shock.

Safety
10
2) Do not connect the generator to other power sources, such as the
power company supply mains. Do not connect the generator to any
other existing electrical distribution systems.
3) Protection against electrical shock depends on circuit breakers
specially matched to the generating set. If the circuit breakers require
replacement, replace them only with circuit breakers having identical
ratings and performances characteristics.
4) Due to high mechanical stresses, use only tough rubber-sheathed
flexible cable (in accordance with IEC 60245-4) or the equivalent.
5) Always connect the generator’s earth terminal to a suitable earth point
using a suitable earth spike and cable.
6) Do not use extension cables with a resistance value exceeding 1,5 Ω.
The total length of lines for a cross section of 1,5 mm2must not exceed
60 m and for a cross section of 2,5 mm2, must not exceed 100 m. Use
only extension cables that are approved for outdoor use.

and positions of the controls and indicators. Familiarise yourself with
the functions of the generator and the position of the controls and
indicators before use.
2) Check the generator for signs of damage, disconnect any electrical
equipment; and ensure that the generator is located on a flat, level
surface well away from bystanders and any inflammable materials
before starting the generator.
3) Place the generator on a flat, level surface well away from inflammable
materials and away from any bystanders. Mantain a safety distance of
at least one meter between the generator and surrounding walls and
between the generator and the connected equipment.

Safety
11
Starting the RIC engine
1) Do not use any readily evaporating fuels as a starting aid.
2) Start the generator with care and be aware that the recoil starter can
‘whiplash’. Keep a firm grip on the recoil starter to avoid the risk of
injury.
Using the generating set

Safety instructions for charging 12 V DC lead –acid
batteries
WARNING!
Bear in mind that the clamps of any cable connected to the 12 V DC outlet are
always live when the generator is running. Never allow the red and black
clamps to touch and keep them away from metallic objects.
WARNING!
RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES:
a. Working in vicinity of a lead-acid battery is dangerous: batteries
generate explosive gases during normal battery operation. For this
reason, it is of utmost importance that you act with care and follow
all instructions each time you use the generator to charge lead acid
batteries.
b. To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and
those published by the car battery manufacturer and the manufacturer
of any equipment you intend to use in the vicinity of the battery.
Review cautionary markings on these products and on the engine.
Personal precautions
a. Consider having someone close enough by to come to your aid when
you work near a lead-acid battery.
b. Wear complete eye protection and clothing protection. Avoid touching
eyes while working near batteries.
c. Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid
contacts skin, clothing, or eyes.
d. If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap
and water. If acid enters your eye, immediately flood eye with running
cold water and get medical attention immediately.
e. NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of battery or
engine.
f. Be extra cautious to reduce risk of dropping a metal tool on to the
battery. It might spark or short circuit the battery or another electrical
part that may cause explosion.

Before using the product
14
g. Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and
watches when working with a lead-acid battery. A lead-acid battery
can produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring or the
like to metal, causing a severe burn.
h. Connect any cable connected to the generator to a LEAD-ACID battery
only. The generator’s 12 V DC outlet is not intended to supply power to
a low voltage electrical system. Do not use the generator for charging
dry-cell batteries that are commonly used with household appliances.
These batteries may burst and cause injury to persons and damage to
property.
i. NEVER attempt to charge a frozen battery.
Preparing to charge a battery
a. Remove your vehicle’s battery from the vehicle.
b. Be sure the area around the battery is well ventilated.
c. Clean the battery terminals. Be careful to keep corrosion from coming
into contact with your eyes.
d. Study the battery manufacturer’s specific precautions and follow these.
e. Determine voltage of battery by referring to your car's owner’s manual
and make sure that it matches the rating of the generator.
Charging location
a. Locate the generator as far away from your battery as cable permits.
b. Do not operate in any closed-in area or restrict ventilation in any way.
Before using the product
Checking the generator and pack contents
• Take the generator out of the packaging.
• Check that the delivery is complete (see section: “List of contents and features”)
• Check whether the generator or any of its individual parts are damaged.
• If this is the case, do not use the generator. Contact the manufacturer at the
service address specified on the warranty card.

Before using the product
15
Filling the engine with oil
Do not to overfill with oil. Overfilling with oil can lead to damage to the engine. The
maximum capacity of the oil tank is 0.6l.
Never start the engine without oil.
CAUTION!
Check that the generator is not running, disconnect any electrical
equipment and ensure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position
before performing any kind of maintenance or adjustments.
The engine oil alert system will automatically stop the engine before the oil
level falls below the safe limit. However, it is advisable to visually inspect the
oil level regularly.
NOTICE!
Material required: #2 PH Screwdriver
Engine oil
Petroluem spirit
Clean cloth
• Place the generator on a flat, level
surface.
• Unscrew and remove the maintenance
cover 6using a #2 PH screwdriver.
• Remove any debris from around the oil
inlet area using a clean cloth.
In summer use type SAE 15W40 and in winter use type SAE10W30.
Proceed as follows to fill the generator with oil:
6
• Unscrew the oil inlet cap 21 from the
oil inlet.
• Use the dipstick fitted to the oil cap to
measure the oil level. Wipe the dipstick
clean with a rag then insert the dipstick
into the oil inlet but do not screw it in
place. Withdraw the dipstick and check
the oil level.
21

Before using the product
16
• To add oil fill the oil refill container 25
with oil and slowly pour oil into the oil
inlet.
• Let the oil settle for one minute and recheck the oil level as described above.
• Repeat as many times as necessary, checking the oil level with the dipstick each
time. Do not overfill.
• Screw the dipstick into the oil inlet and replace the maintenance cover.
• Ensure that the oil is level between the
LOW (L) and HIGH (H) marks.
LOW (L)
HIGH (H)
• Do not exceed the maximum capacity.
• Refer to the fuel level indicator fitted in
the fuel filter (see arrow).
Filling the fuel tank
NOTICE!
Use clean, fresh unleaded petrol min. 91 RON. Petrol with up to 10% ethanol content
may be used but do not use E85 high ethanol fuels. Do not mix the fuel with oil.
Never fill the tank without the fuel filter in place.
• Turn the fuel cap vent lever 1to the
ON position.
• Unscrew the fuel cap 2.
• Carefully fill the tank with unleaded
fuel.

Earthing the generator
WARNING!
Ensure the generator is externally earthed when using an earthed
appliance to prevent electric shock.
• Connect the generator’s earth terminal
17 to a suitable earth point.
We recommend the use of an earth spike
(not supplied).
17
Engine oil alert system
The generator's engine oil alert system is designed to prevent engine damage
caused by an insufficient amount of oil in the crankcase. Before the oil falls below a
safe limit, the engine oil alert system with shut the engine off.
The engine oil alert light 20 will light red
when the engine oil alert system shuts off
the motor.
If this occurs, add engine oil as described
in the chapter "Filling the engine with oil".
