Area.
.Theproductisinstalledandusedinaccordance
with ourinstructionsand isonlyused domestically,
i.e.a normalhousehold.
.Theproductisinstalledtakingintoaccountregula-
tionsinyournewcountry.
