Eco Dry
The VS Sassoon Eco Dry is compact and lightweight with
comparable performance to today’s 2000W dryers, with only half
the energy consumption*. Using the VS Sassoon Eco Dry for 10
minutes everyday saves enough energy which is the equivalent
of making 7.5 cups of tea everyday and cooking 11 slices of toast.
The Eco-air system uses advanced heater and airflow technology
ensuring fast drying with only half the energy. *Tested according
to industry norms, in laboratory conditions, and subject to
production tolerances. See IEC testing 61855 and Energy Saving
Test section for more information.
1. 1000 watts
2. Fast drying with only half the energy
3. Ionic Conditioning technology™ - internal ionic generator
conditions hair to reduce static, leaving hair silky and shiny
4. 2 heat/speed settings
5. Cool shot to set your style
6. Lightweight for ease of use
7. Slim concentrator nozzle
How to use your Eco Dry
1. Wash and condition your hair as usual.
2. Always towel-dry your hair before using the dryer.
3. Ensure the switch is set to the off ('0') setting before plugging
into a suitable power outlet.
4. There are 2 heat/speed settings, plus the cool shot button.
a. Use the low heat/speed setting as the hair begins to dry and
for styling and scrunch drying. The low heat is also best for
fine or damaged hair.
b. Use the high heat setting for initial drying and for thick,
hard to dry hair.
5. Use the cool shot button on warm hair to rapidly cool the hair
and set the style in place for a longer-lasting effect.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are
present, basic safety instructions should always be followed,
including the following:
Polythene bags over product or package may be dangerous. To
avoid danger of suffocation, keep this wrapper away from babies
and children. This bag is not a toy.
DANGER: Unplug unit when not in use. All appliances are
electrically live even when switched off.

a bathroom.
• Do not immerse in water or other liquids. Do not use in the
bath, or near basins or other vessels containing water.

and the skin, paying particular attention to the face, neck and
hands.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including

or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

of the appliance in storage.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening
• Always ensure that the voltage to be used corresponds to the
voltage marked on the unit.
• For additional protection, the installation of a residual current
device (RCD) with a rated operating current not exceeding
30mA is advisable in the electrical current circuit supplying the
bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
The Attachments:
Concentrator Nozzle -
Use the concentrator nozzle for directing airflow
just where you want it, to ease styling and
straightening. For additional control use one of
the lower settings and point the airflow along
the surface of the hair to be dried.
CAUTION: Take care not to direct the airflow directly onto
the skin (e.g. scalp, neck ears, face, etc.) as hot air from the
hairdryers can, particularly if held too close, cause discomfort
or even burns.
How does the ionic feature work?
Many aspects of modern living, including air conditioning,
contact with man-made fibres and air pollution add to the build-
up of static electricity in the hair. Even brushing and towel-drying
the hair can increase these levels. This static charge causes the
scales, or cuticles of the hair, to push hair strands apart, resulting
in a rough hair surface. Consequently, hair may have a dull
appearance.
High levels of static charge cause hair to become ‘flyaway’ and
difficult to style. The advanced internal ionic generator conditions
hair by emitting negative ions to reduce static, by leaving hair
silky and shiny with reduced frizz.
IEC testing 61855
The IEC test 61855 measures the performance of household
electrical appliances. One of the tests within 61855 measures the
energy efficiency of hairdryers, and this is the test that has been
used to measure the VS Sassoon Eco Dry. In laboratory testing using
the IEC 61855 methodology, the Eco Dry had comparable drying
rate and used up to 66% of the energy used by other 2000W dryers
to dry the same amount of water in the hair.
Energy saving test
The VS Sassoon Eco Dry uses 1000W less power to dry the hair than
using a regular 2000W dryer. Using the VS Sassoon Eco Dry for 10
minutes everyday saves enough energy which represents an
energy saving of 166W per 10 minute drying time. The power
used to make a cup of tea with a 2000W kettle is 22W per cup,
therefore 166W/22W equals the equivalent energy saved to
make 7½ cups of tea. Using a 900W toaster it uses 15W to make 1
slice of toast, therefore 166W/15W equals the equivalent energy
saved to make 11 slices of toast.
These tests were conducted by in laboratory conditions and are
subject to production tolerances.
