WARNING: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater
in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless
constant supervision is provided.
Children less than 3 years old should be kept away from the appliance. Children aged from 3 –8 years shall
only switch on the appliance, provided it is properly installed, have been given instruction on how to use it
and understand the hazards involved. Children aged 3 –8 shall not plug in, clean, or perform maintenance
tasks on the appliance.
· CAUTION —Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention
must be given when children and vulnerable people are present.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS –UK PLUG WIRING INSTRUCTION
• If the plug must be changed because it is not suitable for yoursocket, or due to damage, please
follow the wiring instructions shown below.
• The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
BROWN: LIVE (L)
BLUE: NEUTRAL (N)
GREEN/YELLOW: EARTH (E)
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, please see below:
• The BLUE wire is the NEUTRAL and must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N orcoloured BLACK.
• The BROWN wire is the LIVE and must be connected to the
terminal that is marked with the letter L or coloured RED.
• The GREEN/YELLOW must beconnected to the terminal which
is marked E or the earth symbol or coloured GREEN or
GREEN/YELLOW.
• Always ensure that the cord grip is positioned and securely
fastened.
• WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
• If a 13A (BS1363) fused plug is used it must be fitted with
a BS1362 13A fuse. If in doubt consult a qualified
electrician.

Install preparation
This product includes a GLASS panel. Use extreme caution when handling. Failure to
do so couldresultin personal injury or property damage.
Remove all parts and hardware from the carton and place them on a clean, soft, dry surface. Check
the parts list to make sure you have all the parts you need. Please recycle all packaging material at
your local recycling center.

bottom and sides, as long as the vents on the fire unit are not obstructed and the frame is
hollow to allow for airflow.
NOTE:We recommend you don’t place soft furnishings directly in front of the heater outlet.

Pre-installation
1.Remove the 8 screws from the top and bottom of the appliance (Fig. 3-1).
2.Install the 4 metal brackets (supplied) using the 8 screws previously removed (Fig. 3-2).
3. Remove the side trims and side panels from both sides of the appliance by removing the 12 screws
(Fig.3-3). Set the side trims, side panels, and screws aside.

1.Re-secure both side trims usingthe12 screws previouslyremoved (Fig. 3-4).
Two-sidedViewing Installation
1.For desired open side, re-secure the side trim usingthe6 screws previouslyremoved (Fig. 3-5).
2.For desired closedside, re-secure theside panel usingthe4 screws previouslyremoved (Fig. 3-5).
Note:
When installed with both sides open, the appliance will have a front view, as well as left and right-side views.
Note:
When installed fullyrecessed into the wall with one side open, the appliance will have a front view and left-
or right-sided view,depending on your desired open side.

Single-sided ViewingInstallation
1. Re-secureboth side panelsusing the 8 screws previouslyremoved (Fig. 3-6).
Note:
When installed fully recessed into the wall with both left and right sides covered,the appliance will have a
frontview only.

FrontGlass Installation/ Removal
1. Ensuringtheglassmetal bracket is fitted to the top of thefront glass, place the front glass into the
track located insidethefirebox (Fig. 4-1).
2. Tilt theglass forwards andintoplace. (Fig. 4-2).
3. Securethe fourflathead screws (supplied)through the bracket holeson the top, underside of the
glass metal bracket (Fig. 4-3).
4. Reverse thesesteps to remove thefront glass.
Note:
Support the front glass through the entireprocess to avoidbreakage.

Fuel-bedEffect Installation
1. Whilesupportingtheglass,remove the screws holdingthefrontglassscreen in place. Remove
the glass andsafelystore it to one side for now. See page 12.
2. Disperse the crystals evenlyon the fuel-bedtray in a side-to-side motion. Figure 1. Next, using
the same side-to-side technique,dispersemost of the charred flakesonto the surfaceof crystals.
Save some for later.
3. Place theartificial logs on the surface of thecrystals, leavinga gap underneath sothefireeffect
is visible.Figure 2. To enhancethe bedfurther, disperse theremainder of the charred wood flakesin
andaroundeach log.
4. Finally,when contentwith yourfuel-bed,re-fit theglass screen See page 12, switch the fireon
andrelax.

Note:

Operation
Please read the entire owner’s manual, including all safety information, before
plugging in or using this product.Failure to do so could result in fire, electric shock, or

Power
Plug the power cord into a 220-240V 50Hz outlet (see IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION on
Pages 2 and 3). Make sure the outlet is in good condition and the plug is not loose. NEVER exceed
the maximum amperage for the circuit. DO NOT plug other appliancesintothesame circuit.
Methods of Operation
The electric fire can be operated by the control panel located on the front of the unit or the remote
control. See figures below.
Before operating,please review the IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION on Pages 2 and 3.

4. Press again. When “TUES” appears onthe screen and “ON” beginsflashing, use to select the desired
hour and minute to turn on the heaterforTuesday.

Press again. When “OFF” begins f lashing,use to select the desired hourand minute to turn off the
heater forTuesday.
note:
The timer can only be adjusted in 30-minute intervals (i.e. 00:00- 00:30; 00:30- 01:00, etc.)
note:
If the temperature was previously set, those digits will be shown instead of“18”.

Press again. When “18” beginsflashing, use to select the desired temperature forTuesday.
7. Repeat steps 1 to 6 to set the “ON/OFF” time and temperature for Wednesday, Thursday,Friday,
Saturday,and Sunday.

Press or to finish, ensuring to aim the remote control at the receiver, located in the middle of the
appliance. The appliance will “beep” once to confirm your settings have been saved successfully.
Open window warning
If the room temperature decreasesby 10 degreeswithin 3 minutes,the appliance will assume there is an open window
nearby. In order to conserve energy, the heater will automatically switch fromHigh Heat toLowHeat, or if the heateris
already at LowHeat, itwill turn off completely.
When switching from High Heat toLow Heat, the appliance will beep 3 times and the digital display will flash “88” 3 times
before displaying the existing heating status.
When switching fromLow Heat toOff, the appliance will beep 3 times and the digital displaywill flash “88” continuously.
To reset the heating f unction, see “operating remote control” section.
NOTICE
When the heater is first turned on, a slight odour may be present. This is normal
and won’t occur again unlesstheheateris un-usedfora longperiod of time.
NOTICE
To improve operation, aim the remote control at the front of the fire unit. DO NOT
press the buttons too quickly. Give theunittime to respondto each command.
Temperature Limiting Control
This heater is equipped with a Temperature Limiting Control. Should the heater reach an unsafe
temperature, the heater will automatically turn OFF. To reset:
1. Unplugthepowercord from the outlet.
2. Turn the ON/OFF switch on the CONTROL PANELto OFF. Wait 5 minutes.
3. Inspect the fireunit and make sure all vents are free from dust or lint. If they are clogged, use a
vacuumto clean the ventareas.
4. With the POWER switch in the OFF position,plugthe power cord back into theoutlet.
5. If the problem continues,haveyouroutletandwiring inspectedby a professional.
Remote Control Battery Information
•This remote control uses Two AAA batteries (NOT included).
NEVERdisposeof batteries in fire. Failureto observe this precaution mayresult in
explosion.Disposeof batteries at your local hazardous material processing center.

Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
ALWAYS turn the heater OFF and unplug the power cord from the outlet before
cleaning, performing maintenance, or moving the fire unit. Failure to do so could result in
electric shock, fire, or personal injury.
NEVER immerse in water or spray with water. Doing so could result in electric shock,
fire, or personal injury.
Metal:
•Buffusing asoft cloth, slightlydampenedwith a citrusoil-based product.
•DO NOT usebrass polish orhouseholdcleanersasthese products willdamage themetal trim.
Glass:
•Use a good quality glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth or towel. Dry thoroughly with a paper
towel or lint-freecloth.
•NEVER use abrasive cleansers,liquidsprays, or any cleanerthat couldscratch the surface.
Vents:
•Use a vacuumor duster to remove dust anddirt from the heater andventareas.
Plastic:
•Wipe gentlywith a slightlydamp cloth and a mild solution of dish soapandwarm water.
NEVER useabrasive cleansers,liquidsprays, or any cleanerthat couldscratch the surface.
Maintenance
Risk of electric shock! DO NOT OPEN any panels. No user-serviceable parts inside!
ALWAYS turn the heater OFF and unplug the power cord from the outlet before
cleaning, performing maintenance, or moving the fire unit. Failure to do so could result in
electric shock, fire, or personal injury.
Electrical and Moving Parts:
•The fan motors are lubricated at the factory and will notrequire lubrication.
•Electrical componentsare integratedin the fire unitandare notserviceable by the consumer.
