SAFETY MEASURES
Do not insert any objects or obstruct the air inlets and outlets. The high speed internal rotor could cause damage or injury.
In the event of any unusual activity, such as a burning smell, turn o the manual power switch immediately and contact a
authorised service technician.
When the unit needs to be repaired, removed or re-installed contact an authorised service technician.
Do not install the unit where there is potential for combustable gas leaks as it may cause a fire.
Confirm the installation base is strong enough to support the unit prior to install. If the base is not strong enough over
the long term it could cause device failure or injury.
Turn the power o before cleaning the unit.

This appliance must be installed, commissioned, and serviced by
an authorised technician in accordance with these instructions.
This unit requires reliable earthing and connection before use.
In areas vulnerable to lightening strikes lightning protection
measures must be carried out.
This unit is not suitable for use in cold winters. Water reserved in
the pipe system must be drained.

INSTALLATION CHECK
1. Confirm the model, number, name etc to avoid incorrect
installation.
2. Ensure there is enough space for installation and maintenance.
3. Dry, well ventilated location, without obstructions to the air inlet
and outlet.
4. The installation surface is suitable to avoid electric shocks.
5. The power supply and and wire diameter capacity are in
accordance with the electrical installation requirements.
6. Electrical work must be insulated and compliant with electrical
technical standards.
7. The unit must be powered for 3-4 hours before use.
INSTALLATION SPACE
1. Check space for maintenance before installation.
2. There are no obstacles within 1 meter of the front of the heat pump.
3. The space beside the water pipe can be increased if required.
HOISTING HEAT PUMP
1. Use four or more soft lifting belts to lift the heat pump.
2. Avoid scratches and damage to the surface of the unit by using
the protective plates when moving.
3. Ensure the foundation is suitable before moving the unit.
4. Consider the drainage channel at the base as the heat pump will
produce condensation water.
5. Ax the shock absorber to the base.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The following instructions and schematics have taken into
account standards AS4324, AS4020, AS1056.1, AS/NZS2712,
AS/NZ3350.240/30/30.2, AS3498 and represents an optimum
installation procedure for this unit to ensure minimum requirements
are met for local regulations.
All our systems are designed for installation by a licensed plumber in
accordance with standards set out in AS/NZS 3500.4 and AS 3000.
Prevent air, dust and other particles from entering the water pipes.
Install the whole system before attaching the water pipes.
Water inlet and outlet pipes should be protected by the insulation.
Ensure stable water velocity to avoid excessive throttling.
When moving only use the holes on the beam of the base.
Do not use the water inlet and outlet pipe for hanging.
(Refer to the Hoisting Heat Pump diagram).

Plumbing Schematics
When connecting the water inlet and outlet pipes use two pipe
wrenches to control the two pipes, and ensure the water inlet and
outlet pipes are not turning around. Refer to diagram below.

TEMPERING VALVE
1. The systems are automatically programmed to produce hot water
in excess of 50°C. As such, in accordance with AS/NZS3500, it is
mandatory that a Tempering Valve is installed.
2. We recommend a high performance, or solar rated tempering valve
is used to ensure a more accurate hot water delivery temperature.
3. Your old hot water system may not have had a tempering valve
installed before and therefore you will notice a change in the
temperature of the hot water. This is normal and required under
new legislation. Should you have any concerns, please contact
your installer.
SELECTION OF THE WATER PIPES

1. The pipe press and flow rate should be calculated before
the diameter selection, the range of pressure drop is
0.3 kgf/cm2- 0.5 kgf/cm2(3m - 5m) the range of head pipe
flow rate is 1.2m/s - 2.5m/s.
2. The hydraulic calculation should be made after the selection of
pipe diameter, if the resistance is more than pump head, then
need to choose a more powerful pump, or choose a bigger pipe.
WATER QUALITY
1. Poor water quality will produce more scale and sand, so this type
of water should be filtered.
2. The water quality should be analyzed before system running, to
measure the PH value, conductivity, Chloride ion concentration
and sulphate ion concentration.
3. Recommended filter meshes is approximately 40 meshes.
4. The acceptable water quality standard is showed as below table.

PLUMBING CONNECTIONS
COLD WATER SUPPLY OUTLET
1. The cold water supply connection is a 20mm female thread.
2. The cold water supply should be connected to a 20mm socket.
3. The cold water supply outlet can also act as a drainage point
for emptying the system.
HOT WATER CONNECTION
1. The hot water supply connection is a 20mm female thread.
2. The hot water supply should be connected to a 20mm socket.
3. To ensure thermal eciency all hot water lines and connections
must be insulated with a minimum 13mm closed cell insulation.
4. All hot water supply parts must be constructed from copper.
CONDENSATION DRAINAGE
1. The process of heat extraction from the atmosphere through
evaporator coils results in the production of water in the form of
condensation. More humid environments will produce higher rates
of condensation.
2. To collect this water by-product a condensation tray is located at
the bottom of the heat pump. Overflow from this tray flows out
through the condensation drain.
3. The system comes with a pre-installed condensation drainage con-
nection elbow. Condensation can be drained to the nearest storm
water via a drainage pipe. If not drained properly, the condensation
will attract termites as well produce algae and moss growth.
4. The condensation line is gravity fed and should run downwards
and be free of kinks to ensure the free flow of water.
TEMPERATURE & PRESSURE RELIEF (TPR) VALVE
1. This system is supplied with a loose TPR valve appropriate to
the pressure rating of the water heater tank. If the TPR valve is
missing please contact your supplier. The valve rated capacity:
850kPa; 10kW; Set temperature: 93 - 99°C.
2. The supplied TPR valve must be installed as per the water tank
schematic Connection Dimensions and Components under the
socket marked "RELIEF VALVE".
3. The TPR valve must be insulated with a minimum 13mm closed
coupled insulation, to minimise heat lost.
4. The TPR valve must be installed so that the drain line is facing
downwards at all times with the discharge point remaining open
to the atmosphere.
5. A discharge pipe connected to the pressure relief device is to be
installed in a continuously downward direction and in a frost-free
environment. Do not connect any pressure-relief device to the
condensation drain pipe. The water may drip from the discharge
pipe of the pressure-relief device. This pipe must be left open to
the atmosphere. The pressure-relief device is to be operated
regularly to remove lime deposits and to ensure it is not blocked.

PRE-CONNECTION AND REGULATIONS
When connecting the unit, electrical work must comply with the local
supply authority regulations as well as AS/NZS 3000.
The power rating of the unit is set at 20 amps as such the mains
power supplying the unit must have a 20 amp minimum circuit
breaker fitted.
NOTE this device is fitted with an over-temperature control cut-out.
Under no circumstances must the water heater be in operation
without this safety device connected to the circuit. Re-setting and
replacement of this device must only be carried out by a qualified
electrical contractor.
(AS/NZS 60335-1 Clause 7.12.2): disconnection must be incorporated
in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.
FUSE: 250V, T3.15A
To ensure eective external grounding the the power supply circuit
unit must have a reliable connection.
Wiring must be conducted by a professional installation
technician in accordance with the circuit diagram.
The power and signal line layout should be neat and not in contact
with each other or the connecting pipe and the valve body.
If this unit does not match the power line and does not allow the
wires to connect please supply specifications as per provisions.
After all wiring is completed, please carefully check it before switch-
ing on the power supply.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by either the
manufacturer, a service agent or similarly qualified person in order
to avoid a hazard.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
CIRCULATION PUMP INSTALLATION
This heat pump includes a built-in circulation pump. You do not need
add an extra circulation pump. However depending on the system
design, and flow rate requirements, you can add an extra pump.

inspection of controller screen.
System is OFF, make sure the system connects
with power supply less than 5 minutes before
operation. Press all 4 buttons simultaneously for
5 seconds to restore the factory default settings.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TURN THE HEAT PUMP ON/OFF
1. When the lock symbol is visible, pressing any button once will
unlock the controller and further illuminate the screen.
2. Press “ ” button for more than 1 second to turn ON/OFF heat pump.
3. When heat pump is o, “ ”does not light up.
4. When the controller is powered on for the first time, it is in the o
state. Then from the 2nd time, the state will be same as last time
before power disconnection.
AUTO/MANUAL WATER TEMPERATURE SETTING MODE
1. Press the “M” button to switch Auto/Manual water temperature
setting.
2. The icon “AUTO” lights up in Auto water temperature setting mode,
the icon “AUTO” turns o in Auto water temperature setting mode.
3. The default setting (F63=0) is the Manual water temperature
mode. The default setting is Auto water temperature mode when
F63 is set from 0 to 1.
4. In the Manual mode, the final water temperature is controlled
according to the manual temperature setting value.
5. In the Automatic mode, the final water temperature is automatically
determined according to the ambient temperature.
TO SET WATER TEMPERATURE SETTING TO 'MANUAL' MODE
1. In manual mode, press button “∧” or “∨” to enter the water
temperature setting.
2. Press the button “∧” or “∨” to increase or decrease the water tem-
perature setting value. Press the button “∧” or “∨” for more than
1 second to quickly increase or decrease the water temperature.
3. Press the button “ ”, or no operation for more than 5 seconds,
and the controller will return to the main interface. When the value
is modified, it will flash for 2 seconds and then return to the normal
display state.
4. Water temperature setting range is determined by dierent gas
and dierent applications:
F04=0 water temperature can be set from 28 - 55°C default 55°C
F04=1 water temperature can be set from 28 - 75°C default 60°C
F04=2 water temperature can be set from 28 - 60°C default 55°C
F04=3 water temperature can be set from 28 - 40°C default 28°C
TO SET WATER TEMPERATURE SETTING TO 'AUTO' MODE
1. In Auto mode the water temperature will automatically be
determined according to the ambient temperature.
Manual setting will not work work.
2. Press the button “ ”, or no operation for more than 5 seconds,
and the controller will return to the main interface.
3. The following guide indicates the relationship between ambient
temperature and water temperature:

CONTROLLER INSTRUCTIONS

REAL TIME CLOCK SETTINGS
1. In the main interface, click the button “ ” to enter the real-time
clock setting interface:
- Press the button “ ” again to enter hour setting
(“HH” zone is flashing)
- Press the button “∧” or “∨” to adjust hour to the real time
- Press the button “ ” again to confirm the hour and enter the
minute setting (“MM” zone is flashing)
- Press the button “∧” or “∨” to adjust minute to the real time
- Press the button “ ” again to confirm the minute
- Press “ ” to confirm time clock setting and return to the main
interface.
2. In the real-time clock setting interface, no button operation for
more than 5 seconds, the current real-time clock setting value
will be confirmed and returned to the main interface.
TIME PERIOD SETTINGS
1. The three default time periods are 09:00-17:00, 00:00-18:00,
00:00-00:00.
2. In the main interface, press the button “ ” for 3 seconds to enter
or exit time period setting.
3. In the time period setting interface, click the button “ ” to switch
the hour and minute of the start time and end time, also click the
button “ ” to switch time period 1, 2 and 3.
4. The value is flashing when switching to the corresponding value
of the time period. Meanwhile the icon “ON” or “OFF” is flashing,
Press "∧” or “∨” to increase or decrease the corresponding value.
Press the button “ ” or no operation in 15 seconds, the setting
will be saved and the controller will return to the main interface.
5. In the time period setting interface, the corresponding icon ON
will be displayed if the corresponding time period is set, the
corresponding icon OFF will be displayed if the corresponding
time period is not set.
6. The system will only work during the time period if it is set.
7. If the start time is same as the end time, it will canceling this timing
period.
8. If all 3 timed periods are canceled, system is allowed to work
anytime.
9. If the start time of time period is later than the end time, the end
time is considered to be the 2nd day.
ELECTRIC HEATER CONTROL
BOOSTER MODE
1. To turn on/o electric heating element Press both buttons“ ”+“
” simultaneously for more than 3 seconds.
2. The electric heating element will heat the water to the set
temperature.
3. The icon " " keeps constantly bright during Booster mode,
also the heat pump will stop running.
ELECTRIC HEATER MODE
1. If the following issues happen, the electric heating element will
be activated if water requires heating:
•High pressure alarm
•Low ambient temperature mode
•High ambient temperature mode
•High gas exhaust temperature alarm
•Gas exhaust temperature sensor failure
•Gas return temperature sensor failure
2. Under manual mode for water temperature setting, the working of
electric heating element is decided by water setting temperature
and dead-band temperature.
3. Under Auto mode for water temperature setting, the working of
electric heating element is decided by water temperature and
ambient temperature, please see following table:

HIGH TEMPERATURE MODE
1. When ambient temperature ≥ 43°C (it can be adjusted by F86), the
heat- pump will stop running. The system will activate the electric
heating element to heat the water instead until the temperature
recovers to the normal range.
2. When ambient temperature ≤ 41°C, the electric heating element
will stop running. The system will activate the heat pump and run in
standard conditions..
3. Under low temperature mode, the working of electric heating
element is decided by water setting temperature and dead-band
temperature.
LOW TEMPERATURE MODE
1. When ambient temperature ≤ -7°C (it can be adjusted by F10), the
heat pump will stop running, also the electric heating element will
start to work if necessary.
2. When ambient temperature is ≥ -5°C the electric heating element
will stop working. The heat pump will run if necessary.
3. Under low temperature mode, the electric heating element starts
or stops working which is decided by water setting temperature
and dead-band temperature.
CONTROLLER INSTRUCTIONS

MANUAL DEFROSTING MODE
1. In the main interface, Press the buttons “M” + “∨” simultaneously for
more than 5 seconds to activate or deactivate the Defrost mode.
2. If the defrosting mode is activated, the icon will be displayed.
Please note defrosting mode will not work if heat pump is in
cooling mode.
QUERY SYSTEM RUNNING STATUS
1. In the main interface, no matter if the system is ON or OFF, press
the button “∧” or “∨” for more than 3 seconds to enter the running
status query interface.
2. Press the button “∧” or “∨” to check each of the following codes.
3. Click the button “ ” or no operation for more than 30 seconds,
the controller will return to the main interface.
4. After entering the view mode, the last viewed code (the default is
“00” after power-on) and its corresponding value are displayed.
5. Click the button “∨” the following code table can be displayed in order:

MANUAL STERILIZATION
1. If the controller is in the normal display state and it is currently
in the heating mode, press the “M”+“∧”+“∨” button at the same
time for more than 5 seconds to activate or deactivate the
“sterilization” function. The " " is flashing under manual
“sterilization” operation.
2. When heat pump is in cooling mode, "sterilization" operation is
not allowed.
CONTROLLER BUTTON LOCK
All buttons will be locked if there is no button operation for more than
60 seconds. Click any button to unlock.
ERROR CODE
1) “E09” is displayed when the communication between the main
board and controller is abnormal, or the data line is not connected
normally.
2) “--:--” is displayed when the valid clock cannot be obtained, and
the communication indicator of the main control board flashes. The

CONTROLLER INSTRUCTIONS

ANTIFREEZE PROTECTION
1. When the controller is on and the ambient temperature is too low
it will enter the antifreeze mode to prevent the circulation line or
the water tank from freezing.
2. When the ambient temperature is ≤ 2°C, the heat pump enters the
first anti-freeze protection. The circulating water pump continuous-
ly stops for more than 30 minutes, then starts for 60 seconds, and
repeats the cycle.
3. When the ambient temperature is ≤ 2°C, and the water tank
temperature is ≤ 5°C, heat pump enters the secondary anti-freeze
protection when the heat pump automatically turns on for heating.
When the ambient temperature ≥ 4°C or the tank temperature is
≥ 15°C, the heat pump stops heating and exits the secondary frost
protection.
LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURE PROTECTION
1. When the ambient temperature is ≤ -9°C, the compressor will not
operate.
2. When the ambient temperature is ≥ -7°C normal operation is
resumed. This protection has no fault display.
WATER TEMPERATURE OVERCOOLS AT COOLING MODE
1. If the compressor is running for 5 minutes in the cooling mode
and the outlet water temperature is < 5°C for 5 consecutive
seconds, the heat pump enters sub cooling protection. The
compressor and the fan will stop running, and the water pump
will operate as normal.
2. When the outlet water temperature is detected to be ≥ 7 °C, the
heat pump exits the sub cooling protection and will operate as
normal.
WATER TEMPERATURE OVERHEAT PROTECTION AT HEATING
MODE
1. If the compressor is running for 5 minutes in the heating mode
and the water temperature is ≥ 65°C for 5 consecutive seconds,
it is judged that the outlet water temperature is too high. It will shut
down heat pump for protection.
2. When the outlet water temperature is deteced to be ≤ 60°C, the
heat pump exits the sub heating protection and will operate as
normal.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAILURE
1. The heat pump will stop if the water tank temperature sensor, outlet
water temperature sensor, or ambient temperature sensor is faulty.
2. The electric heater will continue to operate if the exhaust,
evaporator coil or water return temperature sensor is faulty.
3. When the return water temperature sensor fails, the return pump is
allowed to run (the return water temperature will not be accurate)
4. The electric heater will not operate if the water tank or ambient
temperature sensor are faulty.
5.. “11E”, “12E”, “13E” ", "14E", "15E", "17E", "18E", "19E". correspond
with the following faults: coil temperature sensor, ambient
temperature sensor, exhaust temperature sensor, inlet water
temperature sensor/tank temperature sensor, absorb temperature
sensor, and outlet water temperature sensor/return water
temperature sensor are faulty.
CONTROLLER INSTRUCTIONS
THE ALARM
LOW PRESSURE FAULT
1. If the compressor starts running for 5 minutes and the low-
pressure switch is o for 10 consecutive seconds the compressor
immediately stops running. At this time the controller will display
the low-pressure fault alarm code “04E”. If the low-pressure switch
is restored the error code does not occur. If no other protection or
locking occurs, the compressor will restart after 3 minutes.
2. If low-pressure fault protection appears 3 times within 1 hour, the
controller will lock the protection. The compressor will lock in the
shutdown protection state. At this time, only the shutdown and
restarting can unlock the compressor. The low-pressure switch is
not detected during the defrosting.
HIGH PRESSURE FAILURE
1. If the compressor starts running and the high-pressure switch is
o for for 10 consecutive seconds the compressor immediately
stops running. At this time the controller will display the high-
pressure fault alarm code “03E”. If the high-pressure switch is
restored, error code will not occur. If no other protection or
locking occurs, the compressor will restart after 3 minutes.
2. If high-pressure fault protection appears 3 times within 1 hour,
the controller will lock the protection, and the compressor will
be locked in the shutdown protection state. At this time only the
shutdown and restarting can unlock the compressor.
HIGH EXHAUST TEMPERATURE FAILURE
1. If the compressor starts running for 1 minute and the exhaust
gas temperature is detected to be higher than, or equal to the
exhaust high temperature protection value by 110°C for 10
consecutive seconds, a high exhaust temperature alarm will
sound and the compressor will stop. At this time, controller
shows high temperature fault alarm code "02E". When the
exhaust temperature drops back to 90°C, the alarm is released
and the normal temperature control function is restored.
2. If high temperature fault protection appears 3 times within half an
hour, the controller will lock the protection, and the compressor
will be locked in the shutdown protection state. At this time only
the shutdown and restarting can unlock the compressor.
WATER FLOW FAILURE
1. If the circulating water pump starts and the water flow switch is o
for 10 seconds then heat pump will stop. At this time, the controller
displays the water flow switch fault alarm code “01E”.
2. Periodically (1 minute) restarts the water pump and 10 seconds
later, the flow switch is detected. If water flow switch is closed,
heat pump will operate normally. If the fault occurs 3 times within
1 hour, the fault is locked and heat pump will not start.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
•Open the valve of water system, and the valve of assistant tank,
inject water inside the system, and exhaust air inside.
•Do adjustment after electrical safety inspection.
•After the power is switched on, test run the heat pump, to check it
is functioning correctly.
•Forced operation is not allowed, because it is very dangerous to
work without protection.
PREPARATION BEFORE ADJUSTMENT
•The system is installed correctly.
•Tubes and lines are putted in the right place.
•Accessories are installed.
•Ensure the smooth drainage.
•Ensure perfect insulation.
•Correct connection of ground lead.
•The supply voltage meets the required rated voltage.
•Air inlet and outlet function works.
•Electrical leakage protector works.
COMMISSIONING THE SYSTEM
ADJUSTMENT PROCESS
•Check if the switch of the line controller works.
•Check if the function keys of the line controller works.
•Check if the indicator light works.
•Check if the drainage system works.
•Check if the system works after starting up.
•Check if the water outlet temperature is acceptable.
•Check if there is vibration or abnormal sound when the system is
functioning.
•Check if the wind, noise and condensation water produced by the
system aect the environment around.
•Check if there is refrigerant leakage.
•If any fault occurs, please check the instructions first, to identify and
remove the fault.
PROFESSIONAL MAINTENANCE
Installers should be fully qualified to install and operate this system.
The system should be checked and maintained regularly to ensure it
is functioning correctly. The steps below should be followed during
maintenance.
•Do not adjust any settings.
•Ensure all components are operating correctly.
•Regularly check if the electrical connection. Tighten if required.
•Regularly check the reliability of the electrical components. Change
any faulty or unreliable components.
•After a long period of operation there will be a build up of
calcium oxidized or other mineral substances deposited on the
surface of water heat ex-changer copper coil. This will aect the
heat exchange performance and lead to high electrical consumption,
increased discharge pressure, and air pressure drop, and less hot
water being produced. Use formic acid, citric acid, acetic acid or
other organic acid to clean.
•Any dirt on the surface of the evaporator fin should be removed
by blowing o with 0.6Mpa or higher compressed air, or brushed
o with fine copper wire, or flushed by high pressurized water. This
should usually be done once per month.
• When restarting the equipment after a long period of non-operation
check the following: examine and clean the equipment carefully,
clean the water pipeline system, examine the water pump, and fasten
all the wire connections.
• Replacement parts must use emerald energy authentic accessories,
and can not be replaced by other similar accessories.
REFRIGERANT FILLING
Using the data display screen check the level of the refrigerant liquid.
Also check the suction and exhaust pressure. If there is a leak, or you
are changing components, ensure the refrigeration circulation system
is air tight.
LEAK DETECTION AND AIR TIGHTNESS TEST:
Never let the refrigeration system fill with oxygen, ethane or other
flammable harmful gas during a leak detection and air tightness test.
Only use compressed air, fluoride or refrigerant for such testing.
TO REMOVE THE COMPRESSOR
1. Turn o the power supply
2. Exhaust the refrigerant from the low pressure end. Reduce the ex-
haust speed, and avoid frozen oil leakage.
3. Remove the compressor air suction and exhaust pipe.
4. Remove the compressor power cables.
5. Remove the compressor fixing screws.
6. Remove the compressor.
