GAS LEAKS
If a gas leak is suspected…Inform everyone in the area, asking
them to extinguish or turn off everything that may ignite the gas.
DO NOT OPERATE ELECTRICAL SWITCHES, THEY MAY
GENERATE SPARKS.
If safe to do so, open any doors or windows, close cylinder valves
and take cylinders into the open. If a large amount of gas has
escaped, evacuate the area and call the Fire Brigade, informing
them that gas cylinders are involved and how many there are.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
1. Any repair should be done by a qualied service person.
2. Improper installation, adjustment, alteration can cause personal
injury or property damage.
3. Do not attempt to alter the unit in any manner.
4. Never replace or substitute the regulator with any regulator
other than the factory-suggested replacement.
5. Do not store or use gasoline or other ammable vapours or
liquids in the heater unit.
6. The whole gas system, hose, regulator, pilot or burner should be
inspected for leaks or damage before use.
7. All leak tests should be done with a soap solution.
Never use an open ame to check for leaks.
8. Do not use the heater until all connections have been leak
tested.
9. Do not move the heater while lit.
10. Do not move the heater after it has been turned off until it has
cooled down.
11. Keep the ventilation opening of the cylinder enclosure free and
clear of debris.
12. The LP cylinder should be turned off when the heater is not in
use.
13. Check the heater immediately if any of the following occurs:
• The heater does not reach temperature.
• The burner makes popping noise during use (a slight noise is
normal when the burner is extinguished).
• Smell of gas in conjunction with extreme yellow tipping of the
burner ames.
14. The LP regulator/hose assembly must be located out of
pathways where people may trip over it or in area where the hose
will not be subject to accidental damage.
15. Any guard or other protective device removed for servicing the
heater must be replaced before operating the heater.
16. Adults and children should stay away from high temperature
surface to avoid burns or clothing ignition.
17. Children should be carefully supervised when they are in the
area of the heater.
18. Only change the gas cylinder in a amply ventilated area, away
from any ignition source (candle, cigarettes, other ame producing
appliances).
19. In the event of gas leakage, the appliance shall not be used or if
alight, the gas supply shall be shut off and the heater returned to
the supplier.

HEALTH & SAFETY REGULATIONS
The use and storage of LPG cylinders is governed by specic
regulations/legislation. Make sure you know and understand the
regulations that apply and follow them. If in any doubt, contact
Event Hire for advice.
GAS SAFETY
Read the “LPG Safe Use & Set Up” instructions.
Propane is highly ammable and heavier than air, this increases
the risk of explosion. Keep gas cylinders upright at all times, do not
drop or knock them. Damaged cylinders can be dangerous. Store
gas cylinders in the open air, in a secure, cool area; away from heat,
possible ignition source and clear of drains or depressions where
leaked gas may collect.
Do not smoke or permit naked ames in the area when changing
gas cylinders. Handle gas cylinders and connectors with care.
Carefully check the connections for leaks (the use of a proprietary
leak detector is recommended).
NEVER test for leaks with a naked ame.

OPERATING GUIDE
• For outdoor use only.
• Do not obstruct the ventilation holes of the cylinder housing.
• Do not attempt to move the heater when it is lit or attached to
the cylinder.
Position the heater with care, on a rm, level surface. The heater
must be absolutely upright to reduce any risk of it falling over.
There must be a minimum clearance of 1 metre around the heater
to minimise the risk of heat damage.
You can now t the regulator to the cylinder.
Make sure the black tap on the regulator is in the “off” position
(down) and t the regulator by rmly pressing down onto the
cylinder’s valve until you feel it lock into place.
Check for leaks (see GAS SAFETY)
Turning on the Heater:
To light the heater, turn on the gas at the cylinder by turning the
black tap on the regulator “up”.
Press and turn the variable control knob to the PILOT position

Press down the variable control knob and hold for 30 seconds.
While holding down the variable control knob, press the igniter
button several times until the pilot ame lights. Release the
variable control knob after the pilot ame lights.
Note:
If a new cylinder has been connected it may take slightly longer for
the gas to reach the pilot hole.
The pilot ame can be viewed and checked from the small round
window with sliding lid, located at the bottom of the ame screen.
If the pilot ame does not light or goes out, wait 3 minutes and
repeat the lighting procedure above.
After the pilot ame lights, turn the variable control knob to
maximum position and leave there for 5 minutes before turning
