When using electrical appliances, especially when
children are present, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER
• To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
• Always turn off and unplug immediately
after using.
• Do not use while bathing.
• Do not use in the shower, over a sink lled
with water, or with wet hands.
• The dryer should never be left unattended
when plugged in.
• Close supervision is necessary when the dryer
is used by, on, or near children or individuals
with certain disabilities.
• Children should be supervised to ensure they
do not play with the dryer.
DANGER – As with most electrical appliances,
electrical parts carry current even when the switch is off.
WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns,
electrocution, re, or injury to persons:
• Do not place or store dryer where it can fall or be
pulled into a tub or sink.
• Do not place in or drop into water or other liquids.
• If the dryer falls into water, unplug it immediately.
Do not reach into the water.

• Use the dryer only for its intended use as
described in this manual. Do not use attachments
not recommended by Etekcity.
• Never use this dryer if it has a damaged cord or
plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been
damaged or partly/fully immersed in water.
• Keep the dryer and its cord away from heated
surfaces, including hot parts of the dryer. Do not
wrap the cord around the dryer.
• Do not use the dryer with a twisted, bent or
otherwise damaged cord.
• Never block the openings of the dryer or place it
on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where
the openings may be blocked. Keep the openings
free of lint, hair, etc.
• Never use while sleeping.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
• Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol
(spray) products are being used or where oxygen
is being administered.
• Do not use the dryer if there is visible damage, if it
is not working properly, or if it has been dropped.
• Regularly check the dryer and its cord for damage.
If the power supply is abnormal or if the dryer
or its cord needs examination or repair, contact
Customer Service (see page 18). Do not repair
on your own. Repairs that are not performed by
experts can be extremely dangerous.
• The cord cannot be repaired. The dryer must be
discarded if the cord is damaged.
• Grab the cord by the plug when unplugging. Never
pull on the cord itself.
• Do not use an extension cord with the dryer.
• Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other heat-
sensitive areas.
• Attachments may be hot during use. Allow them
to cool before handling.
• Allow the dryer to cool before storing or cleaning.
• Do not place dryer on any surface while it is
operating.
• While using the dryer, keep your hair away from
the air inlets.

• Do not use with a voltage converter.
• If not operating the dryer for an extended time,
switch it off.
• The dryer must be stored in a dry place at
temperatures between 32°–95°F / 0°–35°C.
• Do not expose the dryer to heat (radiator, oven,
etc.), direct sunlight, or humidity.
• Keep the dryer clean and do not use abrasives or
products containing solvents on the dryer.
• Household use only.
• In the event of immersion, the built-in
protective device on the plug will not allow
the dryer to operate.
• Periodically check the safety plug to verify that
it is in proper working order:
• This appliance is equipped with a thermostat that may
cycle OFF if the temperature exceeds comfort level due
to the partially blocked air inlet or air outlet openings. In
the event that the appliance slows down during use, turn
off the switches and allow the appliance to cool down, at
which time the thermostat will automatically reset.

• Place the plug into the outlet and press the
TEST (yellow) button. The dryer should
immediately stop.
• If the TEST button does not work properly,
return the dryer to the manufacturer.
• To resume operation, unplug the dryer,
press the RESET button, and plug it back in.

SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No
grounding means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a means for grounding
be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and
knowledge of the system, and should be done only by qualied service personnel. Replacement
parts for a double-insulated appliance must be identical to the parts they replace. A double-
insulated appliance is marked with the words “DOUBLE INSULATION” or “DOUBLE INSULATED.”
The symbol (square within a square) may also be marked on the appliance.
This dryer is equipped with a thermostat that may cycle off if the temperature exceeds
comfort levels due to the partially blocked air inlet or air outlet openings. In the event
that the dryer slows down during use, turn off the switches and allow the dryer to cool
down, at which time the thermostat will automatically reset.

Color Mode Description
OFF None Hair dryer is off.
Green
TP1 (122°F) The heat sensor will detect your hair temperature and
automatically adjust the heat to protect hair from damage.
Note: The heat level cannot be adjusted manually in
this mode.
TP2 (149°F)
Purple Normal (100°–190°F)
The heat level can be adjusted manually.
Note: Use caution when drying with temperatures 158°F
or higher.
Blue Cool (Approx. 88°F)
The dryer will emit cool air.
Note: If the heat level is adjusted, the dryer will exit Cool Mode
and enter Normal Mode.
Orange Warning The heat sensor has detected hair temperatures at 158°F
(70°C) or above.
The display color will change based on the function or mode currently activated.

• Press to turn the Negative Ion Function off/on.
• This function creates a cloud of negative ions
to decrease static and help reduce frizz.
• This function is enabled by default.
• Press to turn on Intelligent Temperature
Control and to switch between TP1
(122°F), TP2 (149°F), and Normal Mode.
• TP1 (122°F) is enabled by default.
Note:
• When Intelligent Temperature Control is on, hair
temperature is monitored and regulated in real
time. The hair dryer will automatically maintain
hair temperature at 122°F (TP1) or 149°F (TP2).
• While Intelligent Temperature Control is on, you
cannot manually change the heat level. To change
the heat level, keep pressing to cycle back to
Normal Mode.
• Using the diffuser attachment may affect the
accuracy of the heat sensor.

IMPORTANT: THIS IS A HIGH-TEMPERATURE
PRODUCT
1. Wash your hair and dry it with a towel.
Make sure your hands are dry before plugging in
the hair dryer.
2. Press to turn the hair dryer on.
3. Press +/- on the temperature control button
to set the heat level between level 1 and level 5.

4. Alternatively, press to switch between TP1
(122°F), TP2 (149°F), and Normal Mode.
5. Press +/- on the air speed control button to set
the air speed between level 1 and level 5.

Note: The hair dryer will remember your last
used settings.
Note: You must be in Normal Mode to manually
control the heat level.

6. Optionally, press ION to turn the Negative Ion
Function on/off.
7. Optionally, press for cool airow. To turn it off,
press again.
8. When you are nished, press to turn off the
hair dryer before unplugging it.
• Your hair dryer comes with concentrator and
diffuser attachments.
• The concentrator allows you to direct the airow
to target specic parts of your hair.
• The diffuser allows you to spread the airow
over a larger area and is especially useful for
curly hair.

Care & Maintenance Note: If the lter cap is twisted too tightly, wrap
a rubber band around the cap for a better grip.
Note: When using this hair dryer near water
(such as in bathrooms), we recommend using
an electrical outlet protected by a Ground Fault
Circuit Interrupter.
• If the hair dryer overheats, it will automatically
turn off.
• Unplug the hair dryer and allow it to cool for
10–20 minutes before using it again.
• Unplug the hair dryer before cleaning.
• Do not let children clean the hair dryer.
• Never immerse the hair dryer in water.
Overheat Protection
This hair dryer does not typically require maintenance.
Keep all vents and openings clear of dirt and dust.
If cleaning is necessary, unplug the hair dryer and
allow it to completely cool. Do not allow the hair dryer
to come in contact with water or allow moisture or
debris to enter the hair dryer while cleaning.
• You can use a slightly damp cloth to clean the
exterior of the hair dryer. Afterward, dry with a
dry cloth.
• Dust and lint can be removed from air intake
openings using a small brush or a vacuum
cleaner brush attachment.
• Occasionally clean the lter cap to remove dust
and hairs. Twist the cap counterclockwise to
remove and clockwise to replace.

Allow the hair dryer to cool, then store in its box or
hang on a hook out of reach of children in a safe, dry,
and clean location. During storage, the cord should
remain loose with no tight bends or folds. Do not jerk
or strain cord. Any pulling, twisting, severe folding
or bending may rupture the power cord and cause
electrical short circuit or other malfunctions. If the
cord becomes twisted, untwist prior to use.
When you wish to dispose of this product, give it to
your local designated recycling center and follow the
classication and recycling regulations for electronic
products in your country. The correct disposal of this
product reduces negative effects on the environment
and on human health.

Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Solution
Hair dryer will not
turn on.
Make sure the hair dryer is plugged in.
Make sure the RESET button on plug is pressed in. (see page 6)
Hair dryer suddenly
stops working.
Overheat protection has been activated. Wait 10–20 minutes to allow the hair
dryer to cool, then turn it back on. The hair dryer should work normally.
Display shows Error
Code “E1”.
The heat sensor has malfunctioned. Real-time temperature cannot be displayed.
You will not be able to use Intelligent Temperature Control (TP), but you can still
use the hair dryer in Normal Mode.

Display shows Error
Code “E2”.
Overheat protection has activated. Wait 10–20 minutes to allow the hair dryer to
cool, then turn it back on. The hair dryer should work normally.
Hair dryer stops
heating, but the fan still
works.
Overheat protection has activated. Wait 10–20 minutes to allow the hair dryer to
cool, then turn it back on. The heating functions should work normally again.

Warranty Information
Terms & Policy
Etekcity Corporation (“Etekcity”) warrants this product to
the original purchaser to be free from defects in material
and workmanship, under normal use and conditions, for
a period of 1 year from the date of original purchase.
Etekcity agrees, at our option during the warranty period,
to repair any defect in material or workmanship or
furnish an equal product in exchange without charge,
subject to verication of the defect or malfunction and
proof of the date of purchase.

not apply:
• If the product has been modied from its
original condition;
• If the product has not been used in accordance
with directions and instructions in the user manual;
• To damages or defects caused by accident, abuse,
misuse or improper or inadequate maintenance;
• To damages or defects caused by service or repair
of the product performed by an unauthorized
service provider or by anyone other than Etekcity;
• To damages or defects occurring during
commercial use, rental use, or any use for which
the product is not intended;
• To damages or defects exceeding the cost of
the product.
Etekcity will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or
consequential damages in connection with the use
of the product covered by this warranty.
This warranty extends only to the original consumer
purchaser of the product and is not transferable to any
subsequent owner of the product regardless of whether
the product is transferred during the specied term of
the warranty.

This warranty does not extend to products purchased
from unauthorized sellers. Etekcity’s warranty extends
only to products purchased from authorized sellers that
are subject to Etekcity’s quality controls and have agreed
to follow its quality controls.
All implied warranties are limited to the period of this
limited warranty.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights and you
may also have other rights which vary from state
to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or
limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so
the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
If you discover that your product is defective within the
specied warranty period, please contact Customer
Support via support@etekcity.com. DO NOT dispose of
your product before contacting us. Once our Customer
Support Team has approved your request, please return
the product with a copy of the invoice and order ID.
Extend Your Warranty by 1 Year
Register your product within 14 days of purchase at
www.etekcity.com/warranty to extend your 1-year
warranty by an additional year.
