Plays real cassettes!
This compact and functional cassette player allows children to listen to their
favorite cassette with ease by pressing their capability switch. It has two play
modes so children can listen with adjustable headphones or through the built in
speaker. Has play, stop, and fast forward buttons, volume control and adjustable
strap for carrying. Great for increasing fine motor and auditory skills.
Size: 6"L x 5½"W. Requires 2 AA Batteries.
Operation:
1. The Small Cassette Player requires 2 “AA” batteries (Not included) to
operate. Please Note: Alkaline batteries are required (e.g. Duracell or
Energizer brand) Do not use rechargeable or heavy duty batteries as they
will not work with this device. Never mix old and new batteries together.
2. Turn the unit over to reveal the battery compartment. Slide the battery
compartment cover off. Observing proper (+) & (-) battery polarity, install
two AA size batteries into the holder. Replace the battery compartment
cover.
Inserting the Cassette Tape:
3. Before opening the cover ensure that all functions are switched OFF. Open
the cassette door by gently pulling on the upper right edge or the door and
open completely without force. Insert the tape with the tape side up and the
side you want to play facing towards you. Close the cassette door by gently
pushing down on it. If the door does not close, check that the tape is
correctly inserted and be careful not to apply force.
How to use the Cassette Player:
4. Plug in any capability switch with a 1/8" plug into the Cassette Player’s
cord jack. Make sure the AVR switch is set to OFF. Press the PLAY button
and then activate your switch, While activating your switch, adjust the
Volume to the level desired using the control dial. Once you release your
switch the Cassette Player will stop playing. You will need to maintain
activation of your switch to keep the tape playing or use a switch with a
Latch/Timer feature such as our No. 718-X or using a switch modifier like
our No.605
Listening:
5. To listen to the Cassette tapes, either use the integrated speaker in the
Cassette Player or purchase a set of stereo Headphones... To use the
headerphones, connect the headphones by inserting the Headphone’s plug
into the jack marked headphones.
6. For additional functions or features please check the original manufactures
user’s guide. Please Note: The Automatic Voice-Activated Recording
function has been disabled due to switch adaption.
Troubleshooting:
Problem: The tape player does not function.
Actions:
Check batteries for polarity placement and be sure to use fresh batteries.
Be sure the Play button is depressed.
Be sure the VOLUME control button is adjusted to an audible listening
level.
Check that the tape is not jammed or stuck.
Try your switch with another device you know works to rule out the switch
as the source of the problem.
Care of Unit:
The Small Cassette Player can be wiped clean with any mild household multi-
purpose cleaner and disinfectant. We recommend Simple Green, which is a non
toxic biodegradable all-purpose cleaner.
Do not submerge the unit, as it will damage the contents and the electrical
components.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface of the unit.
