® BPM68® BPM68
Introduction
EVOCHEK® BPM 68 oers a clinically validated companion for
safe and easy monitoring of blood pressure with irregular
heartbeat detection.
EVOCHECK® Blood pressure monitor BPM68 is US FDA cleared
device which is clinically validated by European society of
hypertension (ESH). EVOCHECK® BPM68 applies the
Oscillometric method to measure human systolic / diastolic
blood pressure and heart rate at once. All measured values are
displayed on the LCD monitor after measurements have been
recorded. EVOCHECK BPM68 has two sets of memory each can
record 90 readings. This device is designed only for adults.
Important Information Before Use
1. Blood pressure measurements should only be interpreted by a
physician or a trained health care professional who is familiar with
your medical history.
2. Only take measurement with the manufacturer supplied cu, or else it
will lead to inaccurate results.
3. Do not use the blood pressure monitor when you are close proximity
to strong static electricity or electromagnetic elds, and avoid using
the mobile during measurement.
4. Through regular use of this device and recording of your measure-
ments, you can keep your physician informed of the changes in your
blood pressure.
5. Perform your measurement in a quiet place. You should be seated in a
relaxed position.
6. Avoid smoking, eating, taking medication, alcohol consumption or
physical activity 30 minutes prior to taking a reading. If you are
exhibiting signs of stress, avoid taking your measurement until the
feeling subsides.
7. Rest 15 minutes prior to taking a reading.
8. Remove any constrictive clothing or jewellery that may interfere with
the cu placement.
9. Keep the monitor stable during measurement to achieve an accurate
reading. Remain still; do not talk during the measurement.
10. Do not install or use the unit in the following locations:
• Locations subject to vibration such as ambulances and emergency
helicopters.
• A location where there is gas or ame.
• A location where there is water or steam.
• A location where chemicals are stored.
• A location where the unit may easily fall.
11. Record your daily blood pressure and pulse readings on a chart.
12. Take your readings at the same time, each day or as recommended
by your physician to get an accurate indication of change in your
true blood pressure.
32
User Guide
Please read this user guide carefully before operating
EVOCHECK® Blood Pressure monitor BPM68.

® BPM68® BPM68
13. Wait a minimum of 15 minutes between readings to allow for the
blood vessels to return to normal. The wait time may vary depending
on your individual physiological characteristics.
14. Although such cases are rare, for those with an extremely weak pulse
or irregular pulse, errors may result which prevent proper measure-
ment. If abnormal variations are noticed, consult with your physician
or trained healthcare professional.
15. The battery has positive/negative polarity. If the battery does not
connect well to the unit, do not forcibly connect it.
16. Keep out of reach of infants, small children, and compromised people
who cannot express their consent. Playing with the air tube may
result in suocation and children may swallow small parts and
lead to Choking.
17. Children must be supervised to ensure that they are not playing with
the device.
18. Use only manufacturer authorized parts and accessories. Parts and
accessories not approved for use with the device may damage
the unit.
19. Be careful not to rest your arm on the air tube. This will restrict the
ow of air to the cu.
20. Do not measure blood pressure too frequently, or else it may result in
bruising where the cu is applied.
21. Do not apply the cu over a wound or inamed area.
22. Do not apply the cu on the same limb where intravascular access
or therapy or an arterio-venous (A-V) shunt is present, because of
temporary interference to blood ow and could result in injury to
the patient.
23. Do not apply the cu on the arm on the side where a mastectomy has
done, because of temporary interference to blood ow and could
result in injury to the patient.
24. The application of the cu and its pressurization on the arm can
cause temporary interference to blood ow, but it would not result in
injury to the patient.
25. Operation of the device does not result in prolonged impairment of
the circulation of the blood of the patient.
26. When using the device, the patient is an intended operator .
27. This device is intended for adult use. While taking a measurement,
you can stop the ination or deation process of the cu at any
time by pressing the POWER button.
Under any circumstances, the measurement taking result is ONLY
for reference.
Any further medical action should follow the advice of doctor.
Make sure you have the following
• 1 Blood pressure monitoring device
• 1 Inatable cu.
• 1 User manual.
• 4 AAA batteries.

Placement of the Pressure Sleeve (Cu)
It is important to avoid smoking, eating, taking medication, alcohol
consumption or physical activity 30 minutes prior to taking a reading If for
any reason you are unable to use or should not use your left arm, please
modify the instructions for cu application to your right arm. Your
physician can help you identify which arm is best for you to take
measurements from.
1. Remove any constrictive clothing or jewellery that
may interfere with cu placement.
2. Be seated at a table or desk with your feet
at on the oor.
3. The cu should not be plugged into the monitor
until after the cu is applied to your arm.
98

® BPM68® BPM68
Note:
Blood pressure naturally varies from one arm to the other; therefore,
measure your blood pressure on the same arm to ensure comparability
of the two readings.
4. Insert your left arm into the cu loop.
Position the ( ) mark over the main
artery on the inside of your arm.
5. The bottom edge of the cu should
be positioned approximately one
inch above the elbow joint.
6. Reaching underneath your left arm
with your right hand, pull the end of
the cu towards your body to tighten
the cu. Wrap and secure the cu,
making sure that the ( ) mark
remains in place as shown.
7. The cu should t comfortably, yet
snugly around your arm. You should be able to insert one nger easily
between your arm and the cu.
8. The cu size is suitable for use when the vertical ‘index’ mark is within
the horizontal OK range. A dierent size cu is needed if the ‘index’
mark is outside the OK range.
Note:
If you are uncomfortable with applying your cu, please seek the assistance
of another person or work with your physician to practice the cu
application. Incorrectly applied cu may result in inaccurate readings.
Main Artery
Measurement of Blood Pressure
and Pulse Rate
Please read the preceding portions of this
manual prior to taking your rst reading.
1. Position the monitor on a at, stable surface
with the digital display in view.
2. Insert the cu tubing connector into the port
on the left side of your monitor.

4. Press the POWER button. This will turn the
power on.
5. After the self-test, the values for the last
reading will appear on the display.
6. The blood pressure monitor starts to
measure.
7. The cu will automatically begin to inate,
with the display showing the increasing
pressure in the cu. As the pressure
increases, an arrow pointing up will appear
on the display.
8. When the ination has reached optimum
level, the display will begin to show the
decreasing pressure; the screen will display
an arrow pointing down while you feel the
pressure of the cu decrease.
