Foreword
The usage of a Gasprojector for Shows brings with it a high responsibility, since it is carries a
high potential for danger.
Generally, the use of open gas-flame effects carries the risk of serious danger of serious
danger for the life and health of persons, as well as other items (e.g.: buildings), if certain rules
of safety are not being followed.
• Only use the device after a thorough schooling by the manufacturer, and after having
read through these instructions carefully!
• Even in case of small uncertainties, you should consult an expert. The employees of
Explo IGN-systems will gladly help you, with any problems or questions.
• The Gasprojector may only be used by learned Pyro technicians, who have an
expertise for Special effects or stage pyrotechnics.
The laws concerning Gatherings and Fire safety/Gas regulations are always to be
followed.
General Overview
The Gasprojector can be used for musical-synchronized Flame pillars and Fire balls. It was
specifically designed for Outdoor-Use.
The system consists of a Gasprojector and a RX-Mastermodule, which can be activated by
transmission signal with the right Explo Ignition systems. A manual Release without a
Mastermodule is also possible.
Safety Regulations that need to be followed can be read in the Attachment!

Usage
Before the use of the Gasprojector:
To prevent accidents, the whole manual has to be read through before usage!
• General usage of Propane gas
When using gas, it is extremely important to follow all Safety regulations!
Important:
Since propane gas is heavier than air, it should never be used in unventilated or closed
rooms, in Earth moulds (>30cm) or near drains.
In courtyards, make sure to have enough ventilation. At cellar stairs or Earth moulds, a
highly combustible Gas-Air mix can build up.
High risk of Explosions!
To quench, only CO² extinguishers may be used.
All regulations of the Safety data sheet for propane gas, which can be obtained from the seller
of the gas tanks, are to be followed.
You may only use PROPANE GAS, and no Butane- or Earth gas.
• Setup of the system with normal gas.
Flame height: 2.5 meters
1. Check the safety distances:
Radius: Generally according to local laws, but in any case in such a radius, that no
Persons or objects can be harmed.
According to the manufacturer at least 5 meters.
Height: Generally according to local laws, but in any case in such a radius, that no
Persons or objects can be harmed.
According to the manufacturer at least 8 meters near non-combustible
constructions.
2. Attaching of the right burn nozzle for the gas.
The burn nozzle must be fixed with a 22mm-Wrench. Do not forget the Copper ring.

3. Connecting the Mastermodule with a Gasprojector, and maybe connection up to 16
more Gasprojectors.
The LED sitting on the electronic of the Gasprojector should flash three times, after the
battery has been fully charged and the device is switched on. If the battery is half
empty, it will only flash twice, and once to signal an empty battery.
If the mastermodule is activated while the Key is in the "Test" position, the LED will
start to flash slowly. This flashing should be controlled on the first and last
Gasprojector.

Mastermodule with the Gaspro ector
4. To test the functionality of the gasprojector and the Mastermodule, the key on the
Mastermodule should be turned to the "Armed" Position. Now, an ignition signal can be
sent with the transmitter. The magnetic valve should make a "Click" sound.

5. The Gasbottles must be placed on firm ground, and be kept from falling over.
6. Before connecting the Gas tanks, the safety valve must be turned closed.
7. Attaching the tubes between the Gasprojector and the Gas tank:
First, the tube must be connected to the projector. Then it can be screwed onto the gas
tank. Please check for leakage.
During the setup, both sealing rings must not be damaged.
The Gasprojector has an Euro-Connector with a wrench width of 30mm.
Attention: The Gas-bottle-connector has a left hand thread.
To connect multiple Gasprojectors, special T-pieces can be used.
Because of pressure loss, no more than three Gasprojectors should be hooked up to
one tank.

If more than 3 Gasprojectors are being used, more propane gas bottles must be used.
Because of synchronicity, we recommend using an odd number of Gasprojectors.
8. Controlling the whole system with a Leakage spray.
Pic – Leakage Spray
Before igniting the pilot flame (With an electric ignition, no pilot flame is needed), a
brust of gas to ventilate the system, so that no Gas-Air mix can develop in the
connecting tube.
9. When the gas tank and the safety valve are both opened, the pilot flame can be ignited
manually. With the electric ignition, this is not necessary.
Ignition should be made with the delivered Piezo igniter, or a similar gasburner.

In no case, you should use figure lights, or pyrotechnical igniters! This leads to
damage by slag development in the nozzle head.

Attention: If no recommended Gas igniter is being used, burnings can occur through
the pilot flame.

Disassembling the System
After the use of the Gasprojector the valve on the Gas tank must be closed.
The connecting-tubes of the Gaqsprojectors are to be ventilated by repeated activation of the
magnetic valve.
Attention: This leads to flame pillars from the Gasprojectors.
Only after the pilot flame has ceased, the tubes may be disconnected.
Important:
The tubes may never be disconnected from the system while the pilot flame still burns, since
the outpuring gas may ignite.

Safety Instructions
1. The Device may only be activated when in good and proofed condition. Defunctional
Devices must be repaired by an acknowledged Service, or by the manufacturer, and until
then may not be used. After each repair, the Device must be tested for its functionality by
the manufacturer, who has to acknowledge this with a certificate of proof.
2. No other gases than propane in safe tanks may be used.
3. The devices must be insured against toppling over and be placed in a safe location.
4. The flame ejection should be straight upwards.
5. The aforementioned safety distances are to be adhered..
6. All personnel, actors and pyro technicians, must be taught about the safety distances and
danger.
7. The person responsible for the control of the Gasprojectors should always have full sight
on all devices, and make sure that all safety regulations are being followed.
8. Armed Switch – Emergency-Off
a. The Armed Switch is being made by the key switch on the RX-Mastermodule, and
should be done only shortly before the use of the devices.
b. By sending a test signal with the transmitter, the control orders can always be
overwritten (Emergency-Off). In case of a tube break, or disruption, all
Gasprojectors will be turned off automatically, and be put in a safe mode.
9. Gas leakage test
Before use, test the correct connection of the connection-tubes, as well as their leak
tightness. In case of leaking gas, all safety valves must be shut immediately, and the zone
of danger must be left.
10. Immediately after opening the safety valve on the Gasprojector, the pilot flame has to be
ignited, since otherwise non combusted gas is fleeing.
11. After connecting the Mastermodule and the gas tubes, never lean over the dangerous
parts of the Gasprojector.
