Product Line
Thank you for purchasing the Enardo Emergency Pressure Relief Vent (EPRV) or
Emergency Pressure Relief Vent with Vacuum (EPRV-V). With proper installation,
usage and preventative maintenance the Enardo EPRV and EPRV-V can supply years of
pressure and/or vacuum relief with continued sealing performance that exceed the most
stringent industry standards (1 scfh @ 90% set point per valve). Below is a list of

Vent Operation
Both the Enardo EPRV and EPRV-V maintain a tight seal until system pressure, or
vacuum, exceeds the set pressure of the vent. To adjust the set pressure, a series of
weights may be stacked onto the lid assembly. When over-pressure occurs the weighted
lid assembly lifts, breaking the seal between the seat and seal portion of the lid assembly.
This allows vapors to pass through the vent orifice and relieve pressure build up. The
vent reseals upon relief and remains sealed.
It is important to know that relieving vapors near the set pressure in a continuous manner
may cause the lid assembly to flutter, or oscillate. This is a common occurrence in
products of this type in the industry. Operating the vent with flutter, or oscillation, over
time may cause premature vent damage or wear. Feel free to contact Enardo with any

Vent Installation
Prior to installation, remove the unit from its crate and discard any protective coverings.
Below is a list of instructions that are recommended for the installation of an Enardo
emergency relief valve. Both the EPRV and EPRV-V can be installed in the same
manner.
1. The weight loaded Emergency Pressure Relief Vent (EPRV) and Emergency Pressure Relief
Vent with Vacuum (EPRV-V) should be installed on flange bolt patterns that match that of
the vent itself. The attachment flange base should be a level surface.
2. Carefully, remove the EPRV or EPRV-V from its crating (see warning above). Keep in mind
that the seal portion of the vents is somewhat delicate, therefore protect this surface while
transporting the unit accordingly.
3. With an appropriate gasket placed on the level attachment flange, center the vent into place.
4. Insert the appropriate number of bolts and make sure the vent is fastened securely. Installed
bolts should be clear of the lid assembly when it is in the full open position.
5. Inspect the now installed unit for items that would keep it from working properly. The
sealing area should be free of any debris that would cause leakage. The arm of the vent
should be able to fully open.

The EPRV is shipped with its lid held partially open. The lid
assembly has attached weights and is heavy. Use caution when
removing the shipping blocks and metal bands to avoid injury to
fingers and hands.
Calibration weights must be removed before installing the EPRV onto
the tank. Failure to remove the weights could result in personal injury
and product damage. The weights should be reinstalled to their
original location once the EPRV is securely mounted to the tank. A
roll pin has been installed in the weight arm for weight location
purposes. When the weights are located in this manner the factory
setting will be established.

Vent Maintenance
Below is a list of instructions that are recommended preventative maintenance for the
Enardo EPRV and EPRV-V. (Pictures are provided)
1. Loosen fasteners on top of the vent and remove the hood and the spring chamber.
2. Inspect and clear away any debris or buildup that may cause the vent to become lodged or
impede air flow through the unit. DO NOT adjust the height of the installed spring.
Cleaning of internal components should be done with a suitable solvent and nonabrasive
cloth.
3. Replace the spring chamber and hood. Fasten securely.
4. On the outside of the unit clear away any debris or buildup that may cause the vent to
become lodged, impede air flow or add weight to the lid assembly (added weight will adjust
the pressure setting of the vent).

*****WARNING*****
Always make sure that the tank is at atmospheric pressure
before opening. A pressure build-up inside the tank can
cause a spray to be emitted from the vent if opened under
pressure.

Pressure and Vacuum Setting Information
Both the Enardo EPRV and EPRV-V can reach various pressure settings in units of
ounces or inches of water column. The minimum pressure setting that each vent can
achieve depends on the individual vent size and material. Minimum settings are reached
when the unit is installed by itself. However, when weights are added to the arm of the
unit, elevated pressures can be reached. These elevated settings are preset at the factory.
Vacuum settings for the EPRV-V are set with a spring. For each setting that Enardo
offers, there is a spring that is specifically designed to do the job. The standard settings
available are 0.5 oz., 0.75 oz., 1 oz. and 2 oz. Once again, these settings are preset at the
factory and should never be field adjusted.

Changing Pressure Setting in the Field :

Replacement calibration weight sets must only be obtained from the factory.
Do not attempt to change pressure settings in field without first contacting
Enardo Sales for technical support.

Enardo emergency vents are preset at the factory and typically do not require field adjustments.
Contact the factory prior to attempting any changes to the factory settings. Enardo will provide
appropriate weight sets along with needed hardware items required for this modification.
If specific setting changes are required, the EPRV should be sent to a qualified valve testing
facility that has the appropriate equipment for establishing and verifying the new setting. If the
user elects to make this change without the involvement of a qualified valve testing facility, the
following method should be used:
•Calibration weight sets must be provided by Enardo.
•When ordering replacement calibration weight sets, provide the serial number, size and
current setting information as shown on the product nameplate.
•Remove the exiting weigh set. These weights will not be used for the new setting, but the
fasteners and roll pin may be retained for use in the new installation if necessary
•Insert the two bolts into one of the new weights and position that weight at the extreme
inboard location in the weight arm adjustment slot. Secure this weight to the arm and match
drill a ¼” hole in the arm using the factory drilled hole in the weight as a guide.
•Install the ¼” roll pin the arm
•Install one of the new weights onto the weight arm, making sure the roll pin engages the
factory drilled hole in the weight.
•Add any additional weights and securely fasten to the weight
•The old nameplate must be removed and replaced with a new nameplate provided by the
factory, indicating the new pressure setting and venting capacity
The user shall assume responsibility for any field modifications to these products. Products with
user installed field modifications are not covered under Enardo’s product limited warranty.

PRODUCT LIMITED WARRANTY
WARRANTY - Enardo warrants, to the extent stated herein, all products manufactured
by it are free from original defects in workmanship or material for a period of twelve (12)
months. Seller at its option will repair or replace any products returned to the factory in
Tulsa, Oklahoma, transportation charges prepaid. Upon inspection, seller shall determine
any defect in material and/or workmanship. There are no further warranties either
express or implied in connection with the design, sale, merchantability or use of the items
of sale and/or services. The rights and remedies of buyer hereunder
(i) Are exclusive and in substitution for and buyer hereby waives, all other warranties,
guaranties, obligations, liabilities, rights and remedies, express or implied, arising by law
or otherwise, including, but not limited to, the implied warranty of merchantability, any
implied warranty of fitness and any obligation or liability of seller arising from tort or for
loss of use, revenue or profit, or for incidental or consequential damages, and
(ii) Shall not be modified except by written agreement, date even herewith or subsequent
hereto, signed on behalf of buyer and Enardo by the respective duly authorized
representatives.
