Aluminum Headache Rack

General Guidelines
• It is the user’s responsibility to read and follow all instructions.
• Keep these instructions with the product at all times and review before each use.
• It is the responsibility of this product’s owner to furnish the instructions to any person that borrows
or purchases the product.
• Inspect the product before use to ensure it is assembled properly and all parts are in safe working
order and free of defects.
• Never modify this product in any way.
• All circumstances cannot be addressed in these instructions. Please use common sense and prac-
tice general safety measures when using this product.
• Parts and/or instructions are subject to change without notice.
Safety
• Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and in-
structions may result in serious injury or death. Save all warnings and instructions for future refer-
ence.
• Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles.
• Always wear hearing protection when working in noisy environments. Prolonged exposure to high
intensity noise can cause hearing loss.
• Use safety equipment. Safety shoes, hard hat and work gloves must be used for applicable condi-
tions.
• Dress appropriately. Never wear loose tting clothing or jewelry when working. Contain long hair,
and keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.
• Use common sense when working. Stay alert and concentrate when setting up and using the Alu-
minum Headache Rack. Never work while under the inuence of alcohol, drugs or medications.
• While assembling and using the Aluminum Headache Rack, keep work area clean and well lit.
Keep spectators and children out of the work area.
• SAVE THIS MANUAL: Keep this manual for the safety warnings and precautions. The manual
offers important information on how to assemble, use and maintain this product. Write the product’s
model number and purchase date on the cover page of this manual. Keep this manual (and your
purchase receipt) in a safe place.

Use of the Aluminum Headache Rack
• This Rack is designed to be set up behind the truck’s rear window to protect the window from the
impact of shifting cargo. Its upper frame has extension uprights for use in safely hauling long cargo
such as ladders and pipes. This rack ts most truck beds. Do not modify this Rack, and do not use
this product for purposes that it was not designed for.
• Never use this Rack to secure people or animals in the truck bed. Do not climb on, or hang on this
Rack while vehicle is moving. Keep children and spectators well clear when setting up and using
this product.
• Adhere to all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements when using this product. Use
ropes and tie downs to secure any cargo that is resting on the upper frame extension uprights.
• For the vehicle that the Aluminum Headache Rack is attached to, read all pertinent vehicle instruc-
tions and warnings provided in the owner’s manual. Make sure the vehicle’s engine is OFF, with
parking brake set, before setting up this product, and when loading and unloading cargo on the
upper frame extension uprights.
• Loads can shift in transit. During transit, periodically stop and check the contents of the load. Make
sure that all cargo in the truck bed is tightly secured.
Specications
• Width Adjustment: Extends from 62” to 74” wide
• Application: Protects rear window from impact of shifting cargo. Bolt on installation for trucks with
stake pockets.
Unpacking
The shipment should be thoroughly inspected as soon as it is received. The signed “bill of lading” is
acknowledgment by the carrier of receipt in good condition or shipment covered by our invoice. For
your own protection, if any of the goods called for on the bill of lading are shorted or damaged, do not
accept them until the carrier makes a notation on the freight bill of the shorted or damaged goods.
Maintaining the Rack
Frequently check the condition of this rack. Make sure that all components are in good condition and
are clean. Check to make sure that all hardware is tightly secured in place. If this product becomes
damaged through use, it should be replaced. Replacement parts are not offered.

Setting Up the Aluminum Headache Rack
Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles.
1. Insert the right xed seat (2) and the left xed seat (3) into the frame (1). Install the M12x30 out-
er hexagonal bolt full thread (6), 12 spring washer (7), and 12 large at washer (8), tting the bolt
through the long hole of the frame into the xed seat threaded holes. Repeat with all 4 bolts according
to the same steps. Note: Do not tighten all bolts at rst. See Figure 1:
2. Place the rack assembly on the pickup truck, adjusting the width and aligning the holes in the xed
seats with the stake pockets. Securely tighten the four M12x30 outer hexagonal bolts full thread (6)
at the appropriate width. Install the M12x75 outer hexagonal bolt full thread (9),12 spring washer (7),
and 12 large at washer (8), tting the bolt through the long hole in the xed seat and the stake pock-
et on the pickup rack, screwing it into the U-type mounted plate (4) underneath. Repeat on the other
side, tightening securely. See Figure 2:

3. For the second, smaller hole, drilling is required to reinforce the rack. Use an electric hand drill to
drill a hole that aligns with second smaller hole. Install the M12x75 external hexagonal bolt full thread
(9), 12 spring washer (7), and 12 large at washer (8), tting the bolt through the small hole in the
xed seat and the drilled hole in the pickup, screwing it into the at panel mounting plate (5). Repeat
on the other side, tightening securely. See Figure 3:

Product Warranty and Liability
GENERAL PRODUCT WARRANTY: Products purchased from the Authorized Dealer (original place
of purchase) or Merchant (“Dealer”) will be free of defects in material and workmanship at the time of
receipt, and will meet the specications stated at the place of purchase transaction or online at the
Dealer’s website, under normal use and service when correctly installed, operated and maintained.
This product warranty is effective for the period of time stated below, unless otherwise stated in the
product instructions or depicted in the product advertisement. All Authorized Dealer warranties are
NON-TRANSFERABLE and cover only the original end purchaser. This limited warranty does not
cover products purchased through non-authorized dealers. Non-authorized dealer receipts are not
accepted for warranty verication.

WARRANTY PERIOD: This warranty remains in force for one year from the date of the product’s
accepted delivery. The Authorized Dealer offers a one year manufacturer’s warranty for most products
unless otherwise specied on the product advertisement.
WARRANTY SERVICE: The Authorized Dealer will replace any defective or malfunctioning part at
no charge, including payment of the shipping costs of parts or replacement product to and from the
manufacturer. The purchaser is responsible for labor charges. If the product does not meet specica-
tions as depicted in the advertisement, the Authorized Dealer will refund the full purchase price of the
product.
Questions regarding the warranty on a specic product and warranty claims should be directed to the
Authorized Dealer with whom the purchase transaction was made.
WARRANTY LIMITATIONS: The above warranty does not apply to products that are repaired, modi-
ed or altered by any party other than the Authorized Dealer; are subjected to unusual physical stress
or conditions (such as overloaded ramps or corrosion), natural disaster, governmental actions, wars,
strikes, labor disputes, riots, theft, vandalism, terrorism or any reason beyond reasonable control; are
damaged due to improper installation, misuse, abuse, accident or negligence in use, storage, trans-
portation or handling, or tampering; or to products that are considered consumable items or items
requiring repair or replacement due to normal wear and tear.
Product should be inspected prior to signing for delivery. Product damage incurred during shipping,
unless noted on the Bill of Lading at the time of delivery, renders this warranty void.
LIMITED LIABILITY: In no event shall THE AUTHORIZED DEALER be liable to the purchaser or any
third party for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages arising
out of the use of the product, including, without limitation, property damage, loss of value of the prod-
uct or any third party products that are used in or with the product, or loss of use of the product or any
third party products that are used in or with the product.
