The ESSILOR trial lens sets are easy-to-use vision testing
instruments.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PRODUCT
The ESSILOR trial lens sets contain spherical, cylindrical and
prismatic trial lens along with accessories.
Every lens is subject to an accurate factory quality check. Each
lens has its own designated place in the protective storage case.
This enables correct storage of the lens and prevents damage to or
loss of lenses.
Lens power and type is marked on both the lens and the relevant
storage slot. All lenses are assembled in chromed brass rings.

Positive refractive power lenses are marked with a + symbol
before the dioptre, the negative power lenses are marked with a -.
Prismatic lenses are preceded by a ∆ symbol. The accessories are
marked with normalised letters.
In order to allow an easy recognition of the type of lens (spherical,
cylindrical, prismatic, accessory) the set is subdivided in sections
each containing a different type. Such sections are marked with
labels for easy recognition.
The 260 lenses’ set contains:
•39 pairs of spherical lenses, positive and negative
•20 pairs of cylindrical lenses, positive and negative
•14 prisms from 1° to 10°
•10 accessories
The 167-lens set contains:
•26 pairs of spherical lenses, positive and negative
•13 pairs of cylindrical lenses, positive and negative
•5 prisms from 1° to 5°
•6 accessories
All products are Class I (without measuring function) and comply
with the marking, regulation 2017/745/UE.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
For a correct use of the trial lens ESSILOR, it is necessary to use a
pair of trial frames.
The lenses must be placed onto the trial frames, which have been
already placed on the patient’s face.
The operator, changing the type and dioptric power of the lenses,
allows the patient to have an optimal sight when looking at a test
chart. The operator is then able to make an assessment of the
correct prescription.
WARNING
For the correct use and durability of the trial lens set ESSILOR it is
suggested to observe the following precautions.
•Do not expose on a direct flame or on sources of heat
•Do not leave the case on radiators or other hot surfaces.
•Do not clean the lenses with abrasive materials as this
could create scratches
•Do not drop the lenses.
•Always, after use, replace the lenses in the correct slot in
the storage case.
Any use which does not comply with these instructions may give
rise to risks.
MAINTENANCE
To maintain the product in perfect condition it is necessary to clean
the product AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH. For this we suggest the following
steps:
1. remove, with a soft paint brush, any loose dirt or dust
particles
2. clean the surface of the lens with a soft cloth, slightly
damped with a suitable non-abrasive cleansing fluid.
It is important to follow the order of the steps hereby suggested,
in order to prevent accidental scratches.
ACID OR ABRASIVE DETERGENTS MUST NOT BE
USED
Using properly cleaned lenses is essential for a correct and precise
sight examination.

The user shall notify any serious incident that has occurred in
relation to the device to the manufacturer and the competent
authority of the Member State in which he is established.
DISPOSAL
When it reaches the end of its lifetime, the instrument should not
be thrown out with the household refuse. It can be disposed of at a
waste management center operated by the municipality or the
retailers who offer this service.
