Wir bedanken uns bei Ihnen sehr herzlich für das entgegen-
gebrachte Vertrauen. Ihre Uhr wurde in unserer Manufaktur mit
hohem Fertigungsaufwand hergestellt und in traditioneller Weise
einzeln von unseren Uhrmachern montiert und eingestellt.
Um Ihnen für viele Jahre Freude an Ihrer Tischuhr zu ermöglichen,
bitten wir Sie folgende Ausführung in aller Ruhe zu lesen und die
Hinweise zu befolgen.

Die Entscheidung für Ihre Tischuhr beweist, dass Sie zu einem Kreis
ausgewiesener Kenner auf dem Gebiet höchster mechanischer Uhrmacher-
kunst gehören.
Immerhin ist Ihr neuer Zeitmesser hinsichtlich seiner Konstruktion, der
Detailtreue sowie des immensen Fertigungsaufwands ein Spitzenprodukt
unserer Manufaktur.
Ein derart kostbares Instrument verlangt in der Handhabung naturgemäß ein
hohes Maß an Sorgfalt und Vorsicht. Schon aus diesem Grund bitten wir Sie,
die folgende Ausführung in aller Ruhe zu lesen und die Hinweise zu befolgen,
so werden Sie an Ihrer Uhr für viele Jahrzehnte ungetrübte Freude haben.
Selbstverständlich haben auch wir unseren Teil dazu beigetragen, dass
die Liebe zu diesem Meisterstück von langer Dauer sein wird. Zum Beispiel
sind sämtliche Messingräder zum Schutz gegen Korrosion vergoldet. Das
Räderwerk und die Hemmungsteile wurden so feinbearbeitet und gelagert,
dass – entsprechende Wartung vorausgesetzt – die einwandfreie Funktion
über Generationen hinweg gewährleistet ist.
Seit Jahrhunderten sind Pult-, Kamin- und Konsolenuhren fester Bestandteil
gehobener, geschmackvoller Innenausstattungen. Die äußere Gestalt richtete
sich nach Stil der Epoche und dem Verwendungszweck, wobei entweder
schmückende oder funktionale Aspekte dominierten. In der Renaissance waren
Tischuhren neben den Zeigern für Stunden und Minuten von zahlreichen
kalendarischen und anderen astronomischen Indikationen geprägt.
Weltgewandte Kunstliebhaber demonstrierten damit eindrucksvoll ihr Interesse
am Fortschritt der Wissenschaft. Heute knüpft Erwin Sattler an diese lange
Tradition an. Exquisite Manufakturarbeit und technische Innovation, gepaart
mit zeitgemäßem Design, stehen im Vordergrund – immer mit dem gewohnten
Qualitätsanspruch der Manufaktur. Und sie sind einfach unwiderstehlich schön.
Wie jedes andere Instrument dieser Art verlangt auch Ihre Uhr pflegliche
Behandlung und ein gewisses Maß an Wartung. Spätestens nach 8 Jahren
sollten Sie Ihre Tischuhr einer kompetenten Uhrmacherwerkstatt anvertrauen,
um die Lager reinigen und neu ölen zu lassen. Dies berücksichtigt, wird
sie Ihnen über Jahrzehnte unermüdlich ihren Dienst tun und als wertvoller
Zeitmesser mit Stolz von Generation zu Generation weitergereicht werden.

Das Aufstellen der Uhr
Wählen Sie zum Aufstellen Ihrer Uhr einen trockenen Ort. Packen Sie die Uhr bitte vorsichtig
aus (das Packmaterial für eventuelle Transporte der Uhr aufheben) und stellen Sie diese an
ihren Platz. Um die verchromten Oberflächen Ihrer Uhr zu schonen, bedienen und bewegen sie
die Uhr bitte nur mit den beigelegten Handschuhen.
Inbetriebnahme der Uhr
Stecken Sie den mitgelieferten Schlüssel auf das Aufzugsvierkant an der Rückseite der Uhr
und ziehen Sie die Uhr vorsichtig nach links bis zum spürbaren Widerstand auf.
Einstellen der Uhrzeit
Mit dem zentralen Einstellknopf auf der Rückseite der Uhr lässt sich die Uhrzeit vorwärts
oder rückwärts einstellen.
Einstellen der Mondphase
Die Mondphasenanzeige kann schrittweise mit Hilfe des unteren Einstellknopfes auf
der Rückeite in beide Richtungen verstellt werden. Die Uhr sollte so eingestellt werden,
dass die Mondphasenanzeige immer in der Nacht weiter schaltet. (Mondphasenkalender
siehe Seite 16.)
Achtung: Um Beschädigungen vorzubeugen darf die manuelle Mondphasenverstellung nicht
in der Zeit von 2200 bis 200 Uhr betätigt werden.
Regulieren des Uhrwerks
Ihre Uhr wurde in unseren Werkstätten genau einreguliert. Sollte das Uhrwerk dennoch
im Laufe einer Woche größere Gangabweichungen aufweisen, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihr
Uhrenfachgeschäft. Dort wird man Ihre Uhr mit der nötigen Sorgfalt nachregulieren.

Das Aufstellen der Uhr

Packen Sie die Uhr bitte vorsichtig aus (das Packmaterial für eventuelle Transporte der Uhr
aufheben) und stellen Sie diese an ihren Platz. Um die polierten Oberflächen Ihrer Uhr zu
schonen, bedienen und bewegen sie die Uhr bitte nur mit den beigelegten Handschuhen.
Inbetriebnahme der Uhr
Öffnen sie die vordere Türe, gleichzeitig öffnet sich auch das Fach für den Schlüssel im Deckel
der Uhr. Stecken Sie den Schlüssel auf das Aufzugsvierkant im Zifferblatt und ziehen Sie die
Uhr vorsichtig nach rechts bis zum spürbaren Widerstand auf. Der Zeiger der Gangreserve
zeigt dann auf den 15. Tag.
Einstellen der Uhrzeit
Zum Einstellen der Uhrzeit darf der Minutenzeiger nur vorwärts bewegt werden.
Einstellen des Datums
Die Datumsanzeige kann schrittweise, über den Zeiger, nur vorwärts im Uhrzeigersinn verstellt
werden. Die Uhr sollte so eingestellt werden, dass die Datumsanzeige immer in der Nacht
weiter schaltet.
Achtung: Um Beschädigungen vorzubeugen darf die manuelle Datumsverstellung nicht
in der Zeit von 2200 bis 200 Uhr betätigt werden.

Ihre Uhr wurde in unseren Werkstätten genau einreguliert. Sollte das Uhrwerk dennoch

Zeit von 2200 bis 200 Uhr betätigt werden.

DIE MONDPHASEN
Der Mond umkreist die Erde in einem Abstand von 384.405 km,
der Monddurchmesser beträgt 3.476 km,
sein Rauminhalt ist 50mal kleiner als das Erdvolumen.
Die Anziehungskraft ist bedeutend geringer, als diejenige der Erde,
alle Gewichte wären auf dem Mond 6mal leichter.
Temperatur der Mondoberfläche während der Sonnenbestrahlung 130°,
während der zwei Wochen dauernden Mondnacht –158°.
In 29 Tagen, 12 Stunden, 44 Minuten und 2,8 Sekunden führt der Mond
einen Umlauf um die Erde aus.
Der Mond kehrt der Erde immer die gleiche Seite zu, er dreht sich
also während eines Umlaufs einmal um seine eigene Achse.

Your decision to purchase a mechanical table clock shows that you belong to
the very small circle of special connoisseurs of highest mechanical clockmaking
art. Your new clock is after all a first-class product of our company concerning
its construction, faithfulness to details and last but not least its great manu-
factural expense.
Such a precious instrument naturally has to be handled with a high degree
of care. Let alone for this reason you should read the following information
and follow the advice given. You will thus be able to enjoy your pendulum clock
for many decades.
In order to protect them from corrosion, all wheels of the table clock are
gold-plated. The exact fine machining and the arrangement of the bearings
concerning the gears and all parts of the escapement ensure – good
maintenance being presupposed – perfect function for generations.
Desk, mantel and table clocks have been a staple of upmarket, tasteful interior
design for centuries. Their appearance was always influenced for one by the
style of their era and for another by their intended use, with either decorative
or functional aspects dominating. During the Renaissance, table clocks were
equipped with numerous calendar and other astronomical displays in addition
to the hands showing the hours and minutes. Sophisticated art connoisseurs
used them to demonstrate and impress with their interest in the progression
of science. Erwin Sattler continues on this long tradition today. The focus is
on exquisite craftsmanship and technical innovation coupled with contemporary
design – and the manufacture’s usual high standards of quality always apply.
What is more, these clocks are simply irresistibly beautiful.
As every other instrument of this kind your clock also requires careful handling
and a certain degree of maintenance.
After 8 years the latest you should entrust your table clock to a competent
clockmaker's workshop in order to have the bearings cleaned and oiled anew.
It will then untiringly do good service over decades and will be passed on with
pride from one generation to the next as a precious chronometer.

Where to place the clock
Choose for your clock a place without direct insolation. Please unpack the clock
carefully (keep the packing material for possible transports of the clock) and put it on its
predetermined place.
To protect the chromed surface of your clock, operate and move the clock please only with the
enclosed gloves.
How to set the clock in motion
Use the included winding key and attach it on the winding square at the back of the clock
and wind carefully counter clockwise to the stop.
How to set the time
With the button at the back of the clock you can set time forward or backwards.
How to set the moon phase
The moon phase can be adjusted gradually with the help of the lower knob on the back in
both directions. The clock should be set so that the moon phase display always change
at night. (You will find the moon phases at page 34.)
Caution: To prevent damage, the manual adjustment of the moon phase should not be operated
during the period from 10pm to 2am.
How to adjust the clockwork
Your clock has been exactly adjusted in our workshop. Should you however notice a great
deviation of your clock in the course of one week, please consult your clockmaker. He will
then readjust your clock with the necessary care.

opens and attach the key on the winding square in the dial. Wind up the clock carefully to the
stop, until the up-and-down hand points to the 15th day.

In order to set the time the minute hand can only be turned forwards. The date hand can also
only be turned forwards, clockwise.

Where to place the clock
Choose for your clock a place without direct insolation. Please unpack the clock
carefully (keep the packing material for possible transports of the clock) and put it on its
predetermined place. To protect the surface of your clock, operate and move the clock please
only with the enclosed gloves.
How to set the clock in motion
Use the included winding key (located at the back in the socket) and attach it on the winding
square at the back of the clock. Wind it up carefully clockwise to the stop, until the up-and-
down hand points to the 15th day.

How to set the time
In order to set the time the adjustment knob can be turned forwards and backwards.
How to set the calendar
The date can only be adjusted clockwise. The clock should be set so that the date display
always change at night.

How to set the moon phase
The moon phase can be adjusted gradually with the help of the lower knob on the back in
both directions. The clock should be set so that the moon phase display always change during
the day. (You will find the moon phases at page 34.)

THE PHASES OF THE MOON
The moon circles the earth at a distance of 384.405 km
and its diameter is 3.476 km.
The moon’s volume is 50 times less that of the earth`s.
The gravitational pull is significantly less than that of the earth
and all weights on the moon are 6 times lighter.
The temperature of the moon’s surface during the exposure to sunlight is 130° Celsius,
while during the moonlight night which lasts two weeks is –158° Celsius.
It takes the moon 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 2.8 seconds
to circle the globe.
The moon always shows the earth the same face.
It rotates once around its owns axis during this revolution.
