Read this first
Follow the instructions in this manual. These instructions are key to the installation and maintenance of the SG
Ready Relay. To ensure the safe installation and operation of the SG Ready Relay, note the following safety
symbols that appear throughout this document to indicate dangerous conditions and important safety
instructions.
DANGER:
This indicates a hazardous situation, which if not avoided, will result in
death or serious
injury.
WARNING:
This indicates a situation where failure to follow instructions may be a
safety
hazard
or cause equipment malfunction. Use extreme caution and
follow instructions carefully.
NOTE:
This indicates information that is very important for optimal system
operation. Follow instructions closely.
Safety instructions
DANGER:
Risk of electrocution!
Do not attempt to repair the SG Ready Relay. It contains no user-
serviceable parts. Tampering with or dismantling the SG Ready Relay will
void the warranty. If the equipment fails, contact Enphase Customer
Support (enphase.com/support) for assistance or replacement
equipment.
DANGER
: Risk
of electric shock
Do not use SG Ready Relay in a manner not specified by the manufacturer.
Doing so may cause death or injury to persons, or damage to equipment.
All sources to equipment being serviced must be disconnected external to
the device. In particular, the storage system may
energize conductors, so
storage circuits must ALWAYS be isolated via circuit breaker or
disconnected before working on any portion of the system.
Be aware that installation of this equipment includes risk of electric shock.
DANGER
: Risk
of electric shock. Risk of
fire
.
Only use electrical system components approved for wet locations.
Only qualified personnel should troubleshoot, install, or add parts to the
SG
Ready Relay
.
Ensure that all wiring is correct and that none of the wires are pinched or
damaged.
Do not work alone. Someone should be in the range of your voice or close
enough to come to your aid when you work with or near electrical
equipment. Remove rings, bracelets, necklaces, watches etc. when working
with batteries, photovoltaic
modules, or other electrical equipment.

Optimizing the heat pump using the SG Ready interface
Connect the Enphase IQ Energy Router to a supported heat pump using the SG Ready interface. Once
configured, the IQ Energy Router can optimize the operation of the heat pump to increase the self-
consumption of solar energy and lower the use of energy from the public electricity grid.
NOTE:The SG Ready signal is purely a recommendation to start the heat pump. The Enphase IQ
Energy Router can never force the heat pump system to turn ON or OFF. The comfort level of the
user is always safeguarded, and the correct operation of the heat pump system is ensured.
Performing the prerequisite checks
Perform the following prerequisite checks before proceeding with the wiring and configuration of the heat
pump equipment and SG Ready Relay:
•Follow the Enphase Energy System installation and commissioning instructions in the Enphase
Installer App.
•Activate the Enphase IQ Energy Router and configure it such that it can detect and connect to the
other components such as SG Ready Relay or Energy Meter referred to in this documentation.
Hardware requirements
Install the following hardware before you proceed with this document.
•Enphase hardware
oIQ Gateway
oIQ Battery
oIQ Microinverters
•Enphase Energy System hardware (hard copy guides provided in the box)
oIQ Energy Router
oEnergy Meter
oSG Ready Relay
•Heat pump system
oSupported tecalor heat pump system
otecalor ISG plus wired to the heat pump controller via CAN bus
oControl cable for wiring tecalor ISG plus to SG Ready Relay
NOTE: Install and connect the SG Ready Relay and Energy Meter to the same LAN of the customer.
Connection ISG plus to SG Ready Relay
The ISG plus serves as an information and communication interface between your heat pump and your home
network. For this purpose, the ISG plus provides the local SERVICEWELT website from tecalor. The device has
two contact inputs for coupling with the SG Ready Relay. This gives you the option of integrating your
connected heat pump into an intelligent power grid via SG Ready.

Warning: Electric shock. Do not touch live components as it can lead to dangerous injuries due to
electrical current. Disconnect the whole system before working on it with a separate fuse or via the
main fuse, check that no voltage is present afterwards and secure against switching on again. There
is risk that some components still carry voltage after the main voltage has been switched off.
NOTE: For the SG Ready functionality, you need an ISG plus with software version 4.10.0.0 or higher.
NOTE: Install and connect the ISG plus to the same LAN of the customer as SG Ready Relay and
Energy Meter.
Please check with the customer if a control cable is on site.
Follow the steps to start the connection:
1. Put the control cable into the connection socket of the ISG plus.
2. Connect the control cable with the SG Ready Relay in the following way:

Power on
After performing all the steps above, you can apply power by closing the breaker for the heat pump, the Energy
Meter, and the SG Ready Relay, and proceed with the next configuration step below.
Configuring the heat pump system controller
After the installation is done, the SG Ready function must be activated and configured on the heat pump
system controller.
Depending on the system controller of the heat pump, the activation and configuration of the SG Ready
function can be different.

Configuration of WPMsystem
Source: tecalor
1. Go to the WPMsystem inbuild controller display and click the “MENU” button for three seconds.
2. Go to “COMMISSIONING” > “I/O CONFIGURATION” > “INPUT X 1.13“.
3. Enter the code when you are asked to. The factory programmed code is “1 0 0 0”.
NOTE: Some menu items are protected by a password code. If the factory programmed code is not
working and the new code is not known, reach out to the responsible heat pump installer.
4. Go to “SG READY” and click the “OK” button on the control panel to enable the SG Ready function.
5. Click the “MENU” button again to exit the menu.
NOTE: If you need help identifying the heat pump controller at the site, reach out to the
responsible heat pump installer.
NOTE: A minimum software version is required for the heat pump controller to work with the ISG
plus. You can find the manual to check the minimum software version of the controller here.
Configuration of WPM 3
For the WPM 3 controller there is no special SG Ready enabling necessary.

Enabling and configuring the SG Ready function on ISG plus
The SG Ready function must be enabled in the local SERVICEWELT portal of the ISG plus. Perform the following
steps to access the SERVICEWELT portal:
1. Open the browser in your PC/Notebook, Tablet or Smartphone.
2. Enter one of the following in the address bar of your browser:
o“http://servicewelt/”,
oautomatically assigned IP address (DHCP enabled) or
o“192.168.0.126” (default IP address; DHCP disabled / IP address assigning failed)
3. Enable and configure the SG Ready function in the SERVICEWELT by performing the following:
a. Go to SERVICEWELT menu bar and select “SETTINGS” “ENERGIEMANAGEMENT”.
b. Set “SG READY ENABLED” to “ON”.
c. Set “SG READY INPUT” to “ISG PLUS”.
