Freezer compartment
The freezer compartment can keep food fresh for a long time and is suitable for storing meat, fish, ice cream and other
food that is not intended to be consumed in the short term.

Before first use
Prepare the fridge freezer for the first use before plugging it in and storing food.

12 Getting started - ENGLISH
1. Make sure the fridge freezer is unpacked and placed properly.
2. Leave the fridge freezer to stand for at least 4hours before plugging it in.
3. Plug in the power cord.

Getting started - ENGLISH 13
4. Let the fridge freezer run empty for at least 2 hours on low temperature settings.
Your fridge freezer is now ready for use.
NOTE! The recommend temperature level is 5.5-6 which leads to about 4 °C in the refrigerator.
NOTE!
Storing too much food when your fridge freezer is first turned on may affect the refrigerating performance
negatively.

14 Using your fridge freezer - ENGLISH
USING YOUR FRIDGE FREEZER
Turn on and turn off the fridge freezer
Turn on the fridge freezer
1. Plug in the fridge freezer.
2. Open the fridge door.
3. Turn the temperature selector knob to the preferred temperature level (1to 7).

Using your fridge freezer - ENGLISH 15
Turn off the fridge freezer
1. To turn off the fridge freezer, do one of the following:
• Turn the temperature selector knob to 0.
• Unplug the fridge freezer.
Settings and modes
Change the temperature
Set the temperature level for both the refrigerator and freezer compartment.
CAUTION!
• A high temperature setting will accelerate food waste.
• A lower temperature setting than necessary wastes energy.
• For optimum food preservation, a medium setting is the most suitable.
• Cold temperature level setting (6 or 7) during high ambient temperatures may cause the compressor to
run continuously or non-stop to maintain the low temperature in the fridge freezer.

16 Using your fridge freezer - ENGLISH
1. Open the fridge door.
2. Turn the temperature selector knob to select a temperature level (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - the higher the number, the colder
the temperature).
NOTE! The recommended temperature level for normal use is 5.5 - 6 which leads to about 4 °C in the fridge and
-18 °C in the freezer.
CAUTION! Use temperature level 7 only for short periods of time. It may be used if food is in need of fast
cooling. Level 7 is the coldest temperature level and leads to minus degrees in the fridge.
NOTE!
• For optimum food preservation, a medium setting is the most suitable.
• Temperatures inside each compartment may vary, depending on how much food is stored and where
the food is placed. High or low room temperature may also affect the actual temperature inside the
refrigerator.
Storing food
Store food in the refrigerator
WARNING!
Do not overload the shelves, door racks or put too much food in the drawers to avoid items falling and
causing injury or damage to the fridge freezer.

Using your fridge freezer - ENGLISH 17
CAUTION!
• Always follow food storage times and expiration dates suggested by manufacturers.
• Opening the door for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the
compartments.
• Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the refrigerator, so that it is not in contact with or drip
onto other food.
CAUTION!
Do not close the door while any shelves are extended or drawers are open. It may damage the shelves,
drawers and door.
NOTE!
To avoid wasting energy:
• Do not store warm food or evaporating liquid in the fridge freezer. Placing hot food directly into the
refrigerator or freezer causes the internal temperature to rise resulting in the compressor having to work
harder and therefore consume more energy.
• Do not keep the doors open for longer periods.
Use the following tips and recommendations when storing food in the refrigerator.
When refrigerating fresh food:
• Cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour.
• Place the food so that air can circulate freely around it.
Other refrigerating recommendations:
Food Recommendation
Meat (all types) Wrap in polythene and place on the glass shelf above the
drawer for fruit and vegetables
Cooked food, cold dishes etc. Cover and place on any shelf
Fruit and vegetables Store in the drawer for fruit and vegetables
Butter and cheese Wrap in airtight foil or plastic film wrap
Milk bottles, other bottled drinks, and canned liquids Ensure bottles have a lid and store in the door racks
Eggs and packed foods Store in the door racks, put eggs in the egg holder
Store food in the freezer
WARNING!
• Do not place food or containers in the freezer compartment with wet hands when the fridge freezer is
running, especially metal containers, to avoid the risk of skin abrasions and ice burns.
• Do not consume frozen food, such as ice popsicles and ice cubes, straight from the freezer. This may
cause ice burns.
CAUTION!
• Always follow food storage times and use by dates suggested by manufacturers.
• Opening the door for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the
compartments.
• Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the refrigerator, so that it is not in contact with or drip
onto other food.
• Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the freezer compartment as it creates pressure in the
container, which may cause it to explode and damage the product.
• Make sure that bottles are not left in the freezer for longer than needed. Freezing may cause the bottles
to break.

18 Using your fridge freezer - ENGLISH
CAUTION!
Do not close the door while any drawers are open. It may damage the drawers and the door.
Use the following tips and recommendations when storing food in the freezer.
• Prepare food in small portions to enable it to be rapidly and completely frozen and in turn make it possible to thaw
only the quantity required. Once defrosted, food will deteriorate rapidly and should not be frozen again.
• Wrap up the food in aluminum foil or polyethylene food wraps which are airtight.
• Label and date each frozen package in order to keep track of the storage time.
• Do not allow fresh unfrozen food to touch the food which is already frozen to avoid temperature rise of the latter.
• Ensure that frozen food has been stored correctly by the food retailer.

Cleaning and maintenance - ENGLISH 19
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Clean the exterior
Clean the exterior every two months. This will help maintain a good appearance of the fridge freezer.
WARNING!
• Unplug the fridge freezer before cleaning. There is a risk of electric shock.
• Do not use metal objects, sharp objects, steam cleaner, thinner, car detergent, clorox, ethereal oil,
abrasive cleansers or organic solvent such as benzene for cleaning. They may damage the surface of the
product and may cause fire.
CAUTION!
• Regularly clean surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems.
1. Unplug the fridge freezer.
2. Clean the doors, handles and cabinet surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with, for example, mild detergent.
Spray water onto the cleaning cloth instead of spraying directly on the surface of the fridge
freezer. This helps ensure an even distribution of moisture on the surface.

20 Cleaning and maintenance - ENGLISH
3. Wipe the doors, handles and cabinet surfaces dry with a soft cloth.
Clean the interior
Clean the interior every two months. It will be easier to clean when food stocks are low.
